My last installment of Town Square shows photos of one of my favorite classic Disneyland attractions, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. This one has Walt written all over it; history, patriotism, showmanship, and of course, the innovation of "tomorrow." Here's a photo of Walt with Victor Green (WED Project Manager) and the model for this attraction:  More...

Guests are getting ready for a Starbucks invasion on Main Street, U.S.A. as the opening date approaches. In December of 1955, there was no need for Starbucks; Disneyland had Maxwell House Coffee, seen in the background of this 1955 photo:  More...

Maxwell House is not really a household name any longer. I think it's great that Disney is keeping up with change, by adding Starbucks. Is Starbucks my favorite? No, but I still purchase it bc it's consistant. MH is not anything I'd ever buy. They've always had great sponsors and brand recognition is huge.  - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  5204.9 #17 2:29PM
This area is still called the Egg House after what it used to be. Also, there is now the embroidery shop there too. - BaseballMickey_CM  6865.4 #9 11:13PM
the egg house was several years after the Maxwell house in the late 70s - Dave   12448.1 #2 11:03AM
I'd be totally cool with Starbucks "sponsoring" it, like Maxwell House and others in the past. Turning it INTO a Starbucks is what I'm against! - msdizmaui  637.9 #282 6:54PM
I totally agree! - MelodyMouse  4020.0 #26 8:28PM
I hope it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb... Does anyone know what the front is going to look like??? Is it really a full Starbucks cafe right in the park? - ames013  93.0 #3539 7:44PM
Have you seen the one in DCA? It's done quite tastefully - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  5204.9 #17 11:15PM
I'm with HMACIF; I half-expected the Starbucks on BVS to be an eyesore. I was very pleased with how they did it and now it's one of my favorite places to relax in DCA. I'm sure as a Main Street landmark the Market House updates will be equally tasteful. - makingmemories  311.8 #761 1:23AM
