We use to go all out. Decorated the house  pumpkins and lots of kids to hand out candy not many kids around anymore so we do it for a couple of hours and call it a night

We decorate. We Β play our Haunted Mansion cd loud on outdoor speakers to try and get kids to come to the house. David and Rain dress up as HatBox and attic bride and we hand out candy. Β I'm gonna try and get my oldest to sketch out the hitchhiking ghosts on some wood. I'll have David cut them out, and stand them up in the yard. But since she draws for a living she isn't always happy to do it for me for free lol. - OhanaPhoto  6607.3 #20 10:26PM
We used to always have the plywood cut outs for Christmas. Now I buy the air blown onesπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚it must   be fun to dress up to scare the neighborhood kidsπŸ˜³πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - secretagentangel  8878.4 #11 10:42PM
We only scare the bigger kids hahaha. Bigger kids are way more fun to scare. They run, scream my daughter in particular loves scaring them. If we notice the little ones are skittish, we tone down the scary :)Β  - OhanaPhoto  6607.3 #20 7:51AM
Hi!  Hope you had a good day. Decent one here, and last week's challenges had happy endings. I never get many trick or treaters in the neighborhood, so I stopped doing that. I'll often be out and about, go to Disneyland or work late or see a movie. Am I a Halloween version of Scrooge? 😞 - redsoxcarlos  4288.5 #38 9:21PM
No you are no Scrooge! Some ppl just don't care that much for Halloween unless they have kids. It's my honey's favorite holiday and he LOVES visiting Disney during this time and going to MHP. Do you ever go to MHP? - SKELLIGIRL  117.3 #3403 9:25PM
I did once with a friend, back on the DCA side. No fireworks or parade, and not really into gathering candy. Sounds more fun now, so I might try it again in a group, but probably not solo.  - redsoxcarlos  4288.5 #38 9:37PM
Hehe! I thought my post was deleted because I couldn't find it and it does it every now and then when I click on of late. So I refreshed and there it is!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚!! On !  - secretagentangel  8878.4 #11 9:38PM
There are so many tickets available for that night on eBay so I'm thinking of going that night.   I always get a lot of candy on Halloween night. And I really get into seeing how much candy I can collect. Then I can give  most of it to the VA so it's fun and I still don't have to eat it allπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - secretagentangel  8878.4 #11 9:39PM
Fui primero???  Hay que bueno! !! πŸ˜€  That's a great idea to take the candy to the VA!   - redsoxcarlos  4288.5 #38 10:01PM
Agreed 100%. We don't get trick or treaters anymore in our neighborhood. Good thing cause I wouldn't answer the door anymore.  - Bobbierocha  195.6 #2147 10:36PM
Aloha. Today has been another busy day making ears and taking care of my sick kiddo. Since my birthday is the day before Halloween, we always make it into a big deal. The house gets decorated, we carve pumpkins, have a big Halloween cake, and go trick or treating as well. Halloween time is really one of my favorite times of the year. - DarthTinkerbell  1321.2 #146 11:52PM
Sorry I missed this last night. I was busy doing work on my phone after I jogged and I fell asleep in my car😜 do they tend to give you birthday presents related to Halloween? How fun that you decorate and have a big cake. My favorite is carving pumpkins. - secretagentangel  8878.4 #11 1:58PM
i put a few halloween things outside.  i have had contractors here the last two days to deal with the stuff the contractors did not fix right over the summer.....  Calgon,  take me away!!!!!!  πŸ›€πŸΎ - MsTikiMermadam  1583.2 #122 12:52AM
Hopefully they fix it right this time. And hopefully because the city saw that they messed it up the city will keep an ion it and make sure they did it right. I think you can actually call the city and have them inspect it. But once it's done and get through that first rain you'll be happy. Do you have trick-or-treaters at your house? - secretagentangel  8878.4 #11 1:59PM

Wow this a deep question. Home is so special to us. We brought DD here from the hospital after she was born and so many great memories.

Family and a sense of belonging! - clawton  350.1 #729 9:58PM
And a little anecdote to elaborate... Sometimes when I've been away from home for more than a few days and if I feel a bit lonely at night in bed, I just look at my watch and pretend that I'm just checking the time in my own home. Weird, but it seems to make a little of the loneliness go away...☺ - clawton  350.1 #729 10:03PM
Agreed. The warm and comfy feeling of home makes all seem right in the world.  - DarthTinkerbell  1321.2 #146 10:33PM
After years of deployments and rentals and owning and selling and traveling and RV life and hotel stays and couch-hopping, I can honestly say that Home is together with my menfolk. A tent is a castle with them, a mansion's just a box without them.  - SassafrasDavis  673.3 #332 10:14PM
Yes, so much this. My family has also moved around quite a bit, and I find that it's the feelings of home that are so special, as opposed to the physical structure. As long as we are surrounded by our loved ones, all is well. - DarthTinkerbell  1321.2 #146 10:42PM
Side note...have you seen all the Monty Python gifs in the new iPhone update? I almost sent you like a gazillion of them today.πŸ˜‚ - DarthTinkerbell  1321.2 #146 10:43PM
DarthTinkerbell No! 😱 please send me a gazillion of them today!! 😍 - SassafrasDavis  673.3 #332 1:01AM
This is gonna sound weird, but my kitchen sink and concrete counter πŸ˜‚ it was the best home improvement we did.  - OhanaPhoto  6607.3 #20 7:55AM
We're thinking of doing concrete counters. They wear well then? I'm just worried it might be too much grey - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  705.9 #306 8:37PM
HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  We had it done 6 years ago and we still love it. I love grey tho :) - OhanaPhoto  6607.3 #20 7:48AM
I love grey too, but our walls are grey and so is the tile and probably the carpet. Granted, it's all different shades. - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  705.9 #306 9:19AM
A good question!  I grew up in the same house my parents finished building the week before they brought me home from the hospital.  They still live there, and it's beautiful; I love the property and my hometown.  However, in my adult life, I've moved around so much (3 times in the first 15 months of marriage alone!), so I've basically lived both extremes.  Home now is the atmosphere much more than the physical space...and funny things trigger the feeling of home: the smell of cozy coffee, the smell of a fire, the Mikasa dish set I bought when I first moved out of my parents (we still use them), the blankies that my husband's grandmother knit us, watching Friends, reading Harry Potter, the books on my bookshelf, sitting on the couch we've had for ten years with our matter where we are at physically, those things are the constants in our lives.  And funny thing is, some people, when they move, want new furniture and new things to fill the house with and start fresh, but for me, I've found that I don't want that: I want what's familiar.   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  669.3 #335 9:25PM

Ok everyone. Thanks for stopping by a sharing your memories. I going to call it a night but keep on commenting and we'll see you in the morning. Night

Hi all! My first trip that I remember I was 4 years old. The MSEP and the 3 bugs that roll around. It came right up to me and bowed his head right to me! My dad was so happy that I would always have that memory. I was also there in my Mom's belly and at 2 years old but don't remember those times obviously 😁 - sheridanrabbit  739.8 #295 10:01PM

Good morning. First I have never been to dl πŸ˜ͺ hope to one day. I never made it to DW as a child, we were a very low income family so never did vacations, never stayed in hotels. When I got married it was pretty much the same way as when I was a child. I had an uncle who went to DW with his family every few years and in 1992 he said his girls were going to compete at DW for dance and did we want to go? He would make the plans and we would pay him $ to be our banker from then till when we go in June of 1993. I was 36 and my kids were 13, 15, 17. We did 3 parks ( animal kingdom was not there yet) but we did discovery island which is not there now. We did river country water park but it is no longer there. And we did downtown Disney and pleasure island and their fireworks which is not there now. We stayed off property, which since that year have never stayed off property again. It was an amazing time, we were all in awe of everything. Every time I go I have moments of those memories and am very thankful for my uncle.  - mmddgp  1474.3 #4 5:39AM

I miss marching band so much!  I did it all through high school and college (and we marched in a parade each year in junior high). Competing in high school were some of the best times with great friends!  And cold was routine. During football games we often would only play in the stands during the first half, play at halftime, and then pack up the instruments so they wouldn't freeze!  - IDVandalSkipperCM  2642.8 #59 10:36PM

Thanks for hosting especially since your not feeling well. Love cooler fall weather. Nice right now but suppose to be in the mid nineties late next week. Ugh. I'd love some πŸͺπŸͺπŸͺwith a cold glass of milk

Howdy howdy! Sorry you're feeling under the weather. My cold came back so I think it's one of those hanger on kind that is going to be here for a few months so I'm trying to just ignore it. I thought the rain was coming Saturday at least down here. I have to go cover a couple things then I'm in the middle of moving.and I am in the middle of moving a bunch of stuff to storage so I really hope it doesn't rain hard. Though we need the rain. OK , I order the rain to be only at nightπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - secretagentangel  8878.4 #11 9:29PM

Haven't been traveling much over the last few years. Have done a lot of the states but not overseas. Need to pick it up soon

Bonjour, first day back after being off. The only bad thing the happened, was going to work. I love to travel. I prefer long trips. I would like to see some of Europe. I would also like to go back to Alaska. - Lelundrial  836.6 #246 9:26PM
We are planning an Alaskan cruise in 2018 or 2019. Never been. I was stationed in Germany. It was great. I was traveling every chance I had.  - Sugarbuzz  304.8 #960 9:46PM
I bet you would have a great time in Europe. Alaska sounds fun and I've heard the Alaskan cruises are  really wonderful.are used to travel I guess I've become more used to home lately. Hope tomorrow that works a bit better☺️ - secretagentangel  8878.4 #11 9:54PM
Hi! Great day! Met up with @LuvsTigger, her mini, her boyfriend and @WhatTiggersDoBest. Nice lil mall visitπŸ™‚ here in NorCal.  We love traveling.  For our little getaways Disneyland hits the spot. Road trips are always a crazy adventure. We rent a van take as many friends we can fit and just drive.  We live off milk, oreos and sleeping in parking lots. Lol. When we have a little more money, Hawaii is our go to place.  My bucket list destinations are Bora Bora for obvious reasons, Scotland to see where me and my husband's ancesters are from, Italy because it looks so old and beautiful there, and I would love to go on an African Safari.   - OhanaPhoto  6607.3 #20 11:33PM

Awww! Thanks! That really helps cheer me up. I was getting a little bit anxious the last two days. But I know God is helping me. I just now to shouldn't stay up late trying to get work done because then you can't get work done the rest of the morning . And Churro does a great job on sticker night and so does DarthTinkerbell! She's normally on Tuesdays but she's on vacation. And the other hosts including newbies have been helping me fill in the schedule so it's been working real nice. It's actually a blessing doing up late. You get to meet a lot of new people , so sometimes the first time they ever talk is on one of these posts and you get to show people see how we are a community. And I really get to know people every couple nights on here. So it's nice. And thank you again.😍😘 - secretagentangel  8878.4 #11 9:56PM

I don't remember the music, but maybe it's because we usually sit inside.  Maybe we need to start exploring the outdoor tables more.  Now that it's supposed to be cooling down, we can do that.  This is my very favorite place.  Everything is so    and  - Winnie111286  24907.2 #1 12:38PM

White Water Snacks doesn't come with bacon or sausage and it's a Quick Service, not a Table Service. That is probably a reason for the lesser price, mush less.  For children, this sounds better.  They just really want the waffles. misschurro - Winnie111286  24907.2 #1 12:14PM

I might be alone here, but have never had a good burger at the park, except Carthay, that wasn't bad. Cooking an angus burger till it's a hockey puck is like painting a Ferrari pink with spray paint. However your mileage may vary  - dizneedude  1859.8 #103 3:50AM
🎢you are not alone🎢 Though, I haven't tried Carthay and some people say Uva serves a pretty good burger.  We made a deal years ago that if we really want burgers, we leave DL property.  πŸ˜‚  - Spoonful_O_Sugar  669.3 #335 6:27AM
Pink! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I definitely prefer a burger cooked over a flame vs a flat grill. Spoonful_O_Sugar πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I always sing that song, too, when someone says that. I tried Uva once. Same here, good burger at Carthay, not anywhere else...yet... Smokejumper's toppings bar was enough to hide the "spongey grey beefishness" of the one I tried there, but perhaps that was an off day. And misschurro I wanna hear your "Chaudie So" story. - SassafrasDavis  673.3 #332 7:01AM
I knew I had seen that song posted before πŸ˜‚ I don't think I know that story but I'm intrigued  misschurro - Spoonful_O_Sugar  669.3 #335 7:19AM
Years ago I had met up with my girlfriend at the Uva restaurant for dinner. We were seated upstairs on the balcony eating area, outside at the edge. It was so beautiful and pleasant, people milling about, below. We ordered a lovely skewered chorizo(grilled) with olives. When it arrived, we couldn't believe what a small amount it was! 😳We're talking, like, French servings. πŸ˜‚. The 4 tiny pieces of chorizo had been grilled much too long and looked a bit dry. I volunteered to slide everything off the skewers, and suggested that we could pick and choose what we wanted to nibble on. So, I grabbed my fork and started the process. The first olive came off, no prob. The next little chorizo was so dried out, that when I pushed the fork down on it to get it off the skewer, there was resistance. We both giggled a bit. I tried again. That morsel musta been super-glued!πŸ˜‚ Finally, with one good strike, it wiggled loose!! The fork hit the plate, made a LOUD noise, the chorizo slid off the plate, hit the table, and bounced on the floor! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ Who knew chorizo bounced?? πŸ€”. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚We then were laughing about how what if it fell over the side & hit an unsuspecting someone πŸ˜±πŸ˜‚ - misschurro  7995.1 #14 8:13AM
