Exciting!  - kyoto_sparkle  150.2 #2333 11:25AM
Got any princess rear-view HM pins in there? - Dinnylann  228.2 #1297 11:27AM
Whoops, I forgot a word - rear-view "mirror" HM pins... - Dinnylann  228.2 #1297 11:30AM
Those look like good ones. Which seller did you order from? - MXPrincess399  483.1 #251 11:32AM
@ dinnylann, nope sorry - cnswaldow  142.1 #2457 11:37AM
Are these from eBay? If so, can you provide the seller's name if you were happy with your experience? I know this isn't the case with all sellers on eBay, but I recently bought a 200 pin lot and every single pin was a fake. :/ - Disney143  255.4 #975 11:37AM
I like the snowman one! So cute! - PrincessCarmen  2580.9 #23 11:39AM
Disney143 check out this site for good/bad eBay sellers http://tinyurl.com/37mr84a - ManBearPig  417.0 #317 11:43AM
These all have Disney stamp on the back the seller is gomf03, it was $11.00 for 20 pins plus 6.85 shipping, he sent it out Saturday and I got them today - cnswaldow  142.1 #2457 11:44AM
Usually lots that big are often scrappers. Try buying smallers lots, might get better pins that way. No a sure thing though. Fake pins are everywhere! You never know what your gonna get on ebay - ManBearPig  417.0 #317 11:46AM
Wow cool!!! And ManBearPig thanks for the link - NightmareKaren  284.3 #724 11:46AM
@Disney143, what do you mean every pin was fake? I have framed pins from Disney that are magnetic and i know they are not fakes. I have noticed the pin lots are very thin. they are real pins but they are the rejects that were not to be sold. Someone bought them and tried to buff out the defects. that makes them thin.. - GoofyJoe  1868.3 #41 11:48AM
Where did you find the Mickey Monkey? I must get that for my boyfriend!! - kimmie-d  23.4 #4881 11:54AM
Came with the lot I got - cnswaldow  142.1 #2457 11:55AM
Thanks @ManBearPig for the link and the advice. I know eBay is a gamble, but I'll give your advice a try and go for smaller lots next time. - Disney143  255.4 #975 11:56AM
The buyer I got these from wasn't on the list either way - cnswaldow  142.1 #2457 11:58AM
@Disney143, please share how they were fakes and how you learned they were fakes. - GoofyJoe  1868.3 #41 12:05PM
Isn't it hard when you get a lot to trade and you end up liking most of them and then have like 5 to trade?! Lol that's my life. - Fauna  34.4 #4272 12:08PM
@goofyjoe did u see the pic I posted for u, I'll bump it again - cnswaldow  142.1 #2457 12:10PM
If you suspect it's a fake or scrapper check out the site pinpics.com. Search for your pin and it'll tell you if you might have a scrapper. They'll tell you what to look for. - ManBearPig  417.0 #317 12:11PM
- GoofyJoe  1868.3 #41 12:13PM
I had one that was so thin i bent it without any effort. I had just traded with a CM... They are out there... - GoofyJoe  1868.3 #41 12:14PM
Hi @GoofyJoe. I wasn't referring to the magnet test, as I know this isn't a reliable method for detecting scrappers. In my case it was pretty evident that the pins weren't legit. The lot contained duplicates and in some cases triplicates of pins that were labeled LE 1 of 1000. Also, some of the pins contained the incorrect colors or were simply missing lettering that the pin was supposed to contain. All pins lacked any finish and most had rough edges. I did all rearch on pinpics.com. Finally, I was recently informed by eBay that they were aware of the issues with this seller and that they were pursuing disciplinary action. Buyer beware, I guess. - Disney143  255.4 #975 12:19PM
You still can probably trade with CMs. I'm sure they don't care/don't know. Their lanyards are probably filled with scrappers. - ManBearPig  417.0 #317 12:23PM
That is bad... You did the research and learned a lot... still compain to ebay and maybe you can get refund. i sure hope you gave bad feedback... I did get duped once too so i know how it feels.. - GoofyJoe  1868.3 #41 12:23PM
Well went through and kept a couple and put the rest on a different lanyard for trading - cnswaldow  142.1 #2457 12:31PM
Yes you can sill trade them with CMs. Once I had a weird Peter Pan pin with red eyes, which I showed to the CM, and he still traded it. The CM took it but just put it in his pocket to trash I guess. - Fauna  34.4 #4272 12:31PM
I like the Snowman one! @GJ- there are counterfeits and there are scrappers. Both of them I just consider non-legit pins. Like MBP said, there are some ways to check for the non-legit ones. They are usually thinner, not as shiny, might have wrong colors, might have dips in the paint, might have a border around the mickey head waffle stamp on the back, might have rough or not shiny edges, things like that. The magnet test can also help a bit, but like you said some legit pins do stick to the magnet. We have a Star Wars pin we bought at Store Command that sticks. However, through my own experience of literally hundreds of pins we have come across since July, in most cases if a pin sticks to the magnet, it's not legit. It usually has some other telltale sign to it. Generally speaking, if you are paying less than $1.50-$2 per pin, they are probably not legit. - TickledTink  352.8 #419 12:39PM
PS- I have pretty strong feelings about this... CM lanyards are not trash cans. Many pin traders are still oblivious to the fact that there are non-legit pins. Some out there don't really care, but I for one don't want to trade a legit pin I paid more $$ for for a 50 cent scrapper. Let's try to keep these bad pins out of the circulation! - TickledTink  352.8 #419 12:41PM
I just did the magnet test with the pins I bought at DL and the ones from eBay and neither of them stuck, I have no idea if they are real or not, look ok to me - cnswaldow  142.1 #2457 12:50PM
My boys and I trade for the fun of it. I really don't care if they are legit, or fakes. If I buy them at full price, then its a really nice one and my boys know they are not allowed to trade those. But I buy big lots of Ebay all the time and those are my traders. I like to collect ones that are special to me and am not planning on selling them any time soon, so I don't care if its a fake or real. Its the same for my boys. We are doing it for the fun of it. So Sorry TickledTink, but bring on the fakes and any other... I will be putting them on CM lanyards if they have something that I like. - OutNumberedMom  776.2 #128 12:56PM
Yeah I dont trade the pins I buy at DL, I buy ones that mean something to be or are special, the ones I bought from eBay were for trading - cnswaldow  142.1 #2457 1:44PM
