#Carthay Circle Restaurant review: Last night we celebrated our anniversary by having dinner at Carthay. I had been calling all week to get a dinner reservation, but it was booked. We decided to see if we could just try and get a walk-in reservation. We got there at 7 and they told us that from 8-9:15, they only take walk-in reservations. They said that you have a really good chance of getting a table if you're there at 8!! (This is a very good tip to know!!) We were able to get a spot, but had to wait until about 8:45 to be seated. We sat in the Lounge while we waited and just relaxed and enjoyed the surroundings. We were then seated in the Hollywood room. We of course ordered the House Biscuits right way due to the rave reviews and they are absolutely amazing!! They are stuffed with melted white cheddar, jalapeño and bacon!! I'm not a huge jalapeño fan, but they were not spicy at all. There is an apricot honey butter to go with them and it's amazing as well!! I got the Wildberry Lemonade and it was pretty good!! For our entrees, I got the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp and Joe got the Udon Noodle Bowl. I am a huge shrimp fan and I don't think I've ever had shrimp this delicious!! You get 6 pretty big prawns and they are so meaty and cooked to perfection! You can't go wrong with bacon added to it! The bacon is nice and crisp and adds an extra burst of flavor! The shrimp sits in a creamy roasted corn and zucchini base. It was delicious!! I was very surprised that Joe ordered the Udon Noodles because he is not a huge seafood fan. The noodles are in a red thai curry broth, accompanied with shrimp, muscles, shiitake mushrooms, bok choy, daikon, mint, cashews and fresh coriander. Joe enjoyed it but he wasn't a fan of the muscles because they were pretty chewy! He let me have a bite and I thought it was really flavorful and not too spicy!! We hadn't had a meal that delicious in a long time!! I was expecting that we would probably end up spending close to $100, but we only ended up spending $62!!! We don't drink, so that helps with the price!! The CMs there were all so pleasant and gave us some history of the various rooms and pictures in the restaurant. We finished our meal just in time to walk out to the patio and watch the fireworks. It's a very cool perspective from watching up there! I love that they have the firework music playing while we watched it!! It was neat to watch everyone below and see the Red Trolley going by quite frequently. We had a great night and we are still talking about how amazing the food was. If you haven't eaten there yet, you need too soon!! You won't be disappointed!!!
