Where is the best place to rent a scooter for the parks? We will need it for 4 days while in the parks and really need to be able to take it back to the hotel with us. My poor dad is having more and more issues with his heels and a scooter will be the only way he can make the trip without being in too much pain.
Where are you staying? Camelot hotel across from the park has scooters as well as a few doors down to the south. - ShariRenee  4070.7 #22 12:39PM
We are staying at the Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate. So it is a longer walk than we usually have.  - jnshenry01  10.9 #8603 12:44PM
I have used apple scooters with no complaints for 3 separate trips. They deliver to your hotel.  - disneybob49  37.2 #4812 1:13PM

Can you all help me understand the DAS and if my dad can get one? He cannot stand for long periods of time due to a heel issue. He may even have to get a scooter for this trip due to his heel pain. Does he need a dr. note to get a DAS? How do we use the DAS? Will the rest of us have to wait without him?
No Dr note is needed for proof as it is an issue with privacy and or respect. You have to visit city hall or the chamber of commerce in dca and will have to explain your concerns. Please note, you may or may not be issued a das  even after the question of concerns. Theywill help you to ddetermine the best way to enjoy your day if they dont. If they do issue all member must be present if it's more than 5, you can have eveyonewait outside but the cm will check to see eeveryone to verify. If issued they will explain the process and you must visit areas assigned in the park to ge t a return  time and he or she must be present to ride , you can also use fp to help enjoy additional rides. This is the basic and other questions you can ask there. Hope this helps - pikarich  2684.3 #36 12:49PM
Also there will be additional information with guests with wheelchairs and or motor scooter,  I'm not sure but heard that it may also be non das pass use, but not sure about this part  - pikarich  2684.3 #36 12:52PM
If you get a wheelchair or ECV, you don't need a DAS card. Some attractions can accommodate a wheelchair through the stand by queue and others cannot. For those that don't accommodate wheelchairs in the standard queue, there is a different procedure. You will approach the attraction you want to ride, have your tickets scanned, and be issued a return time. You can only get one return time at a time. It's essentially like you're in the stand by line. Upon returning to the attraction, you will have your tickets scanned again. This unlocks you to allow you to get another return time. You will ride the attraction and then be on your way. You can still get fast passes for other attractions. Hope that helps.  - IDVandalSkipperCM  2072.4 #55 1:11PM
So for wheel chairs, it still allows one ride at a time like a DAS but without needing the card? - JoshTheJunkyardJamboreer  309.3 #744 1:22PM
Correct.  - CM_Shadowgamer  2333.5 #46 1:43PM
The DAS should work for him, even if you do get a scooter. Just got I city hall and talk to them to see how they can accommodate you trip. Plus if you do, they usually give it two weeks of validation, but if you guys are pass holders, they will extent it to about two months. Hope it helps! Have fun!  - Disneypirategirl  60.5 #4033 1:24PM

47 days from now we will be back in Disneyland!!! And we got a room at one of our favorite Good Neighbor hotels. The breakfast there is in-freakin-believable. The only thing better would be had we been able to get a room at Paradise Pier.

Can someone tell me about the Disneyland Halloween party? Do they close Disneyland early for the party? Why should I spend the extra $$$ to go? If I am already visiting that day will they kick us out if we don't have a party pass?
Tons of candy, safe trick or treating for kids, Cadaver Dans singing, and you can wear costumes. Yes worth it. Yes, park closes early for non- wristbanded guests. - Alicewhoareyou  1021.8 #145 12:54PM
Yes they close DL early and if you do not have a wristband for the Hallowern party, you have to leave. You can enter the party 3 hours before it starts, so if it's from 7-12, you can go in at 4. It's extra money but it's worth it. You get candy, get to dress up, fun food and the line rides are not long. There is also a Hallowern parade, awesome fireworks, characters dressed up differently and great entertainment. It's worth the money. - SquirtFromTheEAC  6.8 #12011 12:56PM

What the heck is going on the weekend of October 17th thru 19th? All my usual hotels are booked solid. I even asked for the most expensive suite (not that we could afford it, but if my parents stay with us we could) and all suites are booked too. So, what is happening that weekend? Should we beg off and go a week earlier?
We will be there the same time & booked our room & flight months ago. That time of year there are the Halloween parties. Also in Utah our kids have a 4 day weekend then so lots of us come to play - UTDISNEYFAMILY  1175.5 #113 3:35PM

Some schools have fall break that week couple with Columbus Day. - potatohead25  541.8 #316 3:52PM
I haven't read that there's anything special going on, but it just seems like that time of the year has gone from low season to high season with all the Halloween parties and local AP holders.  I like the fall festivities, but I do kinda miss our fall trips to DL without super crowds.   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  526.5 #335 4:21PM
I think right now the two weeks  in the fall that are the slowest seem to be two weeks after Halloween. But then you miss out on Some Halloween and I don't think that Christmas is up yet either. But if you're looking for low crowds I think that's  about the best time I can think of. Or figure out how to know the weather and go only on rainy days!!!!!! - secretagentangel  1242.8 #101 5:06PM

I wish I could wiggle my nose and be at DL. Instead I have to get on a plane Tuesday morning and I HATE FLYING. I made sure I had enough Xanax to make the flight less awful. But after a short 1-1/2 hour flight and we will be in LA.
Just think of the good things waiting at the end of the flight! - redsoxcarlos  995.2 #149 9:26PM

My husband and I are going to celebrate our 11th anniversary at Disneyland...without our kids! I am looking forward to trying out some of the nicer restaurants and not having to worry about bathroom breaks or needing to bring a stroller and half a ton of snacks.

I hope posting this is ok, technically it is Disney related. A really good friend of mine, who is a CM at Epcot for Test Track, was diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer last week. Like 100 cases per year for adults. She is the mom to two little boys and married. She is the sole moneymaker in her house and her oldest has Autism and seizures. She is the sweetest woman and loves making magic for   More...

What are some best places to eat at both parks? I told my husband I want us to try some different places this time. We never deviate from our usually.

Paradise Garden Grille if you want something that doesn't feel very theme-parky food.  They have yummy skewers and gyros there, mostly a Mediterranean feel to the food.  Very yummy. - Sarafina  430.8 #431 12:02PM

We stayed there about 8 years ago. I thought it was good. The only reason we haven't been back is we get the double rooms, which they don't have, and the single rooms are always more than at desert inn so we stay there instead. But really, you're just looking for something to sleeps and shower in right?! So it'll be fine. It's not a 5 star hotel but it was nice I thought  - brodysmommy  334.8 #627 2:07PM
