Question Time: So last night, as we drove home from the symphony I was checking out new radio stations on the xm radio. I came across a broadway station. On it was playing Mary Poppins the Musical. The song that was on was Feed the Bird. In that moment I felt like I stepped through a time machine and it hit me how important Mary Poppins was to me in my life growing up. Last night I had a mini flash back to my childhood at my grandmothers house, It was my fav movie to watch with her (other than Pocahonta) she would watch it with me and sing along with me. Last night as I sat there and listened, I started to cry. That song brought me back to a very happy time, a memory I wish i could live again. I sang along.... and you know what, even thought there were tears.... they were happy tears. I remembered a moment with my grandma and that made me so happy. SOooOOoo QUestion time: What Disney song brings you back to a very special moment, and why:)

That was sweet cass! The bare (or bear?) necessities always takes me back to when I woul play the Disney CDs and cassettes and make up dances to them in my room and then perform them for my family:) - ladylikesdisney  945.0 #197 10:49AM

I remember watching Sleeping Beauty when I was teeny tiny. Sitting on the carpet in front of the TV when I was about 3. I wished the three good fairies would invite me to visit them in their cottage. My parents adopted my brother when I was 3 and I remember them putting him in his little baby seat next to me while I watched it so we could "bond". So every time I hear the "Hail to the king, hail to the queen, hail to the princess Aurora!" part in the beginning, I picture myself on the floor with my baby brother, looking up at the TV together. - LaneSparrow316  847.0 #218 10:59AM

OMG! I did a dance to this when I was growing up! I will have to find a pic and show you the costume it was my favorite costume of all times:)! - BooEve123  800.9 #232 11:04AM
This tugs on my heart strings too--it doesn't evoke a specific memory for me: just an overall feeling of happiness and innocence because I used to watch it daily and I loved Helen Reddy. I actually just recorded Pete's Dragon and I'm really excited to sit and watch it--I haven't seen it since I was a little girl! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  613.1 #331 11:28AM

I forgot to answer. Disney songs in general remind me of my family and my childhood. Movie nights and all the old Disney cartoons my grandpa would record for us. - CherryTreeLane  460.4 #472 1:33PM
Song of the South, every body has a laughing place... Takes me back to gradeschool, we watched song of the south then the following week the entire 6th grade class went on a field trip to DL.. It was one of the best times i can remember as a kid. - Goofdog  170.4 #2404 12:03PM
Such a beautiful memory. I can relate. Baby Mine gets me every time. I sang that song to my first born. She's now 23. We had a moment in time that we were not speaking. Last year we reconnected. For my birthday I wanted to be with all my kids, so we went to Disneyland. I had the most amazing time. At the end of the evening, we were sitting across from Small World and watching the fireworks. All I could think of was how perfect my day was. I had no idea they played that song during the show. As soon as I heard it, I started to cry. My first born looked at me and smiled. She knew exactly why I was crying. My other two children kept asking me what was wrong, I couldn't even speak. I have always teared up when hearing this song. It's one of the most beautiful memories I have. Β  - PrincessLani  111.3 #3409 12:09PM

Baby Mine is special to me, too. On our trip to Disneyland last week, the song played during fireworks. My 4 year old son came over to me and said "Mommy, it's our song." He then started to sing to me and crawled into my lap. - duckymomo  45.3 #4975 12:25PM
That's sweet Cass! Mine isn't a Disney song but they started playing it in Carsland. Mine is King of the Road. My daddy used to sit on my bed and play his guitar and sing it to me. The first time I heard it I was standing in the middle of the street waiting to see all the neon light up. I started crying. Vinyl walked up to meet me and he was crying too! It was the perfect place and time because he loved Route 66! - SueBayou  2019.0 #78 12:24PM

Awww, this is so sweet Boo :) I actually don't have any Disney songs that bring me back to a specific memory (oops). But my mom and I share this fondness for listening to a particular set of favorite songs over and over 100 times until we get bored with them and move on. Due to that, different songs remind me of different time periods. I have a set of songs that remind me of going back and forth to baseball practice when I was younger... another set from my first mother/daughter trip to Monterey... several from our trips to and from LA/Disneyland... it's fun to have them play now and remember all the fun times I had growing up :) - KylaShea  632.7 #319 12:27PM
When i was younger i loved little mermaid and beauty and the beast. I had to sing part of your world at my recital. Beauty and the beast my dad took me to the musical. Loved it. Brings back hapoy memories of my dad and i. When i was daddy's little girl. Not very close anymore, and makes me happy remembering how we used to be. - Splashmountgirl  337.1 #717 12:34PM
Maybe try giving him a ring a ding:) http://bit.ly/hUTSa - BooEve123  800.9 #232 12:38PM
"A Whole New World" has a special place in my heart. One day I was hanging out with my cousin in my aunts room. She had a balcony and we were there staring out in the sky listening to Disney music. When this song came on I was thinking, "where could my Prince be?" Twenty years later I was dancing to my Prince with this song on my wedding day. - adventurerEnDisneylandia {AED}  1143.5 #155 12:37PM

Are you pregnant? J/k. I can't remember watching any Disney movies when I was young. I remember going to Beauty and the Beast with my sisters and dad and my dad sobbing at the end, lol. He is a very emotional man! But I think I get the sound o the opening of cars always makes me smile and think of my boy. He watched that movie all the time and when it started with the race at the beginning he would get so excited. I would just live to listen to him. - emnldsmom  369.8 #619 12:45PM
http://bit.ly/MrGp1G I wish i was preggers ;) - BooEve123  800.9 #232 12:48PM
Aww, I am sure it will happen when you are ready! It is the best feeling and the Most tired i have ever been, lol And As soon as he heard that his eyes perked up, lol. He is 4 now and is very into Star Wars but goes back to cars often! Now if I could get my 9 year old to wear princess dressed to the park again, lol. - emnldsmom  369.8 #619 12:54PM
Circle of Life. The Lion King was the first movie my son fell in love with, he was about 18 mos. We watched it daily, many times more than once. It is still special to us. - Minnique  631.0 #321 1:08PM
"Feed the Birds" is mine!  When TheLionGeek was in 3rd grade, she was cast as the "Bird Woman" in the school play.  They told her in her audition, she sang like a little bird.  She stole the show and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.  The next two nights the show was a sell out, as everyone was telling people to come see her sing.  I can't hear this song without it bringing back happy memories of how beautiful her voice was.  Any time I hear this, I burst into tears.  She still sings it and I cry every time.  She has used this as her audition song for other plays, and each time has brought her luck.  It also has a fond place in my heart, as it was Walt's favorite song.  When I was about 3, I would sit in my little rocking chair and sing this.  Kind of ironic that this song would come full circle in our family.  - snowwannab  751.3 #253 1:14PM
What a sweet story! My mom said I always brought her to tears whenever I performed...and I have done the same watching my daughter. There's no love as pure as a mothers love for her child! - Gia  802.0 #231 1:23PM
That is so true! I am in the process of looking for the Cal Heights directory and I bet your picture or Grandfather's is in there? Will let you know when i find it. I loved your Gramma memory, my Great Aunt did the same thing for me, happy memories. - snowwannab  751.3 #253 1:28PM
Disney movies always remind me of my Gramma! She would take me to all the Disney movies as they came out from the time I was 4 to about 13. When I got home, I would re-tell the story by acting it out for my parents. Wonderful memories. - Gia  802.0 #231 1:21PM
could i ❀❀❀you any more than i already do? - misschurro  6361.2 #17 1:24PM
I don't know! Could you? Would you?!😘 - Gia  802.0 #231 1:28PM
That Is So sweet!! I love stories like this! I don't have a song that brings up those memories. Well at least not that I can think of off the top of my head. But I can remember watching dumbo with my great grandmother. She had a ton of Disney movies but we always watched dumbo together. I would play with the blocks she had and she would sit in her chair and was always working on something (either her crossword puzzle or a blanket). Everytime I watch dumbo I always think of my great grandmother. - Flyingtoneverland  188.1 #2148 1:24PM
I remember being a kid and listening to the Jungle Book soundtrack on a 45 record... "Trust in me" by Kaa, and "I wanna be like you" by King Louie were So catchy, but the military sounding song by the elephants was my favorite as a kid. I remember marching to it and thinking I was looking cool for doing so. - BambooMike  133.8 #2982 1:35PM
