Considering many of you are locals, I thought this would be a good place to ask what my family should do in the three days that we have during our vacation where we will not be in Disneyland. We have already experienced Universal Studios and gone to a Conan show, as well as visited Santa Monica Pier but we're looking for something new. We will probably make a trip down to San Diego for one of the   More...

Definitely the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Safari Park, Coronado is beautiful, Gaslamp, Mt. Soledad, Seaport Village, and Balboa Park to name our favorites 😊 - OhanaPhoto  7101.4 #21 3:52PM

I am not local, but we were just down there and we really enjoyed the CA Science Centre.  It is free to get in but you do have to pay for the special exhibits/IMAX.  They have a Dead Sea Scroll exhibit right now, which does sell out, and it was interesting with a lot of ancient artifacts.  They also have the Endeavour there, which is fascinating to see also.  We also did SeaWorld in San Diego.  I understand there is a lot of controversy surrounding it, but we did enjoy it.  If you go to SeaWorld, check online about the All Day Dining pass..... $30 for unlimited meals in 4 restaurants all day long....we were piggies but loved it. - dianeburns1998  169.2 #2588 8:51PM

Ahh I just got accepted to the Disney College Program! I figured I would post here to share my excitement with people who will actually understand it. Putting a Starbucks in Disneyland may not have been the most popular idea, but I think it was well executed and looks as if it belongs on Main Street U.S.A. (Photo taken on my last trip)

I like it too. Β I enjoyed the charm of the former coffee shop, but the coffee itself wasn't great and it was inconsistently made. Β I don't think Starbucks' coffee is the best I've ever had, but it is good and I appreciate their consistency and that they move people through quickly. Β They retained most of the charm, and set it up to handle more people efficiently. Β  - Spoonful_O_Sugar  713.6 #333 9:22PM
While it's nice and good product, I feel the service inside this joint adventure is slow inside the park while the DTD store is very quick no matter how crowded and the product is slightly better there  - Plumiegirl  10907.8 #11 9:04AM

I have a friend who did it and she absolutely loved it.  It didn't ruin the Disney magic for her.  She loved it so much that she continues to work for them on PR stuff every once in a while, while being a full time engineer. - potatohead25  855.8 #263 6:30PM
Just seeing this now...I did the program back in 2011 and have stayed with the Company since. I did the January-August program because it is the longer of the two choices. I was also at CSUF taking a full load of classes at the same time. Since you're a sophomore (the same age I did it),I would wait to either after you graduate or take a semester off because 1, you'll be working almost full time and you will be taking classes at DL also. Overall though I had a great experience. The classes you take give you the opportunity to meet CMs from all over the resort and the chance to network with many of the higher up CMs in management. Also, there are many magical experiences that you can take part in like tours of the Dream Suite, Walt's Apartment and riding Space Mountain with the lights on for a couple hours (these will vary depending on your term). To answer your question about WDW/DL, the WDW program is about 3-4 times larger than DL's because their resort is a lot bigger. If you like a smaller group, I would recommend DL. And no, after working at the park now for 3 years, the magic still lives on. To be honest, you do loose it a little when you first start because the entire operation can be a little overwhelming, but as you continue to interact with guests and watch the park from a different perspective then before, it renews it in you and it keeps going. - BaseballMickey  9150.3 #14 8:28PM
