I would like to welcome Tink to my family :) she was just received to allow for a way more mobile and safe visit in May :) she is the same brand as the one I rented while in the park last October. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to still enjoy my favorite place. Here's to being powered by pixie dust!!!!

Thank you all!! My poor wheelchair battery was not up to Disneyland last year so I am thankful for this one :) I hate being in the way so I try and be very aware and caref :) in October I got shoved into a corner in my chair and a sweet lady with a double stroller had to block for me to get out ;)  I do know that I look young and healthy so I get lots of looks but I know that I have MS and also know that without the chair I would not be able to go anywhere so I deal with it :)  - kcary956  46.7 #5025 10:12PM

It sure does :) and I am able to do it all by myself :))) the heaviest part is 52lbs according to the detail sheet.  - kcary956  46.7 #5025 1:26PM

When I am in Disneyland I know no strangers!!! With that being said i had a great seat for a parade and while sitting there I met a sweet mother and daughter from Canada (they were on there first bus tour) then a wonderful family from Maui who invited me to come see the islands and gave me all the tips on getting a cheap flight and when to plan so I can see he whales (she recently battled and won  More...

I think the electric scooters  aren't that easy to maneuver without a lot if practice. If it's easier to get a wheelchair , that might be best. With a lot of people completely unaware of the many guests around them, the scooters can be hard to stop. You sound very considerate so you probably are trying not to mow people down in the scooter. I've been hit with them a few times by people who rented them because they don't like walking. It hurt and i told them so. But most people who've bumped me are so apologetic, how could I be upset,  it's hard for them to need one. And it's hard to then drive it. So I hope the wheelchair helps better.  - secretagentangel  5757.6 #22 2:42PM

Not usually a morning person but 6am can not get here fast enough:) wheel chair is packed and I get to be in my happy place for the next 10 days :) hopefully the new limitations and wheel chair will be an easy adjustment!! Does any one know if I can keep in injections in first aid so I can do my shots there and not have to go act to my room?

You should be able to store there. I would call first to check - DLKenCA  2729.1 #51 7:46PM
Wow? 10 days!?! I'm so excited for you. Enjoy! Im no help with your shots though, but I did read you can keep refrigerated meds at first aid, so maybe. - sultan  45.4 #5075 7:49PM

I am sooooooo ready for this trip though I am a little nervous since it will be my first trip in a wheelchair but I will be in my happy place. Any suggestions on bringing/renting electronic wheelchairs? I have one but it will not stay charged for full days in the park.

If you rent at the parks and the battery dies you can call and they will bring you a new one anywhere in the park. - toarrispirate  363.7 #650 2:19PM
I have had pretty good luck with ECV rental from Apple scooter they drop off and pick up from your hotel fairly reasonably priced compared to Disney ECV's - disneybob49  646.7 #319 2:23PM
I walk with braces and crutches to be mobile, so when I know that I'm going to walk a lot I rent a scooter. I've rented from Apple, a Scooter 4 U and Deckert Surgical who will all deliver and pick up to your hotel Bell Services Desk; they are pretty comparable for rates, but Deckert was recommended by Disney Travel Co. and they had a crutch holder for each of my crutches and Scooter 4 U I had to stuff them in the same holder which was a super tight fit and not convenient when I wanted to get them out or put them away by myself. Still, all 3 companies are good and if you able to sit with in a scooter vs electric wheelchair (which gives more back support and helps if you have limited motion in using your hands to steer.) Hope this helps! 😁 - Catski23  22.8 #7036 5:27PM
My parents have to use the scooters whenever we're at the parks and we always plug in when we're eating but  the batteries generally last awhile for us. - SarahAnne  1.1 #0 7:39PM

A little sad I was suppose to go to Disneyland this month to celebrate graduating massage therapy school and about four weeks ago I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and have been having a really hard time with heat, fatigue, and dizziness so I am having Disney withdrawals :( so I wanted to say hi and hope everyone is having a great summer.

Big congrats on your graduation, but I'm very sorry to hear of your diagnosis.  Hopefully you will get to experience the parks when it's a little cooler and you've had some more time to adjust (as a side note, Halloween/fall is my fave time!)   Be Sure that you visit City Hall to find out about a Disability Access Service card (DAS).  This should help you avoid having to wait in some hot, long lines.  I do not know the details, but I wanted you to be aware that DL has this program available, in case you didn't know.   Hope your next trip isn't too far away!   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  622.1 #337 5:37PM
I used a DAS when I was having chemo and CM got me on and off quickly. Everyone was wonderful and very understanding. I also stayed on property and they got my room ready early so I could rest when ever I needed to. Disney is very accommodating for special needs.  - Bassplayerswife  624.8 #335 7:07PM

Do any cast members on here know what happens when you submit a compliment with city hall?? I had the most amazing experience two different times with the same cast member so I took her info to city hall and filled out the compliment form but want to make sure she gets something for it :)

My advice is always try to give as much detail as possible so it will be deemed "comment worthy" now I know that sounds harsh, but if we know more detail, chances are higher for it to get to the cast member! Names, times, locations, and dates are essential! And also leaving a detailed message of why the CM was wonderful helps! After that, it is sent off to that person's management team and they can receive some kind of recognition on a job well done! Different areas handle these compliments differently! More than likely the comment will at some point make it's way to the CM :) hope this helped! - samichtu  3.1 #38622 10:22PM
That was a huge help!!! Thank you! I had a receipt so they had the name, location plus time and date with no problem and I have them a full description of the reasons this cast member was amazing and how she helped me so hopefully it will get to her.  - kcary956  46.7 #5025 5:15PM
They go on the employees record. But like samichtu said, they need to be specific. Β This is to make sure the right cm gets it. Lots of CMs have the same name and with the same location.Β  - NoHolds  7.6 #13572 5:22PM
When I was at City Hall giving a compliment a couple weeks ago, I asked how soon they sent out the compliments. They said they send them out every night to the right department. But it is up to that department's management staff on how soon they would pass along the compliment. - BriHizzle  374.8 #617 6:05PM
A compliment is one of the best things a CM can get. And yup, as the others said just describe the situation and the CM will really appreciate it :) - msflashie  18.3 #7896 6:27PM
