Well my heart is aching. After a long discussion a decision has been reached and we will not be returning for Christmas at Disneyland. I am going to miss it this year so much! :(

Question and opinions please. My family has been invited to go to Club 33 this fall. We are thinking of declining the invitation. Our 18 month old is the reason why. He is not the kind of child to sit still and is definitely not quiet either. Are we crazy to decline a once in a lifetime opportunity? We really want to go, but it seems like an inappropriate place for him and child care is not an opt  More...
In all honesty i applaud that you say you dont think clubb 33 is appropriate for a baby. Cuz IMO its not. Some people are enjoying their first and probably only time there too and if im trying to soak that in having a squirmy child either running around or being disruptive id be very mad. Im so sorry you even have to consider declining but go for a sitter. Club 33 is so magical just being there. - ScarfGirl  638.6 #262 11:18PM
^agreed. - tuesday737  1235.0 #106 11:21PM

Much better said than me! - MrsSchnooks  2764.7 #36 11:34PM
First, I honestly respect your opinions, and don't mean to ruffle any feathers. But it is just a restaurant at the end of the day. The only place I've had an issue was a first class flight, and it was a nonissue, my daughter behaved fine regardless of the person's objection in 2b. With that said why would this be an issue at a child friendly place like Disneyland? You all have sat at a play, restaurant, county club, or other venue without thinking "children don't belong". Why at Club 33? What makes it so elitist? I am not looking for debate, but don't understand this view, although I respect it. Personally I would rather not go if people feel so strongly that it is disrupting their enjoyment. - dizneedude  639.5 #261 12:17AM
I think every kid is different. But to lump a place that few will get the chance to see in with any other establishment is silly. The point is that a disruptive child could really put a damper on the experience of all the guests, even the parents of the child. This is also a very costly meal and it would be a shame to risk having to leave or not being able to fully enjoy it. I would want time to soak it all in and be able to offer the same to fellow diners. - cynDOLEwhip  1175.5 #116 12:48AM
It's about the same price as Napa, for me children make every experience better. No matter what. I realize I'm in the minority here (on admittance not kids), I just don't understand the elitist view. I shall keep my opinions to myself, I'm not trying to change minds. - dizneedude  639.5 #261 12:56AM
I can name a few things children don't make better 😂 - cynDOLEwhip  1175.5 #116 12:57AM
Well, she said he's not the type of child to be still or quiet. Me personally, I have no problem going to other Disney restaurants but Club 33 is an invite only, once in a lifetime, save your pennies experience for many. I want to go there with my husband for a romantic date or with my Mom to celebrate her birthday. I am sensitive to many types of noises in general so whether it's clanking of silverware or music too loud I make sure I am sat in a section where I can enjoy my meal. I can guarantee you I would not be able to relax in the environment of a disruptive child. That's just me. Other people it doesn't bother and in other restaurants where my meal is equal to the tip at Club 33 it wouldn't matter. Again, this is a once in a lifetime experience for many. - MrsSchnooks  2764.7 #36 1:00AM
Thanks for diffusing :) lets agree to disagree. - dizneedude  639.5 #261 1:00AM
Last comment was meant for Cyn, Schnook I'd happily buy you a meal :) (all others here to, it is nothing personal just academic). Sorry for my strong views, if, no when we meet I'll tell you a story. - dizneedude  639.5 #261 1:09AM
Club 33, is Not "just a restaurant" It's an experience that some may only have once in their life. A screaming child could pretty much ruin that experience for some people (myself included) - tuesday737  1235.0 #106 1:15AM
Yes you are crazy. Find a sitter for your mini. not a place i would take a small child anyway. out of respect for other guests at the club. - dimplesdanie  1236.7 #105 9:33PM
You have a good point. There are other people there who are also experiencing their once in a lifetime event. A disruptive child can ruin this for them. Get a sitter or don't go until a later time. - DisneyGrandma  694.9 #231 10:12PM
Respectfully, I don't think anyone going there would be annoyed by a baby. Even the Polo Lounge welcome children. - dizneedude  639.5 #261 10:31PM
Perhaps I should say "I wouldn't be annoyed". - dizneedude  639.5 #261 12:28AM
Something else to think about. If another member complains about a real bad situation with a child, the member that got you in possibly risks getting in trouble to. We thought about that too before going. I would not want to be the "bad guest" of the member. - DLKenCA  1580.1 #82 1:07AM
Thank you everyone for your kind opinions. Every time my husband and I discuss it we are always concerned about other guests. We were told that we would probably not be in the main dining area, but a more jungle themed room (it's name escapes me). I wished there was some way that I could make this work. It just seems to be the right decision not to go. :( - ainsleysmom  120.1 #3047 7:27AM
Probably the Trophy Room...see my reply above! Separation anxiety is a very common phase and usually only lasts for the first few minutes when the parents leave...plenty of time to "practice" with sitters before Fall :) - MissMolly  1221.6 #109 7:33AM
