You know what I miss?? Actually hand writing letters to people and mailing them out. I've been trading vinyls for the last couple weeks with MWers via the mail, and I'm not going to lie.... getting packages in the mail is SO fun! Did you guys ever have a penpal when you were younger???
I used to love having pen pals.. I wish I still had them. I LOVE writing letters to people. - Gummy

I met my Best Friend from Australia as a penpal. We were both part of a Hanson fan club (I know....) when we were around 10 years old. Her name was on a list of international pen pals that were part of a mailing list. I mailed her once... she wrote back! When you're 10 years old and get a letter from Australia.. its the coolest thing ever. - michelledork

Her and I wrote back in forth in a journal and mailed it to each other for years! And then... when the internet started booming, we would email each other. We lost contact for about 2 years and then found each other on myspace when we were 17. After that we continued to skype and email. When I was 22, I booked a flight to Australia and flew out to meet her. We both have the same birthday... so I went for our 23rd. 13 years of friendship without ever meeting her in person..... I went and stayed with her and her bf for a month! It was incredible. She and I were like twins! Now two years later, she's coming here in June and I'm super excited. - michelledork

When I was in 6th grade, we did this thing where we got to pick a country and all of our assignments that school year were centered around that country. I picked Poland since I am Polish and we ended up doing pen pals so I was getting mail from Poland! It was so cool! I haven't had a pen pal in years. Someone made a post about setting up pen pals for MWers kids [which my seven year old is interested in.] and I think someone needs to set that up for us grown up MWers! - Gummy

I missed that feeling to. Until I joined postcrossing. You send postcards to random people around the world and then random people send you postcards back. It's really fun! - JediTrance

@dizkid, that sounds so fun! When I was younger, my sister & I had best friends (they're sisters) that moved to WA, so we kept in touch through letters & cards until myspace & fb came along. I should write them a good old fashioned letter out of the blue... - SassySally

Postcrossing.com. You sign up and can request addresses. You send out postcards to those people (you can read up on what kind they like) and then your name is given out so someone else sends one to you. - bluefairy
