My family and I will be at DLR next week. I was wondering if any one had suggestions for tackling Radiator Springs Racers. I know this ride is very popular so I was wondering if it is better to run there first thing when the park opens or head there first for a fast pass and go some where else? Thanks.

Send one person with all your tickets/APs to the fastpass line to get fast passes while the rest get into line for the attraction. Bam, you now have fast passes and a short wait time. - CM_Shadowgamer  2666.2 #57 9:57PM
Just make sure all the tickets are scanned at the gate. You can't get a FP if anyone has not entered DCA. - Coaster  24657.2 #2 2:32PM

Thanks for the help. We are not staying on site, so we do not get early entry into DCA. We will just plan to hit Carsland as soon as we can. Any other suggestions? - jazsdad  22.7 #7294 1:52PM
If you can't do what shadowgamer said (let's say the standby wait time is really long when you get in) then just grab some FP's and come back later. Either that or you could have one person take all tickets/APs to get fastpasses while the rest of your party gets in line for /another/ popular attraction. Kinda like a modified version of shadowgamer's plan. :P - JRDrummer_CM  875.4 #236 1:59PM
The single rider line is always great, too, but you might not get to all sit together. My boyfriend and I only waited about 25 minutes on Saturday while the regular line was 90 minutes! And we actually ended up in two cars racing each other so that was fun (my car won!) - blackcat  6.1 #16865 2:56PM

Two weeks from today, we will be in Disneyland. The kids have no idea at all. Just going to get in the van from Gma/Gpa's house in Sacramento and "head home" to Arizona after a fun week for Spring Break. Suddenly, Mom and Dad will get very tired and need to stop for the night. Should be awesome. I have to tell you, it has been harder to contain my excitement then keep the secret from the kids.   More...

I'll be there a little before that.. but I'm headed from Sacramento too! - mousejedi  310.1 #933 12:01PM
Nice. My in-laws are close to Sac State, just up the street from Hiram Johnson High School. That's where my wife grew up. I grew up in Elk Grove, just across the street from Elk Grove Park. Enjoy you trip - jazsdad  22.7 #7294 12:04PM
Haha! I work at Sac State. Thats cool. Nice to meet another fellow from the NorCal area. And I definitely am finding it difficult to contain my excitement - mousejedi  310.1 #933 12:11PM
I used to live right by Elk grove high while I took classes at Sac City and Cosumnes River. We live about 30 miles East of Sacramento now. Enjoy your trip!! - disneymama07  6.6 #15866 1:14PM

Still planning all the details of our upcoming trip to DLR. We will be there 3/18 - 3/23. Can't wait. We were looking into the Disney Photo Pass. Has anyone ever used this program before? What did you think? How does it work? Is there a specific place that pictures are taken? Are pictures taken at all the character locations? Just trying to see if it is worth the money. Thanks for your assista  More...

The Photopass itself is given free & can used throughout the park for various pictures. You can purchase a cd with all the photos taken either in the park or online when you get home for about $60. If you want a great deal purchase the Photopass plus which will give you all your pics plus all the attraction pics which are about $15 each, plus any character dining, which are about $40 each. If you preorder from disneyphotopass.com it's $70 in parks it's $100. Either way the Plus is the best way to capture all your moments you won't regret it. - UTDISNEYFAMILY  2068.4 #89 10:24AM
Thanks a lot. I think we are going to do it. Sounds like a great program. - jazsdad  22.7 #7294 10:32AM
For your trip you must order it today online for the cheaper $. They say 14 days in advance. - UTDISNEYFAMILY  2068.4 #89 10:34AM

Hey everyone! I am new to this all so I was looking for some advice. My wife and I are planning a trip to Disneyland for March 19th - 22nd, 2013. We have 7 children with the oldest being 12 and the youngest are 1.5 year old twins. We have not been to Disneyland in 7-8 years (when we only had 3 children) so we were looking for good plans/ideas on how to tackle the parks with such a large group. A  More...

Yes bring food etc for the kids, just no glass containers. This saves a lot of money on snacks, purchase special snacks so they don't feel left out. Give each of the kids a dollar amount they can spend on a snack/souvenir. Go when park opens and you can ride most things in the first hour and then enjoy the rest of the day with fast passes. Get fp's for the older kids for Space Mountain/Splash and one of you can wait with the little ones at the tables on the backside of Pizza Port. If you want to split up send one parent to Fantasyland and the other to Tomorrowland to conquer a lot of attractions, then join up for the rest of the day. - ShariRenee  12238.9 #8 10:18AM
Oh and have a great time and post pics! - ShariRenee  12238.9 #8 10:19AM
Welcome! Doing DL with a big group is do-able. To answer your questions: Yes, they still have the parent swap for attractions, you can bring in your own food/drinks. For Fantasmic, for the 9pm show, 8:15 is a good time to start claiming a spot. If not, then go to the 10:30 show which is a lot less crowded. Also, for WOC the 10:15 show is less crowded too. - BaseballMickey  8164.8 #13 10:18AM
If you plan on seeing both the fireworks and Fantasmic in the same day, stake out a place for the fireworks on Main Street, then after the fireworks head straight to Fantasmic for the second showing. They will clean out the area for the first show then let everyone in at the same time. The second showing is much less crowded than the first show. Enjoy your trip! - paintedflowers28  9.7 #12012 12:59PM
Another thought on your meals--my youngest is 7 now, but before she turned 3, the restaurants would provide a smaller meal for her at no cost. Maybe someone with little ones knows if they still do this. It was a nice little perk. I remember at Ariel's Grotto they would make a hot dog into an octopus, and also served a little Mac and cheese. We also did not pay for her at Goofy's Kitchen. - MeridaFan  4244.3 #40 1:06PM
Kids eat free under 3 at character dining, I believe. - bluefairy  643.8 #350 5:02PM
