TBT: last year at the animation academy! We didn't even know it was a thing and stumbled in on a class looking for the beasts library but we had an awesome time! My drawing is the top and mouse spouses is the bottom. He thinks it's more like the Jay Leno of Tiggers!

Registered!! Anyone else spreading your pixie dust during the Tinker Bell half marathon weekend?
I didn't have the money this time around, but I will probably volunteer! - DisneyOnesie  529.1 #331 9:39AM
Awesome! One of these times I want to volunteer just to see the behind the scenes! - WallSchmee  48.3 #4375 12:43PM
Me either! They should've postponed it a few more months since they moved the race 4 months later. WDW and RunDisney registration in the same week is too much for me. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  620.6 #274 4:19AM
It's crazy how far in advance you have to register! A lot of my girlfriends want to do it but they can't plan their lives that far in advance for such a pricey trip! - WallSchmee  48.3 #4375 12:33PM

Has anyone done the Carthay circle world of color dining package?? Was it worth it or would we be better off just getting fast passes? Where exactly is the seating?
We have and really enjoyed it! The food is very good. World of Color does not have seating, but the Carthay Circle Theater has a great reserved viewing area. I suggest you get to the show early and stand in front of the railing. That way you will not have anyone standing in front of you. I hope you have a great time!!! Ah... I just read you post again. Their reserved viewing area is right in the center but not too close to the front were you get wet. - Boundin  510.7 #352 8:37PM
Thanks for the info! - WallSchmee  48.3 #4375 8:52PM
I felt it was worth it. A great meal and an unobstructed view of WOC...and we didn't have to line up too early to enter viewing area. Go for it! - carminaire  532.5 #327 8:43PM

Since I've been so lucky this month and won three RAKs, I have decided to keep the good vibes going and #RAK off this super sweet Captain America mason jar/reusable cup thing I have been eyeing for myself for ages! In order to enter you must be able to DM and just to make it fun tell me which Marvel Character you would love to get a photo with! I will pick a winner Monday August 11th at 9pm!
Love your sweet dog in the background!!🐶 - boogiemouse  7.4 #11125 10:11PM

We took my stepdaughter and a friend to another theme park in Northern California today and it was so depressing how undisneyland it was we had to leave early! So unkept and DIRTY!! Thank you disney cast members for all that you do!
“When I started on Disneyland, my wife used to say, ‘But why do you want to build an amusement park? They’re so dirty.’ I told her that was just the point–mine wouldn’t be.” - Walt Disney.  This is also why our custodial members costumes are white. - CM_Shadowgamer  2342.0 #46 2:43AM
Well they do an amazing job! Kudos to them! - WallSchmee  48.3 #4375 11:08AM
We were just at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and it is SO not disneyland. I'd trade all theme parks in the Bay Area to have disneyland! - BibbidiBobbidiMe  45.0 #4488 8:40AM
We went there a few weeks ago giving them another shot, BIG mistake.  I kept telling my wife that someone from that park needs to attend some sort of Disneyland training.  I'll just leave it at that since MW is my happy place - MermaidHunter  61.4 #4015 9:43AM
We went to great America and it was just depressing! Everything was broken and sunbleached! Including the "characters" walking around! All the people were depressed looking and bored! - WallSchmee  48.3 #4375 11:07AM
When my kids were little (in the late 90s lol) and we lived in Fairfield we would get season passes because it was close but I really don't enjoy any of the theme parks in Norcal and haven't been to one in years - lisaw  127.3 #2893 11:00PM
Lol, it's like shopping at Ross after you've been to Neiman Marcus or something--you almost can't even compare the two!  We went to Great America about five years ago, and we were done with the place by about 1 o'clock.     - Spoonful_O_Sugar  527.3 #336 11:00PM
We stayed until 4 but only because we figured if we drove 2 1/2 hours we should probably stay in the park more than the drive it took to get there. - WallSchmee  48.3 #4375 9:30AM
So when you see one of the CMs that take care of the bathrooms or removing trash tell them the good job they are doing. You surprise quite a few. And you might get a smile!!!! - TheHubs  206.0 #1780 9:36AM

Ok I need help! We are going to visit the park with some friends in October. In total there will be 6-8 adults average age about 30ish. One of our party will be celebrating a birthday and we want to go out to dinner all together in one of the parks. We would like a sit down meal preferably and the only place I can think of is Blue Bayou, anyone else have any suggestions?
Carnation Cafe, Plaza Inn, Cafe Orleans, Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, Carthay Circle, Wine Country Trattoria, and Ariel's Grotto are all in the parks.  More options are in the hotels, and they shouldn't be overlooked because they're kind of fantastic.  - susieQzee  547.4 #312 1:52AM
That's a lot more options thank you! Which of those restaurants are we less likely to encounter screaming beasties? And which of the hotel restaurants do you recommend? - WallSchmee  48.3 #4375 2:15AM
Thunder ranch would be a great option for a larger group:) - fab5  25.4 #5616 5:23AM
I've yet to go there! I hear the food is amazing! How's the atmosphere? - WallSchmee  48.3 #4375 11:17AM
If you click on Food-menus in the navigation, all of the restaurants are categorized by full service, counter service, etc. It is quite a helpful resource! - Thumper13  354.9 #572 6:34AM

Collage from a year ago today! The boyfriend and I got classy with the cocktails and then chowed down on a nacho dog and a pizza dog. From top left clockwise: a truffle olives martini, pear martini, another martini (don't judge I was with two teenagers!), and a strawberry julep....since today is national hot dog day I thought it appropriate to share!!

Registration for the tinkerbell marathon is coming up and by that time I will be an annual pass holder (yay!) but that Saturday is a black out date! Is there anything you can do besides buying a day pass so that I can enjoy a day in the park after the run??
Before they offer a Twilight pass ticket (enter after 4pm). However, i am not sure if they discontinue it - otilegna  1785.1 #69 7:00AM
I'll have to look into that, the race is early morning though, I would want to be there all day showing off my medal! - WallSchmee  48.3 #4375 9:28AM
I don't think they do the twilight pass anymore :( Maybe upgrading your AP would be a good idea?   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  527.3 #336 9:44AM
Hmm....I'll have to think about it, you would think that if you are already paying $70-$300 for a race they would make an exception for pass holders!  - WallSchmee  48.3 #4375 10:17AM
Haha, right?!  But sadly, nope!   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  527.3 #336 10:22AM
Can you wait and get your pass that day? If you do, then you can go into the parks the first time even if it's a block out date. We try and do that when we renew, so we can go on a Saturday. Or, you can volunteer for two shifts at the Expo prior to the race and they will give you a one day, one park pass as a thank you 😊 - goofymom2boys  1430.4 #89 11:14AM
Good idea!   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  527.3 #336 11:16AM

Does anyone have a good pedometer app for the iPhone that they use in the park? I would love to see how much you actually walk during a day at Disneyland!

Do you have the iPhone 5s? It has one built in. You can use FitBit for free. I do about 20-30k steps in a day. - DLKenCA  1524.0 #82 1:53PM
Really? What app is it? - Thumper13  354.9 #572 1:55PM

Thanks! - Thumper13  354.9 #572 5:30PM
I just have the iPhone 5 so it's not the same :(  - WallSchmee  48.3 #4375 10:50PM
I use a fitbit $99 There is an app that syncs with fitbit all day. It does not use up the phone battery like Nike run or other apps others have mentioned.  Expensive yes if you use it only in the parks as a pedometer.  I use it daily to monitor my overall fitness health and progress! - schoolmsw  31.0 #5152 7:56AM
Map my Run is what I use, never tried it in the park though.  I used it for a long run the other day (2 hours, and my battery wasn't drained--I was able to use my phone as I normally would for the rest of the day without charging it).  I bet you'd get 5+ hours out of it.  Whatever you get, be sure to pause the workout while you're on rides--unless you're on something like the canoes or the treehouse, of course!  This is a common mistake people make, and those rides add up but you're not getting any exercise while you're on them (think of how long a ride like Indy or Screamin is, lol).   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  527.3 #336 8:17AM
Good point!  Distance could definitely be overestimated while on rides. - MabelMouse  101.9 #3349 8:25AM
All that jostling around😂😂But I think if you're on something that's making you laugh really hard, you're getting a great ab workout😂😂 - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  3959.6 #24 8:26AM
😂👍👏 Soooo true, chuzza!  It's not mileage, but laughter is my fave workout!   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  527.3 #336 8:29AM
So funny you mention this.  I was at San Diego zoo last week and was tracking the distance.  I was amazed at how far we walked until I remembered that I didn't pause it on the 2 moving walk ways and the Skyfari!   - msdizmaui  623.1 #272 2:57PM

That's awesome! I'm gonna try this for all my trips!! - WallSchmee  48.3 #4375 10:34PM
amyb1076 you should have 120 saved if you want to go by my count of 15 weeks - draven898  282.2 #913 10:58PM
Our change (and money from recycling bottles/cans) goes into a POTC bank, specifically for our DL trips.  It's amazing how it adds up! - msdizmaui  623.1 #272 1:20AM
Change is the ultimate savings device! Especially since I almost exclusively use cash since I'm a bartender and always have it on me! We save change in another bank and that's our food/souvenir money! - WallSchmee  48.3 #4375 9:26AM
We do a countdown calendar for the last three weeks before every trip.  We just cross off days as they come.  It reminds us of our trip every day so it keeps us in a Disney mood. - goofykriskid  44.5 #4506 8:04AM
Another little savings idea, is to look at the receipts after shopping. Take the money "saved" and put it towards your vacation. I use coupons, so that adds up over time.  - Sugarbuzz  134.7 #2794 9:34AM
