#retroday My dad, aunt, uncle and grandparents, 1968. On a trip a year later my Dad was asked by Disneyland security to please leave, due to long hair! Thankfully, it didn't ruin his love for the place!
Talk about retro! Just found my dad's pictures from his trip in back in '58. He went on Autopia with his brother and wasn't allowed to drive because he was too little. 40 years later, I wasn't allowed to drive and so he took over for me. He finally got his chance!
Pictures of my family at the castle with my parents and Grandparents, in front of the Matterhorn, w always got those big lollipops! Bottom right has the Swiss Family treehouse in the background. My Dad and Grandparents are gone now and these memories and pictures are priceless to me.
#RetroDay - I got the idea for this from Lumpia King Chris! I posted this on Instagram a couple months ago. It's not fully lined up, but it works LOL! The pic was taken in the Summer of 1995 during the 40th anniversary. I was 3, and my cousin was 6!
A personal favorite is the beautifully hand crafted music box
A fun video from 2013, the story behind the music box with Clopin, Figaro and the even watch the Tangled Tower being put into the Fantasy Faire:
Of course, no trip to the Fantasy Faire would be complete without a visit to the Royal Hall. Loved this artist rendition, that's just how my girls are when they enter the Hall. ::sigh::
Took this next part directly from Disney Parks Blog:
“After walking into our main entrance, you will first go through a garden-like setting before entering the reception hall,” said Michel Den Dulk, Creative Director of Fantasy Faire for Walt Disney Imagineering. “Once inside the Royal Hall, guests will discover a beautiful gothic interior with nice wallpaper, wall cresting, wood finishes and chandeliers.”
Passing through a series of spaces, including the Grand Hall, you’ll have the opportunity to meet as many as three Disney princesses, from classic stories such as “Cinderella” and “Sleeping Beauty.”
Dont forget to grab a sweet treat from Maurice's Treats! At the time, (isn't there more now?) the adorable cart featured 3 “Twists” and a new signature beverage: Boysen Apple Freeze.
In a tribute to the historic Carnation Plaza Gardens, a shield over the archway leading from Fantasy Faire to Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland displays the letters “CPG.”
