Good morning! This day in Disney history, Sep 7th, 1997. Disneyland's CIRCLE-VISION, which offered daily showings of America the Beautiful, the last film Walt Disney worked on, closes in Tomorrowland. Take a tour around America by watching the eleven movie screens that form a circle above your head. The screens are perfectly synchronized to show the 16mm films, surrounding you w/a 360-degree view. This building is used for Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters today. Do you remember this attraction? I totally remember this attraction, it was my Dad's favorite as he loved to drive and travel by car. He would have loved Carsland. Every trip to DL included this and Great Moments with Mr.Lincoln. Yes the screens were used for Rocket Rods. You actually walked through the old queue of Circlvision which displayed many of the old vehicles of closed attractions like the People Mover, Skyway, Rockets and Autopia Cars. I think they were trying to hide how long the lines really were from the outside, cause it really chris crossed inside the old attraction. It was sponsored by Bell telephones and I always remember going in the large phone booths and making phone calls to someone on the speaker phones, we thought it was so cool. - splashphotoCM

Yeah, I was going to mention the trip on the fire engine. I always loved that. Also, the booths you could sit in to make a group phone call to family or whoever, it didn't matter,it was just such a cool thing because you were doing it from Disneyland! - CVDisneyland 256.9 #934 9:51AM

Another memory! My parents loved this and we would go on every visit. I liked the entrance area where the state flags flew. Their would be a CM there, asking trivia questions about the states and where people came from. The interaction was great. We would always go the phones after and call my Nana...thinking back now, it makes me giggle that we thought the 'concall' was so futuristic! - Gia

There were glass booths as you exited the theatre with seats. They had a pay phone but no actual hand piece to hold. You spoke and the mics in the room picked up your voice, and the person you were speaking with had their voice on a loudspeaker so everyone could hear. - Gia 782.1 #119 3:14AM

I remember going in there as a kid with my family. My father loved it since he worked in the film industry. As the years past, it got a bit dated and less people came to see it. Sure wish I could see it one more time. - ScooterMike

I loved America the Beautiful!! But at least now we get Soarin' Over California. So that is a nice substitute. But the Circlevision was very cool!! - meridafan

I for sure remember this attraction. My dad loved it and my mom could not even go in there. She get really bad motion sickness and that attraction made her really sick. But there isn't much at Disneyland that doesn't make her sick. But I really liked it!! - 2mousears
