Just read that ticket prices went up. Does anybody have any idea when this takes place?

I'll comment now before the big fiasco starts. 1) Since I started working for the Resort 4 years ago, we've opened up a brand new Disney California Adventure along with a lot of new attractions in Disneyland also. Secondly, since I started, the Resort has expanded its cast from 20,000 to almost 27,000, providing more jobs for what is already the largest employer in Orange County. With these two changes, it costs money to run and maintain a place like Disneyland, that runs on a 24 hour clock that never closes. Also with the 60th anniversary around the corner, there's going to be plenty of exciting things happening that having an AP will be worth it. If you look at the average Annual Passholder, the discounts and savings one already receives already covers in the increase plus more. And that doesn't include the special events and perks too. Yes, it is expensive, but in the long run, the price is well worth it to enjoy the Disney magic for a whole year.  - BaseballMickey_CM  6648.4 #11 2:45PM
Well said! Considering concerts tickets are easily $100 and a season ticket to Mammoth is $999 Disneyland is a bargain! - ShariRenee  5292.1 #15 2:51PM
Sure, OK ,I think it's about numbers and control, no matter what the resort does people  still go, the decisions  to suspend past levels and or parking add on, keeping in mind that for the first time the resort had to close more days during Xmas time for capacity.part of this push more premium  levels to be sold. However I understand  it is hard as everyone  has a different situation in life and income and going to Disney is a privilege  and not a right and I am nothing more than a paying  guest and Disney is to make money that is there some ideas and changes I don't still all work or smart but again I'm glad that you love your employer  and that they do make Magic everyday and even if sometimes things do happens like any other place of business it is what it is. If you feel this is too negative or don't like my responded I will gladly  remove it .  - pikarich  3460.0 #32 3:13PM

I thought the price hikes usually happen in June. Are they doing it early because of the 60th birthday? - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  644.4 #267 6:05PM
Thank you for the heads up!  My pass expires 3/5.  I just renewed and got a discount to boot.  Saved big. Thanks! - ElsaSnowflake  166.3 #2360 5:54PM
Glad this worked out for you!☝️ - RadiatorSprings4Ever  984.9 #165 6:05PM
First and foremost- huge Disney fan and an avowed capitalist. I'm all about business and profit. However, lets not fool ourselves by saying these price increases are for more personnel, new or refurbished attractions or park improvements. They simply are not. 1st qtr FY 2015 showed a 9% increase in profit over 4th qtr FY 2014 for a total profit after operating costs of 3.9 BILLION dollars for Disney Parks and resorts. Not entertainment, movies or merchandising-just the parks. (All of them) The wife and I bought our first passes in 2010 for 399.00 each for premiums with parking. In 5 years that has doubled. Is it still worth it? My personal decision is yes, but it might drive others away. The parks don't seem to be hurting because of it. - Firelt  228.6 #1530 2:21PM

Sitting at home stalking the wait times and thinking that they are crazy long......BUT part of me wishes I was there lol

Same here, lol.  But, I have to say I'm pretty happy at home with my dog and Netflix and reading Gone with the Wind.  Either way, it's a pretty good life 😊 - Spoonful_O_Sugar  569.4 #318 6:27PM

I love the book and the movie! Have you read the sequel? It may be called Scarlett.  - minniemonika  130.5 #0 1:21PM
I have read Scarlett, and I enjoy it.  It's a very different storyline, and a different author, but still an interesting book.  minniemonika - Spoonful_O_Sugar  569.4 #318 4:06PM
Did you ever read the sequel they released called Scarlett?  It is pretty good and so was the mini movie. But some people just hated they had someone else  write a sequel! - secretagentangel  1345.5 #107 2:30PM

The cursor doesn't give me a signal to be able to click on "Mousewait Disneyland"  It will let me click on "Magic Feed" above that. But it doesn't go to any wait time. I use to have red box-tabs that let me click on them to get to the wait times but now their gone.  Any other hints?  I want to brush up on my skills of finding wait times before our nex trip. - Ready4Disney  3.0 #42965 1:18PM
Are you looking for wait times on a computer instead of the app? - missmimi90  1668.4 #84 1:21PM
I was trying on the house computer and a tablet using the internet.  Nothing...  Your help missmimi90 made me realize I needed to use the app on my tablet.  When I tried the APP on the tablet... there are the wait times tabs.  Now I'm wondering if I can actually check wait times on the house computer or if I have to use the app on the tablet all the time. - Ready4Disney  3.0 #42965 1:28PM
It's only available on the app, not on the website. - IDVandalSkipperCM  2279.7 #53 1:29PM
I believe it's only in the app where you can access wait times because wait times would be pointless to use while sitting at your home computer.  - missmimi90  1668.4 #84 1:31PM

I am sooooo excited to have booked our Disneyworld trip for April of next year!!!!!! I'm used to my "home" of Disneyland and how cozy it is. If you have been recently (it's been years for us) any suggestions are welcome :)

We are going in March and I haven't been since I was about 16 (which was a very long time ago). It's like trying to navigate a whole new world. I know my first day to make dining reservations is in September so I bet yours is this month.  That's the only tip I have, as I am still trying to figure everything out. - Thumper13  430.6 #449 7:56AM
I thought it was 180 days for dining reservations? I'll have to check. Thanks - fab5  41.8 #4725 12:01PM
Oh awesome!  I have never been, so I don't have any tips, but I wanted you to know that there's a WDW Mousewait Lounge, and they are very friendly--I'm sure if you post this over there, as well, they will have some great tips, too!   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  569.4 #318 8:17AM
They already have :) I saw the post on the WDW side too :) - brodysmommy  393.0 #515 8:23AM
^^this!!  I asked then lots of questions and they were always so helpful!!  There's also a few on this side who I consider to be WDW experts so I'd ask here too.  πŸ˜Š - MinnieMousewife  807.4 #199 8:25AM

Quick question for all of the experts: I always see the lobster nachos posted here (look so yummy). My mission on the last trip was to get some, but when I found The was a bar! With three kids, I didn't want to go in :( is there anyway to place an order to go? I REALLY want to try some on my next trip.

You can sit at a table with your kiddos. People do it all the time . They would never seat you at the actual bar counter with children in your group. :) - eviljules  1029.6 #154 5:22AM

I haven't been to DL since the enforcement of FP tickets. Has it really streamlined the attraction wait times? (Yes, I was guilty of being a FP hoarder) trying to strategize my next visit

Fastpass times are indeed being enforced now :-) - uscdisneyteacher  7223.7 #8 8:59PM
I don't think it has changed much. They do check the hours. But we were there last Sat and the line for Splash mountain was 110 mins with NO FP, but it was probably 35 mins WITH the FP. Line was all the way out the barn entrance for FP. We gave up. They say it has helped on RSR since everyone was lining up in the FP near closing. I haven't seen much change on any of the lines though. - DLKenCA  1940.9 #71 10:17PM

Looking for tradition ideas. During every trip (2-3 times a year) the one souvenir each family member gets is a trading pin that represents the trip for them. Can anyone else share what traditions they have? Trying to start some new ones....
