Good morning! This day in Disney history, Nov 5th, 1937. Disney's Silly Symphony cartoon "The Old Mill" directed by Wilfred Jackson & Graham Heid is released. This is the 1st film to use the multiplane camera, a device invented by Ub Iwerks &the Disney staff. The special camera gives depth to animation by using layers of backgrounds painted on glass. (This short & the camera will both win Oscars.) to watch: http://is.gd/xiOSZU as always, thanks for reading! :)
ohhh, thank you for this History! It seems that Walt Disney makes the Silly Symphony cartoons as an experimental media for his Innoventions. Multi-plane camera was used to his first feature-length animation, Snow White. - otilegna

This is amazing. It has all the characteristics of Disney animated features, of which most of the classics used the multiplane camera. Incidentally, one of the three surviving multiplane cameras owned by Disney is at the animation studio in Burbank (MrsStrawberryGuy or E818 may already be aware since they work there). Thank you again SMK! You are awesome! - MyPark
