Good morning! This day in Disney history, Sep 19th, 1966. Disneyland's Monsanto Hall of Chemistry is removed to make way for the new Adventure Through Inner Space attraction. The Monsanto Hall of Chemistry was on the right side as you entered Tomorrowland. No ticket was needed for this attraction. It was said to show you the "romance of chemistry". A full page in an advertising supplement in the Los Angeles Times, July 15, 1955, described it this way: "The hall of Chemistry shows us how chemically-made products benefit your life, how they can make a new & startling world tomorrow. Your food, clothing, housing, health, & transportation all depend on chemistry." Do you remember this attraction? Sounds like one big advertisement. Very interesting how the park was very sponsorship heavy in the early years. - Sarafina

Indeed! Early tomorrowland was mostly corporate exhibits. Because of time and money restrictions Walt was forced to accept several corporate county-fair-type exhibits to populate the buildings. They didn't do too much to promote the future IMO. - Duchess_SMK 3243.6 #11 10:27AM
@stawberryguy, did you happen to read the last paragraph on the yesterland website? Made me crack up! - Duchess_SMK 3243.6 #11 11:08AM
It was before my time, but I do have fond memories of Adventure Through Inner Space. Love the mid century architecture. From a time when the future looked like the set from Mad Men. - ScooterMike

OMGoodness me too! I love so much from that era! I especially love the sleek lines of the furniture and clothing from back then! 😍 - Duchess_SMK 3243.6 #11 10:40AM
Romance of chemistry, huh? Hmmm. Thankfully, I do NOT remember that attraction. I do remember its replacement though. Loved the Adventures Through Innerspace! Shrinking, shrinking, until you are smaller than an atom! Cool stuff! - meridafan

Lol, to learn how to make cole did sound pretty interesting. BUT I think DL did a much better job with adventures thru inner space. :) Seems a lot of people miss that attraction! - Duchess_SMK 3243.6 #11 11:32AM

I too loved Inner Space. I'm sorry my kids won't be able to experience it but then again I get many eye rolls about things momma thinks are cool and they think are less than cool 😌 - TikiBird

I am a Chemist but I much prefer Adventure Thru Inner Space. One of my favorite rides my first time in DL in 1968. I watch it on Utube once in awhile to remember. Ha! - NBCnotBrerFOX
