We always check the weather for Gorman and Frazier Park (two towns on the Grapevine) whenever we need to drive to SoCal during the winter. I haven't driven it recently, but it seems unlikely that it would be cold enough for sleet, snow, or ice. - Spoonful_O_Sugar
