in only 4 short days we will be inside the Disneyland park!!!! Dan still doesn't know which is awesome I could keep it a secret for this long. Thanks to everyones support and great tips we are able to bring my mini's friend that has never been to Disneyland. This is going to be one amazing week!!!
Fun! We surprised our kids last spring. It was so much fun. We walked from the hotel and were literally walking to bag check before my oldest realized we were going to the parks. It was priceless.  - Aussysmom  88.9 #3484 11:24AM

***Post approved by admin*** Hello fellow MWER’s, I first want to apologize for the length of this post I think it is necessary to give a little background. I am posting this in secret from my husband, I know that seems a little odd   More...
keep an eye out on the local hotels, last week someone posted a coupon for a three night stay for $100,  now i wish i bought one!!  if you are far away from park, we can all come pick you up, are you flying or driving by the way?  I can help you at the parks with my discount but not sure on other ideas.  May God bless you all and heal him, so he may have many more wonderful days with his loving family. In Jesus's name, Amen.  I am adding you all to my prayer list, and anything I can help with, let me know.  Oh, thought of one, buy disney gift cards at target now with the red program (you sign up with your checking account) and they give you 5% off disney and most gift cards.  hope to see you there!! - secretagentangel  1198.2 #103 9:55PM
Please DM me and I'd be happy to help plan your trip... - BombFrogCM  640.5 #247 9:38PM
I want to start out by thanking everyone for your generous words, great ideas and info, and outstanding acts of kindness. This means to world to me to know that there are others out there that really do have a special place in their heart to offer help when help is needed. That is a wondrous virtue in this world. Especially when it is not like me or my family to ask for help even when we know we can use the help. The information that you all have provided me is excellent and greatly appreciated. It has helped me come up with different things that I know can help our budget but still ensure a stress free excellent vacation. Also while I am not the type that is a freeloader I cant tell you how much it means to me to have some of you that live close by offer to help in such a way as you have. I think now I will plan a run to the store after we get out there that Saturday. Stuff like Costco muffins and cereal in our hotel room is a great money saving idea for breakfasts and would pretty much ensure we would save almost the entire cost of a weeks worth of breakfasts. The same goes for lunches. I plan to do something like sandwiches and lunchables and a few snacks or fruit for lunch. So much money would be saved by doing that as well. Then we could just have dinners in DLR or DTD and the occasional Churro to splurge.I was not aware that you could get free cups of ice water. Does that also apply to just a free cup of ice? I am thinking of when I go to the store after we first get there of getting a couple of cases of water. This way each of us could bring in a few closed water bottles each day. For flavoring we can buy those individual koolade or crystal lite packets and flavor our water when we open it. I know all to well how hydrated that Dan needs to be and the use of water in place of soda all the time will really really help. We have our own wheelchair so the rental fee in nothing we have to worry about as we plan on taking the wheelchair with us. I was not aware of the GAC's. I will make that a top priority. Does that apply to the entire trip or just one day at a time? Also does that apply to DCA? I am thankful that you all mentions eating at Rancho Del Zocalo. We haven't eaten there in years and I forgot that the portion sizes were pretty good size. That is a great tip. Another thing that you all can help me on, is there any family restrooms that he would be able to access with the wheelchair more easily than a crowded mens room stall? Another questions as I know this would make the trip even more enjoyable to my family is, where is the closest Rite Aid? Being originally from Southern Cali my family has grown such a liking for Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream. Which even though we have Rite Aids out here they do not sell the Thrifty's brand ice cream. Again thanks for any help you can suggest. It is greatly appreciated. One final thing that some of you may be able to help with some ideas. The last time Dan flew which was about a yr and a half ago he had not been diagnosed yet with the Cancer. That flight caused him to have so many problems it landed him in the ER for almost a week from bleeding out. We do not know if something like this will happen. We also do not know how he will do as the week prior he will have 5 consecutive days of treatment and the final treatment day is the day before we leave. We plan not only to make sure he is fully hydrated that entire week prior to the trip. We also plan for the morning we leave to have him take his pain meds and antinausea meds as soon as we get to DIA. Does anyone have suggestions of other things to possible do or try so that he does not end up in the ER again? Should anyone want to stay in contact with me, I am more than happy to. With where we live anytime I am on a phone call I have a 30 second delay. So texting is the easiest way to reach me. When I am at work in the city I can talk on the phone. However only for an hour a day on my lunch. Please feel free to DM me if you would like my number and would like to stay in contact.Kristy - FantasmicallyFantasticDisneyFans  18.6 #6391 4:28PM
Ok, the most important answer is there is a Rite Aid 2 miles from DL and they carry your families favorite ice cream. Yes, called! LOL There is a Costco just a little further down the road so this is a very easy trip for me or anyone to help you with. Your GAC is good for two weeks. You can just get cups of ice. If you want to refill your water bottles, the water at First Aid is chilled and the way to go. They are amazingly helpful. There is a  $.99 store close by where you can get Kool Aid/Whyler's packets for water. You get 8 to a box for $.99 down here. I'm going to pass off the bathroom question to another MWer since hubby and I haven't paid attention to the restrooms too much. I dm'd you my # and it's easier to text me too. Feel free to contact me with any questions! Hugs!!! - MrsSchnooks  2656.4 #35 6:12PM
I do know there is a family bathroom next to aladdins oasis. There are a few others located between the two parks but I'm not sure where. - missmimi90  1363.7 #89 6:29PM
I was thinking of bathrooms next to Flo's in DCA/Cardland and BugsLand/DCA and then the  "MW" bathroom behind the tour check in booth. - MrsSchnooks  2656.4 #35 6:42PM
During our stay last time, we had Von's deliver to our hotel. We pre ordered everything online. Because it was our first order, the delivery was free! We didn't have a rental car, so this was perfect. You can pick your delivery window. It saved us a ton of money, and the convenience was the best. Hope this helps.  - PixieMom  212.1 #1680 7:19PM
just to add to this, the GAC is only good for  two weeks if you are an AP but if you get other tickets, they will give you a GAC for the duration of your trip, make sure to ask for it for all the consecutive days you will be there so you don't have to go back each day.  I dm'd you my info too, and I thought there was a family restroom near first aid in DCA but not sure, I am sure we will all look for more in the next few days for you.  if you go on the disney blog and put in disabled, there are a couple of pages that give info too.So glad you are getting so much help!! - secretagentangel  1198.2 #103 9:01PM
We used a lot of these tips on our trip to WDW too, I liked the idea of packing food and stuff in my luggage, cuz then I knew I'd  have space for souvenirs on the way back.  πŸ˜œ  There is a companion restroom in aladdin's oasis and I believe one by the princess fantasy faire (not sure if it's still open since the remodel).  If he gets tired during the day, the first aid on Main Street and on Buena vista street will let him rest and take a nap.  It is well staffed with medical professionals.  They also have some basic medications if needed.   - bluefairy  643.2 #244 9:19PM
Almost forgot, if you have amazon prime, or it's early enough in your trip for free shipping, it can be easy and cheap to just order what you need and have it shipped to the hotel.  A few days before leaving for WDW, I decided I needed a bigger memory card for my camera.  It wouldn't arrive in time if I shipped it to my house, but I had it sent to the hotel and it was there when I checked in!  You can order almost anything from amazon, often at comparable prices to stores.   - bluefairy  643.2 #244 9:27PM

Thank you very much, I don't know what I would do without my coffee and no offense to Disneyland but the coffee is kinda bad lol - FantasmicallyFantasticDisneyFans  18.6 #6391 4:13PM
If it helps, I've found Starbucks VIA to be an adequate substitute on the go. Actually, I also use them to make the perfect Frappachino from home. - MrsMears  214.6 #1647 4:25PM
