For those of you putting off signing up for the Disneyland Half, it is already 85% capacity after only a few hours. Most other races already sold out. Don't wait until it's too late. I was lucky enough to sign up with early registration. RunDisney.com

On the opposite side of rope drop this time. Gotta love the "magical hour" while staying at the Disneyland Resorts. I do have to say I felt like a bit of a jerk for taking this. But I've been on that side WAY more lol
And you aren't on Radiator Springs instead? - DLKenCA  1386.6 #87 10:11AM
Haha! I was just leaving Radiator Springs lol - maryv00  164.7 #2326 11:12AM
Yep. Been on the other side of that rope many times before. I don't pay much attention to the folks that have early entry. I am just happy when my time starts for enjoyment on the attractions. Have a wonderful time! Everyone else is going to.  - grumpypapa  1683.7 #71 10:17AM

Just signed up via Annual Pass Holder early sign up for the 2014 Disneyland Half Marathon! Scared and excited! Anybody out there who's done this particular race have any advice or insight? Much appreciated!
Ooh!  You will have so much fun!  Plan for hot, humid conditions.  Train consistently.  Invest in good shoes and clothing (go to a specialty running store and get fit for running shoes--spending the extra money is worth it).  Know that you will have good days and bad days during your training: use the bad/meh days to empower and strengthen you.  Also know that you will need to figure out your hydration and fuel, and that can only be done through trial and error during training.  On the day of the race, follow runner etiquette and stay to the right if you are walking/slow jogging, and try to avoid zig zagging (this puts unnecessary stress on your joints and is dangerous for the people trying to run behind you).  One thing I wish I had done is run a 10k before the DL half so that I could submit proof of time to be moved to an earlier corral. Good luck!! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  507.7 #343 7:35PM
amazingly insightful and helpful advice! Thanks a million! - maryv00  164.7 #2326 8:14PM
πŸ˜ƒ Glad to help!  Have tons of fun! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  507.7 #343 8:25PM
@spoon is brilliant as always! The runner etiquette is a must. make sure you are aware of what going on in front of you and behind you. Slower movers should be on the right and you should always pass on the left, JUST LIKE DRIVING. There will be many inconsiderate people who ignore this common courtesy but it will go a long way toward keeping you safe if you pay attention and follow the most basic rules of running in a group!......Have fun and don't forget the pre game bathroom stop using porta pottys in the dark is not fun! - georgieporgie  180.2 #2092 8:50PM
Ran the DL Half last year and the Tink 10k and Half this year! Just signed up for the Dumbo Dare because of how much I love it! I'm essentially just echoing what everyone else has posted...train, eat well & know your body. If something is aching or not feeling right, take care of it! Also, don't beat yourself up if you don't stick to your training routine 100%. For this last race, my training was all over the place & I was still able to reach my goals. Do some weights or swim instead of running day in and day out...I've found the breaks from running really helped my joints! Good luck!!  - GrimGrinningAmanda  660.1 #237 10:35AM
Good advice. you dont want to run to much as it can really mess you up if you do too much on your legs you can really injure yourself pretty easily. - Dave   10855.6 #2 12:40PM
Wonderful advice! Thanks! - maryv00  164.7 #2326 2:44PM
Iv'e done it past 3 years.  This will be my fourth.  Just keep training.  Last year was very hot and humid.  If its your first, don't go into this with a time goal.  Make your goal to finish the race.  Warning:  You will get hooked on RunDIsney and it will cost you $$$$$$.   - streetsweeper  511.9 #339 9:58AM
ThisπŸ‘†! I'm trying for my coast to coast next year and it's a hefty penny! (Also and excuse to go to wdw!😁) - CourtyAstroBlisters  658.6 #238 10:19AM
I'm already hooked. Did the Tinkerbell half this January and immediately signed up for the Disneyland half lol - maryv00  164.7 #2326 2:46PM

This is my last weekend of my Annual Pass before it expires (can't afford to renew). This past year was filled with so many smiles and magical moments. I'm going out with a bang though. Running the Tinkerbell half and staying at the Disneyland Hotel (first time ever). I have a small list going of things to see, do and definitely eat for my last visit but in need of some help. If this were YOUR   More...
I would make a list of my top 10 attractions and try to get those in: POTC, Haunted Mansion, etc. I'd get there for rope drop and plan to stay until closing. I'd eat all if my favorite foods: beignets, caramel apple, frites, etc. And, after I left, I'd probably get home and start planning my next trip. πŸ˜† - Diz_Mel  76.9 #3674 6:35PM

Well seeing that you would still be able to access steakhouse55, napa rose, goofy's kitchen, and storytellers cafΓ©. I would say eating at carthay is a must!!! Blue Bayou is ok but better ambience than food IMO. Hope you have a great time! - goofydad909  1702.1 #70 7:14PM

Has anyone in mousewait land been to Steakhouse 55 for breakfast? Most of the reviews I've seen are for dinner. Is breakfast good? Recommendations? Avg plate price?
It is very good, a little pricey. Items are about $11-$17. Steak and eggs & huevos rancheros are very good. Lots of people like the breakfast burrito but I have not had it. Very nice setting. Menu can be seen at DisneyGo. - ShariRenee  3852.4 #22 12:55PM
Ooh! Thanks you have been more than helpful! - maryv00  164.7 #2326 3:05PM
I like it, the food is always been pretty good and they have a lot of options. - Dave  10855.6 #2 1:40PM
I like their breakfast! I think the variety is great and it's not too pricey. I really enjoy their French Toast.  - Atora  1866.6 #64 1:42PM
Favorite place for breakfast. I don't think it's very expensive at all; case in point eggs Benedict at IHOP $12, at Steakhouse 55 $14 before AP discount. The prices have not been changed in like 10 years.  - dizneedude  629.6 #257 3:11PM
Yeah, the IHOP across the street is very overpriced, but it's the location. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  543.6 #308 3:34PM
