So the wife and I went to California Disney and were disapointed. Lemme say I just can't wait for cars land to open.
why were you disappointed?? - MsNick

Did you see World of Color? Should be a lot better when Cars Land opens - BaseballMickey_CM

really? My favorite rides are at California! I love the vibe over there as well. - Miss.B
6.3 #8775 11:05AM
There's sooo much to do there...WOC, TSMM, Bug's Life, The Cove (my personal favorite LOL) TOT. and the list goes on! - MsNick
55.9 #3640 11:08AM
I really love California Adventure! It is a different experience than DL but I believe it enhances the DL park.
- Dumbomom
308.3 #570 11:15AM
I honestly can't just go to Disneyland anymore. I have to do both. They are one in my mind haha - Miss.B
6.3 #8775 11:17AM
I love DCA too! Sometimes DL is overcrowded, and it's so nice to jump over. When I'm by myself, I like to walk kinda fast sometimes. That's easier to fo at DCA. I love all the greenery around Grizzly. I hope they never change that area. - Tom
3872.9 #7 11:18AM
Our first time to DCA was this last December. After hearing such negative criticism for years, my wife and I loved it!! - Chadco
299.0 #615 11:29AM
I love DCA but I was there the other day with my one and a half year old and realized there's not much there for little ones, there's bugs land and monsters Inc but that's about it - RickeyCalifornia
157.0 #2191 11:30AM
Ya Rickey you are right my kids are bigger now and so we enjoy DCA alot more now that everyone is tall enough to ride everything. But when Carsland and LM open there will be a lot more for the little ones to do! - Mrsblue
692.4 #145 11:36AM
I love DCA! Why were you disappointed? - Spoonful_O_Sugar
436.2 #285 11:41AM
I've got to agree. We always.spend part of our time in dca but mostly for soarin. My daughter had surgery on her neck as a toddler so can't do any kind of roller coaster type rides w too much jerky motion. Also, I've lived by the old pacific ocean park, worked as a white.water.guide, lots of time in monterey and other parts of the state so dca feels like a copy of all the ' real' things. We do like monsters, inc and.are looking forward to cars and lm - Jllybean
10.2 #6693 12:09PM
Carsland is going to make California Adventure overcrowded like the other park. I love it the way it is. - mstiauna27
89.3 #3152 12:17PM
My boyfriend and I were having this conversation a few days ago. We don't get why DCA gets so much i guess "hate" is the word. There is so much to do and its still as much fun as Disney and incorporates that fun Disney feeling in a fresh way. - bren12
37.7 #4073 12:18PM
I love DCA way better than the original park, I like how it gears to an older crowd too. Plus they sell liquor in this park. - mstiauna27
89.3 #3152 12:24PM
I agree with Bren too, when we go to the parks we find that we spend more time at DCA than we do DL - Duffysgirl
169.6 #2012 12:27PM
It's geared to a younger crowd actually..as in people in their 20s.. They sell alcohol, more "thrill" rides, and attraction based on popular films/themes. DCA has great attractions, but it's failed miserably as a park. - goinghometime
24.3 #4712 12:48PM
Us too Duffysgirl, once we cross over to DCA we usually don't go back to DL unless we want to see fireworks or parades. We do Disney in the AM and DCA in the PM. - DizGeek
453.3 #270 12:59PM
I don't like electronica hate walking with my kids by all the people drinking the smell is overbearing . Hate that part went in a Friday night with my 8 ,5,and 1 year old was very shock to what was going on . So now we stay away at night . Good thing you can go through bugs land to tower if terror . To bad fit monster Inc though . They have a club infront of them every weekend.
Plus all the kiddie rides except fir 2 make me really sick I dont know why but my 8 yr old likes it - sylviamta
16.1 #5507 1:07PM
I love both parks so much but man bugsland is awesome we spent an hour over there this past weekend and we did all the rides lil.tea was able to (can't do tuck and roll yet) and just walked around looking at all the scerney it's amazing. - Smart.tea
205.4 #1549 1:19PM
I can't say I hate California Adventure, I really like the park, but Disneyland is Disneyland. I always go.there first lol - eldamien
14.1 #5810 1:20PM
@JillyBeans... Isn't DCA supposed to be a "copy" of the real thing in the first place?? They're trying to replicate California in one place. I think they've done a decent job... I mean, they don't have the stentch of northern california down, but.... that's not very magical - michelledork
658.3 #159 1:24PM
California Adventure is disappointing to our family as well. We spend way more time at Dland. Hopefully the billion dollar upgrades will help that park out. - TFDland
9.1 #7083 1:27PM
I love every aspect of DCA, yes its not Disneyland, but there are still fun things to do! Once all the new attractions are done, it will be better! - babebahn
197.0 #1669 1:33PM
Guys, I think many are missing the whole point of what CA Adventure actually represents...Disney's take on their version of our beloved golden state. Ever really walk around and enjoy how the park is set up? I see representations of the different cities we live in throughout the park. And adding that extra Disney touch to the attractions like Toy Story Mania and Monsters Inc. Are like icing to the cake. Yes, it's a bit different than Disneyland, yet it's by no means less magical than the other park. I myself just love and appreciate DCA very much, especially working there. - Mulannn
108.8 #2922 1:40PM
You said it perfectly Mulannn! I absolutely adore california adventure! - Miss.B
6.3 #8775 1:46PM
Disappointed? What?!? Huh!?! You gotta be kidding. It's the original. - Tammilani
44.6 #3864 1:48PM
@michelledork, yes we realize.it's a copy. That's why we don't spend as much time there - we can have the real thing and this time it doesn't feel as magical as dl feels; it seems like it was.designed for people who are visiting (especially from asia) & don't have time to see the rest of the state. - Jllybean
10.2 #6693 1:54PM
I don't think it's fair to compare any park to DL....because Disneyland will win 100% of the time.... - AuzRoxUrSox
901.8 #98 1:57PM
You can't compare two parks that offer two completely different types of atmospheres. No matter how many times I go to Disneyland it ALWAYS feels different than DCA. The vibe is different... It's a lot more "grown up" than Disneyland is. I don't think they created DCA with the idea that it would become another "Disneyland" so to compare the two just doesn't really work. I say this a lot on here... Sometimes those of us who go to the parks often forget what its like to have gone "for the first time"...... for the people who never have been or hardly get to go.. DCA is probably amazing. But for a majority of us on here who are AP or go frequently, it's not as exciting or impressive as we expect bc we can't help but look across the way at Disneyland and have those memories/feelings to compare. - michelledork
658.3 #159 2:03PM
Can you really imagine Walt announcing this, "I'm proud to announce the newest addition to the Disneyland Resort........Disney California Adventure.....A theme park based on California." I don't hear it either. The thing is, there is no creativity/originality when it comes to DCA. Grizzly, Soarin, Screamin' are great attractions. But then you have ToT (Florida) in Hollywood Studios (Florida), and 80% of the attractions based on Pixar films. Then you have the other half of the park looking like a carnival. Did you know that Muholland Madness is an off the shelf ride? Disney BOUGHT the 50 year old sucker and redid the paint job. And a Ferris wheel? Walt never wanted a ferris wheel. - goinghometime
24.3 #4712 2:05PM
When the theme park was announced, no one thought it'd be a good idea especially with it was being head by Eiser and Pressler. We were supposed to get WESTCOT. On opening day, it was completely empty. Now, Disney is spending billions of dollars to fix the mess they started. - goinghometime
24.3 #4712 2:07PM
I enjoy hanging around DCA. I just wish Disney made better decisions. But when you think about it, it isn't really a great park. - goinghometime
24.3 #4712 2:09PM
I don't understand why you would say the park was designed for people from Asia. I also don't get why people get all upset over electronica. There is plenty of room to walk around to go to monsters Inc. They do a great job of keeping a walkway clear. Plus is served all day long so you can't be upset with just one spot without being upset with every location that sells it. I understand that if you're going to pay for a park it would be Disneyland but I like DCA for the fact that it's chill and there tends to be less idiotic tourists. But if you don't like it, don't go. Simple solution really. Just mean more space for me :-) - KissDclown
1088.1 #77 2:12PM
We love DCA. Maybe the construction goin on right now is a turn off but it offers an escape from the DL crowds and a completely different atmosphere. There are so many great attractions and bugs land is awesome for my little ones. And I enjoy being able to have an adult beverage if I want one. - CravingDisney
150.1 #2294 2:24PM
Hurrah for the rebuttals from Dork, Auz & KissDClownBalls!! - Shangz

Nice profile name :) sorry your experience was less than what you expected maybe next time!!!! - Dfans4evea
39.0 #4027 2:41PM
I absolutely love California, and Disneyland has been a huge part of California for over 50 years now, so I love the fact that they created a park to help us appreciate the rest of California. And yes, I could see walt being proud of it. I think there are a few things he would change but how could u not be proud of something that represents our beautiful state so well? - RickeyCalifornia
157.0 #2191 2:42PM
Rickey you won a RAK. Did you see? - ERICKA
491.4 #244 2:44PM
Love Shangs, and I agree with all of them too!!! - Mrsblue
692.4 #145 2:46PM
Walt would maybe be proud after the construction. I actually don't think it represents our state very well. The tacky Golden Gate Bridge? If they wanted to impress someone, they'd make it almost life size leading up to Paradise Pier. If they wanted to show guests what California is like, there is a ride called "Soarin Over California". You don't need a whole park for that. - goinghometime
24.3 #4712 2:47PM
Thanks ericka! Well goinghometime, I guess that means if you don't like it you don't have to go, which means less crowds for us that do DCA :) - RickeyCalifornia
157.0 #2191 2:54PM
I don't hate it and I said I enjoy going there. Just some constructive criticism and a solid explanation WHY they're spending so much money redoing the whole park. - goinghometime
24.3 #4712 2:56PM
My opinion on the whole thing is that Disney should make 1 big park ( connect the two) and charge more for admission. Make DCA California land or something. And add more attractions to the park. Just my 2 cents. - ERICKA
491.4 #244 2:59PM
I love Disney and thats what this lounge is about ppl who love Disney getting together! I am not saying you shouldn't voice your opinion but there are some people who take a shot at Disney and the parks almost every time they post. DCA is not perfect and is definately not DL but like Auz said its not supposed to
be! To say it is geared towards "Asians" is just offensive and ridiculous! Srsly? - Mrsblue
692.4 #145 2:59PM
its so funny when people write a post like this and never comment or respond. - Kittymeowmeow
271.3 #815 3:02PM
ASIANS???!!! Hardly. It appeals to people who haven't experienced California. That's why it's Disney "California" adventure. For the rest if the world, not just Asians. - ERICKA
491.4 #244 3:06PM
His comment didn't bother me I guess DCA isn't for everyone. It was some of the ones after that I thought were silly - Mrsblue
692.4 #145 3:06PM
@Erika..that has always been my opinion too! There is a lot they can do with the middle space too...restaurants....shops...whatever..@ Shangs....awww thanks!! MUAH! @ the complainers lol I actually think the golden gate bridge was a creative idea for the monorail. Now you are saying you would rather see an almost life size one? So you want almost 2 miles of park to be a bridge? A bit ridiculous don't you think? No one is holding a gun to your head and telling you to go. So stop complaining and stay over at the Disneyland side. But I do not want to hear you complain about the crowds :-) - KissDclown
1088.1 #77 3:07PM
I think most of you have said what I want to say as well...DCA is not supposed to be DL in anyway but it does have it's own magic...I love how they have recreated CA in the park, and I really think they've done an excellent job! Everyone has their own opinion, let's all remember to be respectful of one another out of respect for the amazing man that created this app because of the amazing man who created the Disney magic - disneykimmi
115.7 #2804 3:07PM
Not 2 miles long, as in height wise.. it should be big. That was the original plan anyway, but they shut down the idea because it was 'too expensive'. My criticism doesn't matter anyway anymore since it's all changing. - goinghometime
24.3 #4712 3:11PM
Just throwing my pro-dca two cents in--love it there for all the reasons above: chill vibe, good place to escape when DL is mayhem, great rides. Wide walkways! WOC! - Robynlaurel
650.6 #162 3:14PM
None of us can sat "Walt would have never..." Bc we didnt know walt. Even those that did know him say he was all about business, change, and growth. He expected the resort to exoand, and it did. - michelledork
658.3 #159 3:17PM
But I know walt would have said... Spell check yourself before you post, michelle. Agh! - michelledork
658.3 #159 3:19PM
California Adventure has been, quite possibly, the most brilliant investment Disney has ever made! Permanent ifrastruture, and cheap temporary filler...... It allowed tremendous, um precedented market research and gradual growth, while still generating income..... W Disney war a brilliant business man (AKA hustler) and he would have loved the cash cow that was developed with minimal capital investment!!!! - georgieporgie
116.1 #2799 3:33PM
lmao Michelle! Love it. Personally, I think that it might be best to not post negative threads on a very pro Disneyland and DCA lounge. What did all this accomplish? Absolutely nothing. All it did was make everyone jump on the people that have bash DCA. Again I will say if you do not like it do not go there. That would make me very very happy :-) - KissDclown
1088.1 #77 3:36PM
And as a native Californian I appreciate everything about the spirit of California that DCA represents. It actually makes me swept and proud! Thank you very much! - CravingDisney

692.4 #145 3:52PM
I'm sorry but I'm having a hard time understanding how anybody could be disappointed with California Adventure. We love it!! Anybody that has been there is lucky and should appreciate it's beauty. Think of all those who dream of going but are unable to. My family and I are blessed to have annual passes and love both Disneyland and California Adventure. - MickeyLvr
24.4 #4704 3:53PM
Made for Asians ahahahahahaha omg srsly some people don't understand what stuff sounds like when they type it. I agree if you got something against Disney and are constantly being critical in this lounge this is not the place for you. And now more talking about Knotts berry farm being like the greatest place on earth either. This is a Disney lounge - Smart.tea
205.4 #1549 3:58PM
Love you SmartTea my thoughts EXACTLY! - Mrsblue
692.4 #145 3:59PM
I Love DCA! Between Aariel's Grotto (Cove Bar) and Tower of Terror, I'm SET. it's the only place I can be aure of overloading on Pixar characters and World of Color is just the Ultimate. It's the off-season for both parks right now so it's not necessarily and great time to visit but come in mid June or after and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Trust me! :) - jacqueMeetsWorld
35.6 #4147 4:06PM
Love them both. Totally different, isn't that the point? Can only be at DL today, but would love to hit TOT tonight. - azmousefan

Disney is perfect!!!! - goinghometime
24.3 #4712 4:07PM
Well I hated DCA until they added tsmm and WoC, and now I cant go to Disneyland without stopping by DCA... Plus the food at DCA is better in my opinion.... I love the vibe of DCA - DonaldMissingPants
296.2 #632 4:07PM
DCA has grown on me. It has pretty good food and some innovative attractions but the whole paradise pier area just loses me. I always feel like I'm at a much nicer and cleaner Magic Mountain or temporary carnival. I haven't been on the rapids yet and it looks/sounds a lot better than other rapid rides but that's the thing, it's STILL another rapids ride like in other parks. All the attractions are beautifully executed but the lack of originality in some of them is evident. I'm sure the Disney brass knows this too and that's why they're having to retheme it all. I'm looking forward to the evolution of DCA as I'm sure this quote also applies to DCA: "Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world." - Walt Disney - Polkadobo
372.1 #371 4:44PM
Pixar overload... Not really.. Pixar IS the current generation. Kids 10 and under only had pixar movies, they didnt grow up with the animated films we did. Imagine if Disneyland was covered in Pixar... They had to expand and offer something to a new and growing generation - michelledork
658.3 #159 4:49PM
MAHALO for that quote from Uncle Walt!! And like Dork said, no one can IMAGINE what Walt would or would not say!!! Where is this chick getting all her "insider" info from? Certainly not from Snoopy!! - Shangz
286.7 #687 4:51PM
http://bit.ly/dPWwQv Epcot (Walt's baby) and WESTCOT are the ideal theme parks that present different parts of the world. Now compare that to DCA before you start bashing on me. - goinghometime
24.3 #4712 5:14PM
I've been to Epcot. Felt equally as magical as California Adventure to me. With fewer exciting rides. - Miss.B
6.3 #8775 5:16PM
I like California Adventure but there is just to much construction at this time...... - Disneylove661
30.1 #4365 5:18PM
I can c how all the construction right now can be disapponting, but I love DCA. I love the openness of the park compared to the more narrow walkways of DL. It's a nice break fron the heavier crowds of DL but still has the Disney magic in a newer, fresher way. - Disneyaddict
200.4 #1626 5:24PM
Girl we aren't bashing on you we are just plain tired of you bashing on us and bashing on disney. I understand you have a right to your opinion but you can be very rude about stuff and I am tired of it and I think I'm not alone. Please realize we love Disneyland if you have issues with it maybe there is another app that's designed just for that - Smart.tea
205.4 #1549 5:28PM
No park worldwide...should be compared to another! Each should be appreciated for what it is and not what shoulda, coulda, woulda happened! The End! - Shangz
286.7 #687 5:29PM
Smart Tea you just took the words out of my mouth!!! no one is bashing her but in almost every post on any thread having to do with the parks or other parks this person is very negetive about Disney. I myself have been fed up with it for longer than just today and so have many other people. - MrBlue
232.3 #1207 5:32PM
Never thought I was rude about it, I'm just not afraid to criticize. Being a Disney fan is also realizing the flaws and that it is okay to not like something. Our opinion matters and it's shown by continuing the roaming characters, Aladdin not turning into Toy Story, and of course...DCA being redesigned. But okay, fine, whatever... - goinghometime

I should say this is Mrs. Bluelol. Mr. Blue is at work and always avoids all confrontations. LOL - MrBlue

759.2 #132 5:35PM
You flat out posted a post how you hate everyone who talks like they know everything about Disneyland well I am tired of you think you know everything to. I think it's great you think you know so much and you got friends or whatever but you don't need to act all uppity about it - Smart.tea
205.4 #1549 5:36PM
Maybe you don't realize sometimes you come off as rude and know it all ish. If you have an article somewhere where Walt Disney said " NEVER IN THE FUTURE OF DISNEYLAND OR ANY OTHER PARKS THAT MAYBE BUILT AFTER I AM DEAD DO I EVER WANT TO SEE A FERRIS WHEEL" I will apologize. - MrBlue
232.3 #1207 5:37PM
Dang, I guess I can't go to DCA anymore since I'm not Asian - LBChica

I don't boast about it. Nor do I say where I got crap from. I don't think I know everything. I just know my opinion. - goinghometime
24.3 #4712 5:38PM
Might want to just take a second and review some of your comments--saying DCA is a "complete failure as a park" is not exactly constructive criticism or going to promote fun discourse. Having an opinion is one thing, blanket statements dismissing something most of us cherish is quite another. - Robynlaurel
650.6 #162 5:38PM
@Goinghometime you have said SEVERAL comments to people and I've held my tounge which for me is not easy! So please STOP and grow up because you are out of control. Step off of the high horse, and back away! - PrettyPixie
759.2 #132 5:39PM
The crowds show that it's a failure! And the $$$$$$$ used to FIX IT! Why would they do the whole park again if it WASN'T a failure. - goinghometime
24.3 #4712 5:40PM
Um you do to boast and you do come off like you're the last word of Disney. You got all mad at everyone who didn't agree with you on your opinion of knotts and you basically told everyone they would never be able to appreciate Disneyland if they didn't like knotts. You are straight up rude with your posts - Smart.tea

That's enough guys! This person is clearly thick headed, and their opinion is the only one that matters, we apparently didn't get the memo that world revolves around them and they're going to say mean hurtful inappropriate things to get their point across but its not working! Ahhhhh NOW I get why I like DCA!!! I'm Asian!!! Seriously? and yes, it was Disney's plan to construct a 2200 ft tall bridge, but they didn't do it because it was too expensive!! Uh right! Source please. - Dahulagirl
1053.2 #81 6:06PM
Wow--this thread is pretty funny! Apparently, DCA is geared toward the Asians! Who knew?! - Spoonful_O_Sugar

You wont ever talk to walt. Hes dead. So you will NEVER know what he would want/like/dislike about DCA and the expansion of the Resort. What he wanted in 1955 and what he would have wanted now could change. That is it. End of discussion. Period. Winning. Done. - michelledork

My thoughts; 1) I like DCA. I was raised in Canada and Michigan, so when I came out here, I thought it was pretty dang spiff. I still think that. I love the idea of it and I love the execution. 2) I like Knotts. I grew up going to Cedar Point (which is owned by the same company that owns Knotts) and it was nice to have something so familiar of home when I first came out here. I get that people diss on Knotts, and I get that people diss on DCA, but there is a respectful way to go about it and then there is a not respectful way and some people just decide to take the not respectful way and that is just how it goes. - Gummy

I'm gonna have my In-N-Out now. I'll be in the parks all day tomorrow, so if you see me, don't throw tomatoes and churros at me! Remain seated please! - goinghometime

Wow that all I can say
To my post when you are nit expecting a loud drinking club atmosphere and you are with your 3 lil ones who should nit be around that it a shock. Especially since all you wanted to do was go to monsters Inc . And no when j went there wad not plenty of room we had to manuvere around all the people dancing or drinking. Just wasn't expecting that . I was dissapointed with Disney and at the Moment thought they sold out . But I'm over it . I love all things Disney . And your right I don't like that section at night so I stay away . My kids Are to young to be around all that . - sylviamta

Adding the 2nd park was to offer a different option for people to enjoy an homage to the animation legacy. If you aren't a fan, you aren't being forced to go. My husband and I adore this park for the ambiance and celebration of what California and animation have together. This has likely been established several times in this thread.
I write, however, to remind everyone using the MouseWait app, that the spirit and purpose of the entire MW program is to foster the spirit and enjoyment of the park(s) for everyone. (I read the Terms and Conditions!) You don't have to love everything that Disney as a company puts out - but respecting it is paramount. Anyone who has been to Magic Mountain understands that the rides don't always make the park. THIS is why we go to Disneyland.
If you have not read the concept and rules of the Lounge -pretty please - do. :) Here's the link!!
