Time to turn off all the lights cuz its.....GHOST STORIES TIME!!! Me First..

Not exactly a haunting of the ride itself, but according to a post on a popular Disneyland inspired online message board, former Disneyland cast members claim to be privy to the story of an old man who haunts the Big Thunder Mountain Path. This path winds around the back of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction and connects Fantasyland to Frontierland. According to the claim, there is a ghost of an old man who sits on a bench along the path. The same claim states that even Disneyland cast members choose to avoid the area at night if possible. - Jayjay  417.5 #623 8:45PM
Ahh that's seriously so interesting. I've seen the creepiest video of a ghost at DL, I love that kinda stuff. - michelIe  422.1 #617 8:47PM

Has anyone here done the WOC picnic? I was wondering what the food is? On the website it says they offer either American, Asian, or Mediterreanian(sp?) food but I was wondering what that consists of? Like is American a hot dog or what? Thanks!

They are all cold. American is fried chicken, potato salad and apple pie, the Mediterranean is meats, cheeses, and some marinated veggies with tiramisu (only one I've eaten, it was quite good) the Asian is cold miso salmon, and I don't know what else. There's also a veggie one that's cold roasted veggies hummus and other crackers etc. Lastly there are kid packs. They are pretty good for being cold and the price isn't terrible, they were about $13 each with my pass discount. And we didn't have to wait in line for fp's. You can preorder them or purchase them day of. - Pixarprincess  544.5 #450 9:22AM
 Little Mermaid they actually have pictures and descriptions...agree with Pixarprincess really not that bad...if I had to do it over again I'd just pick the kids box... - toph  2418.2 #78 9:24AM
Thanks guys! This really helped - LittleMermaid  31.5 #6423 9:56AM
We bought it about 2pm and had the Asian. My teen and I both enjoyed it very much. It comes with a bottled drink. Other MWers gave high marks for the American and veggie options. - Song  2242.7 #88 10:54AM

WORLD OF COLOR TIPS: I have seen a lot of great advice from all of you here in the Lounge and on twitter so I am going to compile everything here with your help, thanks!

In a twitter poll that BCC ran, everyone said the Boardwalk was the best place to be, is that true? - Admin 7:57AM
Yellow is the best if you want to be up front and feel very immersed, red is good if you want to get very wet, and blue os good if you want to see it from a distance to see the entire scope of the show... For $40 you can get a dinner either at Ariel’s grotto or wine country trattoria and also get what they call "preferred seating" and it is centered but but you can't get on the to the waterline to get front row... (I've never had any experience with the preferred seating because I've never tried it)... The fastpasses are distributed from the grizzly river run fastpass queue (make sure you try to get there early) in the following order: blue, yellow, and then red. Tip: try to get there at least 15-25 minutes early prior to the FIRST listed time on your fastpass if you want front row seats... One final option is to go to the cove bar, pay $10 and watch it from there... They have food and space heaters but you won't get wet or feel immersed.... If you want more info, tap the "world of color" tag on the top of the page.. Enjoy the show! - DonaldMissingPants  304.1 #1028 1:19PM

QUESTION: when "Nightastic" ends in August, does that mean that WOC and Fantasmic will not be doing anymore shows?

If World of Color is not extended, it's scheduled to end after Labor Day. Fantasmic will continue Fri-Sun nights. - PrinceCorey  4613.1 #40 9:32PM
I'm pretty sure WOC will still be running after the Summer Nightastic promotion is over - iFramedRogerRabbit  1957.6 #105 9:32PM
I was told by a CM in Disney Dining that an extended WOC showing depends on popularity. So it's proabl safe to assume it will be extended. I was told to call on a Monday or Tuesday in august and they'll probably have more info. Check the website too - if they offer box picnics they'll have dining packages too. - CaliCanuck  534.4 #465 8:22AM
There is no way they would end WOC since most people have tried avoiding it over the summer due to the thousands that show up and what about all the ap's blocked out who haven't seens it? When I read their og post about it it's supposed to be a nightly show when the park is open late enough. Since DCA closes early a lot that might only be weekends but yeah - Smart.tea  206.7 #2076 8:40AM

QUESTION: for those of you that have gone to Disneyworld are there a lot of hotels around there that aren't Disney and are they cheaper?

I'm sure there are I saw a lot of hotels. I have only stayed on disney hotels though. Shuttlebus service was convenient. Kissimee is nearby. - E-Ticket  1796.0 #116 5:19PM
Yes all over.. I stayed Disney and had meal plan an everything included for 2100 fr family of 3. Stayed at all stars movies - GoofyJoe  1906.6 #107 5:55PM
Thank you guys so much for all the info! I'm going to a wedding in September in St. Augistine so we said might as well go to WDW!!! It's only two hours away so were gonna rent a car and drive there. I'm so excited! I've never been and I'm starting to plan it and it's overwhelming lol - LittleMermaid  31.5 #6423 10:49PM
We paid $2000 for 2 adults for 5days 6 nights. Plus food, 5 day tix, flight, hotel. The shuttle service is great. We didn't lift a finger for anything. So worth it. Stayed at all star music. I'm planning on staying longer for our next trip. - DznyHeart  81.2 #4190 10:57PM
