Question for the day... Have you ever had a big trip to Disney planned and had to cancel last minute because of kids' illness? How did the hotel handle it? How about the kids? We were supposed to leave for 3 days at the Grand today, but the kids started puking all night :-( I was so relieved that Disney let us postpone without any penalty! It was just a room change so they said it was easy to do!   More...

Looks like Harold isn't feeling so great either. Hopefully no bobsleds were passing by when he got sick.  - phillip...  1357.8 #132 12:32PM
.phillip. Must have been that leftover cheeseburger of yours. #notshelfstable 😂 - SassafrasDavis  503.9 #441 7:59PM
An old hotel trick. If you have to cancel and it's technically too late, just call to reschedule (for long enough in the future to put you back in the good zone - i.e. If the hotel has a 72 hr cancellation policy, make sure you reschedule for at least 5 or so days out - then cal back and cancel. You'd hope that hotels would work with you , especially with illness, but many don't (and in the case of the Grand you could be forfeiting $500 for 1 night!).  - msdizmaui  744.0 #266 3:35PM
Thanks. Good to know.  - disneyforme  243.0 #1473 10:46AM
I called that morning thinking I'd be out that much $$$ or best case maybe a fee for transfering the dates. My rate only went up $30 because AP rate was a little higher on one night.  Your tip is very helpful. We're all just counting down until May now! - bayoucruisinprincess  87.7 #3846 10:49PM
good idea! - MsTikiMermadam  1242.0 #145 8:26AM
I had a solo trip planned and ended up with he flu! Hotel on harbor let me cancel with no charge and DL reimbursed my money for the walk in walts footsteps tour.  - mickeymousegrandma  0.7 #74193 3:25PM

Jedi Training Academy question.... How quickly do the fast passes get taken up? Is there an immediate rush in the morning or do my kids have a chance if we show up an hour or two after opening? Any showtime is fine. Thanks!

I have still seen sign ups available as late as 1 to 2 pm  - pikarich  5792.9 #21 10:18AM
It depends on how busy the parks are. We showed up two hrs after the park a Sat and everything was gone.  We had to get on the waiting list to see if someone did show for their assigned time.  - PrincessAuroraMomma  598.9 #350 10:33AM

Did the Blue Bayou Fantasmic package tonight! If your planning on eating there anyways, it's totally worth it. Food was great and you can't beat the front row view! FYI, reservations before 7pm will get you in to the 9 pm show.

Great info! Thanks for sharing. I love this show! 😍 - Madgesty  650.4 #318 12:53AM

Just noticed that the events page on Disneyland's site gives dates for "Seasons of the Force" as Nov 16 through May 26th.

Hi! I have a question that I know MW would have the best advice. I'm going with a group of 10 in June and we want to do a character meal. The girls want to do Ariel's grotto but not sure if the 2 boys will like it. Anyone with experience taking boys there? Or should we do Goofy's instead? Thanks!

In my experience girls more easily handle gender neutral characters than boys handling the princess characters.  I'd go with Goody's Kitchen. - potatohead25  785.3 #243 7:12AM
Totally agree. Both will have fun at Goofy's. Plus you can have peanut butter/jelly pizza.  - sewedna  578.9 #362 12:18PM
goofys kitchen has a variety  of characters including a few princess, you can usually find goofy, pluto, alice, mad hatter, baloo, cinderella, aladdin, jasmin and a few others but are rotated daily . if they need more princess theres always the princess faire at dl to see them plus goofys kitchen has a great variety of breakfast, salads and fruits - pikarich  5792.9 #21 7:42AM
This is the correct answer^^^^^  - Cinderella_Schnooks  3382.5 #43 9:27AM
Don't forget Rafiki - UTDISNEYFAMILY  2002.4 #86 5:41PM
And Minnie and Mulan! - TinkerSchelle  2041.8 #81 5:57PM
Thanks for all your advice. I think we'll do Goofy's kitchen! Everone will be happy! - bayoucruisinprincess  87.7 #3846 12:49PM
I would do Goofys or Minnie's. There aren't any princesses at Minnie's usually though. So Goofys might be a better choice to get a good mix.  - warchanted  171.4 #2416 6:00PM
