#16.MW101 w/SICπ:: {Search feature}:: The search feature of this app is a highly useful and easily overlooked part of this app, and can be found at the top of the lounge. With the app being around a couple years already, your question most likely has already asked and answered---by doing a quick search you can most likely find your answer in just a couple clicks. If not, go ahead and post. π ....Posting DL news and tips:: Please take a couple sec's and search the Disney news you want to post. With SO many on-the-ball users, its very likely that it has already been posted. In that case you can add your thoughts to the pervious post. This helps cut down one flooding of the lounge, and prevents pushing other live content off the front page. π ...Thank you!!
#15.MW101 w/SICπ:: {Preventing Gray photo pollution} I know this is looong over due! But here are some things we all need to know about preventing gray photos from consuming the lounge. For whatever reason, I think this seems to be mainly a Driod problem, when you are in a low service area (from my understanding). Here are some steps to keep in mind when posting a photo: π΄1} After you hit submit, STAY on that screen until you see the message of success shown in photo 2. This shouldn't take long, and if it does, it's especially important to stay on that page because it could mean the service is slower at that point and your chances of a gray photo are sky high. π΄2} After it says 'Success' PLEASE just take a sec to check and make sure it uploaded correctly, if it didn't follow the steps in the last photo and DELETE the photo yourself. It is YOUR responsibility as the poster to make sure it loaded properly or gets deleted promptly. π΄3} If you are having trouble getting into the lounge on a busy day, to upload or check on your photo, it is best to wait until you have the service needed to post the photo properly---instead of flooding the lounge with blank or gray photos. If we do not follow these guidelines, gray photos end up flooding the lounge, and push successfully loaded posts away. I know it's exciting to share a photo with us, but we will al still love it when you have better service and haven't already flooded us with grays!π Thank you so much!!

On Androids, you don't get the popup confirmation, it just take you to the lounge. I've found that sometimes if I have bad service (i.e. in the park) I will be stuck on the uploading screen so long, that my phone will go into sleep mode. Everytime it does this, I get the grey on a picture, so tip to Android users: just tap the screen while it's loading to make sure phone doesn't go to sleep. - Sarafina

How to Create Your Own MouseWait Magazine with MyFEED. Quickly learn how to use one of the most powerful features of the Lounge, MyFEED. This allows you to customize your Lounge and follow only the people you are interested in. Let me know if this helps, we will make more of these videos if they are helpful.

#14.MW101 w/SICπ::{Editing posts and Comments}- I have noticed that a lot of people are adding a comment to their post, or comment to their comment correcting their previous post/comment. As I have said before in class, there are SO many features that sometimes it's hard to keep track of or be aware of them. That's what I am here for! : ) π΄Editing your posts::: In your post there is a MW icon in the upper right, that icon has A LOT of useful features (of some we have already gone over). Tap on it and a drop down menu will appear - one of the options is 'Edit' (photo 1). That will take you to photo 2 where you can edit your post and submit it. π΄Editing comments::: There are two ways of doing this. 1. Click on the 'E' below your comment (in photo 3) it will take you to an edit page as shown in photo 2. OR you can go to 'My MW' click on the MW icon in the upper right corner, and again a drop down menu will appear. Click 'Comments' and search out the one you want to edit. This last option is useful if the post you had commented on a post 5mins ago is already on page 5,003.π ......π’Please remember to use this feature to keep posts and comments clear and easy to understand. If your phone auto corrects something and you have already hit submit, just use these steps to correct the error. Please do NOT make a comment under your post(/comment) with the correction, most likely it will get lost in the comments (and most likely the comments will be about your error, and not at all the subject of your post) not get read at all and will just confuse the readers, and clutter up the lounge. This is an extremely useful and important feature Admin has set up for us in order to keep the lounge flowing smoothly and stay on track. If you have any questions please away! π (MW101 w/SICπ is sponsored by MW)
#13. MW101 w/SICπ- Morning bite:: Admin has many testers that test new features in the lounge or work on glitches. imegoga is one of them and has been with us for years! Most likely (now days) you might seeing non Disney photos, or the same test shot many times, just be patient, it is all for your benefit and they are not trolls. Notice how they don't taunt you like a troll would, they just ignore for the most part, and continue testing. π Have a wonderful day!!

#12. MW101 w/SICπ:: {MW Crowd Index} Spring break is starting and Summer is just around the corner (yay!!), "How crowded will the parks be.." will continue to be the most FAQ in the lounge (understandably so). I have already done a MW101 on how you can very quickly and easily tell for yourself how crowded the park currently is. You can find that post here: http://tinyurl.com/7zg5oa2. I have seen some questions recently on the MW Crowd Index, how it works and how accurate it is. From the Rules and FAQs:: "How is this number accurate? MouseWait has the most real-time wait time submissions in the world and we have designed our advanced algorithm to select the most accurate times, mixed w/ several other factors, to generate the MWCI real-time. We also have a large amount of MouseWaiters in the park at any given time." While this system is still fairly new, it relays A LOT on us, the MW community and the accurate wait times we proved it. Admin works so hard on these helpful tools for us, it is so important to remember to take just a couple sec's to enter wait times and help Admin back!! : ) It is the best and fastest way to rack up some points too! Once you get the hang of it, it almost becomes 2nd nature. You're wait times not only help keep MW #1, but will continue to feed the Crowd Index w/ accurate information so that we can all retire our Crystal Balls and continue to confidently direct people to it for answers. You can find a 101 on how to enter wait times here: http://tinyurl.com/7ndkabu. If you want to know more go here: http://tinyurl.com/2arrav7 and read the detailed MW article on the Crowd Index. ......................Also taken from the Rules and FAQs is how to read the percentage the Crowd index gives and provides a little crowd prediction for the year!
π΄100 Capacity β not letting people in the park
π΄95 Near capacity β requiring hand stamps and rumors of blocking people out (ie Christmas vacation, New Years)
π΄90 4th of July/Thanksgiving and other major holidays packed but no rumors of reaching capacity
π΄80 Summer, spring break high crowds but they are also running a lot of trains/cars for everything
π΄70 Feb-March β not busy but starting to pickup
π΄60 Jan after the holiday and everyone is back to work/school
π΄50 Sept-Oct after kids are back to school
..........So while it can get old to see the same question, we need to remember to do your part and enter wait times...it will also provide you with piles and piles of good pixie dust in your life!πβ¨

#11. MW101 w/SICπ:: {HIDDEN MICKEYS} Looking for something fun to help keep the kiddos entertained in long lines and busy days? Heard of Hidden Mickeys but not sure where to find the little guys? Well look no further, of course here at MW we have a list of Hidden Mickeys you can find in the Disneyland park. You can also keep track of the ones you have seen, by putting a little check mark in the box next to it. You can find this list on the MW Dashboard, scroll down to 'Hidden Mickey Checklist'...and enjoy the hunt!! π΄Friendly reminder from the Rules and FAQs, passed along with a π...."PLEASE NOTE: A Hidden Mickey is a representation of Mickey Mouse which is subtly inserted into the design of attractions, hotels, or other locations on Disney property. It is NOT something that looks like Mickey in your food, in your garden, on a car, in your bowl of Cheerios, or anywhere else. It is something that was intentionally integrated by Disney Imagineers on Disney property so please donβt post a βHidden Mickeyβ unless it meets that criteria." Also please be sensitive when posting photos of these, since others who are hunting, might want to find these on their own π Have fun!!
I need to check off the ones I have found. π - Dizkid

#10. MW101 w/SICπ:: {Wait Times, Fast Passes, ToDo List} π΄Entering WaitTimes:: Start out on the MW Dashboard, select the park you are in and scroll down to the ride you are at and enter the current wait time as you see it. From the MW Rules and FAQs, "When you enter wait times, it helps the real-time displays as well as helping our algorithm make future predictions β thank you for entering accurate times, it really helps us out and you get MouseRank points for doing it! Please only post a wait time only if you have observed the time FIRST HAND β do not guess or enter times without first hand knowledge. Piggybacking times is not allowed. This is simply going down the list and entering times that are already posted, without actually verifying the wait time at the attraction. Our system will automatically detect this and ban you from the app. DO NOT ENTER WAIT TIMES FROM THE WAIT BOARD ON MAIN STREET β These times are not always accurate and they are not real-time wait times. If an attraction is a βwalk-onβ (no wait) then post 1 minute". π΄Fastpasses:: If you are entering a wait time for a ride that has a fastpass return time, please remember to update the time the ride currently says. Just click on the green FP box as shown in the bottom left photo. The bottom right, shows the FP entry page. If there are no more FPs available that day, click the 'No Fastpass' box. π΄ToDo List:: When you click on a ride to enter a time you will see a big plus sign (as shown in the bottom left photo), if you click on that, it will add that ride to your 'ToDo List' that you can find on the dashboard. To easily keep track of the rides you want to do that day, and is also handy if you tend to mainly check the wait times of just your favorite rides. π΄Also, at the top of photo 2, you see a 'Sort' button, this can be used to sort the rides by land or alphabetically. If you have any questions, please ask! Thank you!!π
Thank you SIC. I was surprised that some newer MWers thought the only way to earn rank, was through the trivia game. Wait times are SO important. πππ - DisneyfanZoe

#8 MW101 w/SIC:: {Posting to the right lands} We are noticing a lot of posts lately that are being posted to the wrong land. Please be aware of where your post is going. If you mainly intend on posting to the Hub, please make sure The Hub is your default land in your profile (shown in photo 1). When using the 'post' option on the top right, please make sure to select the land it should go to (photo 2). In my last post on finding the "Lands" in MW it explains what should be posted in them. You can also find an explanation in the Rules and FAQs. Please be sensitive to this topic, Admin created these lands for a reason and should used as such. If not it makes more work for Admin and others who's time would be better spent improving the app in other ways. If you have any question/or issues on where your post is going, please use the 'Post' option on the top right (you dont have to post a photo to use it), and select the land before submitting. If I really went over this in detail, it would be a loooong post. So let's do a Q and A on this, if you are confused on anything or are having problems with this. Thank you so much!! π π’π’ UPDATE::: I added Admins description of the lands from the Rules and FAQs, in the comments of this post. Please read over them. It does say that if something is posted to the wrong land, it CAN be removed.
Thanks SIC for doing these! Everyone should be defaulted to Disneyland Talk, which is where you should stay if you do not like non-Disney talk. Posts in Disneyland Talk need to stay on subject and keep the "vacation atmosphere" - if you are having a bad day, do not post about it in Disneyland Talk. - Admin

#7. MW101 w/SIC::{Notifications} I am posting this just in case some of our MWers are not too familiar with push notifications and how to set up the preferences you like in your phone. First, go into the 'Settings' of your phone, hit 'Notifications', scroll down till you see 'MouseWait' and click on it. In the last photo you will see just how many options there are for receiving notifications for this app. Fish around in here and make sure you have all your settings the way you want them on your end. If you are not receiving MW notifications or the sounds with them, before you email Admin please double check the settings on your phone. It could be just that simple! Thank you!!π
Do Driods not get push notifications yet? I was trying to look up how a Driod would do this, but I would think it would be something similar. At least this would make people aware. π - Sweet_Irish_Cream(SIC)

#5 MW101 w/SIC:: Profile pics!! Having a profile pic is the first thing that separates you from shady users (for the most partπ). So this is important to know, and has been asked about lately. Start on your MW dashboard, scroll down till you see 'Your MouseRank', click that and you should see the profile pic option. Click the camera icon and pick your photo. Since MW is ages 13 and up, we very kindly ask that it is a family friendly photo. Depending on MW maintenance and other factors, your profile pic could take a bit of time to ether show up your switch. Your patience on this is very much appreciated! ***Fine print:: 'MW101 w/SIC' is not responsible for the crushing disappointment of those who find out other user pics can be quite misleading, or the use of the same icon used by two or more users. Enjoy!π
#4.MW101 w/SIC, Lands of the Lounge:: First let me explain that I have been asked to do these tutorials for MW, this topic and the last were requested by Admin--and for course am happy to do them. I do not do these because I am feeling super naggy lately.π Onto Lands of the lounge. MW has many different lands, set aside for many different reasons. You can find these by hitting the 'Search' button at the top of main Lounge Menu (as circled in photo1). A pop-up will appear and below the search are a list of the other Lands you can visit and contribute to. DL Real-Time:: Is where you can find live photos, news from the park and where you should be able to find the daily Roll Call. DL Talk:: Is for Disney related topics only (unlike the Hub were we discuss non Disney as well), Food Reviews:: Visit this land if you are looking to get inspired by members photos and reviews of the many different Menu items of the park and where to find them! CHUB33:: Head into this land for a wonderful, supportive group that will help keep you on your weight loss goals in and out of the park. Ask them about the CHUB33 Circuit at the park. Games: This land has been used for MW Trivia, Polls, TV shows and more! MW Trading Post:: Love Vinyl's or Pins? This is your land to post photos and strike up trades with fellow MWers! And it is always updating with great finds! ....Please take some time to familiarize yourself with these lands, the people in them and all that they have to offer! You might just find yourself a new hangout! Enjoy!!Β π

#3. MW101 with SIC:: How about a little MW Detox to ring in the new year? And it's easier than drinking juice all day. If you feel that current posts or members are clogging up your magical day on MW, you have two wonderful choices at your finger tips. #1. Remove Post: (As shown in photo 1) First click on the MW clock at the top right of the post and a drop down menu will appear. Click on 'Remove Post', a prompt will pop up that will ask you to confirm, because this action can not be reversed (and just cross your fingers you don't miss something good or funny, haha). Click 'OK', and poof, the post is gone from your feed. #2: Block:: (As shown in photo 2) If you find you are 'RP'ing a lot of posts from the same person, just click on their MW name, and at the top bar to the left of the MW Clock you will see the word 'Block', click it and again you will be prompted to confirm this action, hit 'OK', and that member will be removed from your feed from then on out. If you want to UNblock a member at any time, click 'MyMW' > the first MW clock > Scroll down till you see 'Blocked Users', and click on 'Unblock' from anyone on your list. Happy MW Detoxing!!π

MW101 with SIC:: Today's Lesson is "How can I tell if the park is crowded?". The top photo is the dashboard of this app, tap the park you would like to visit and check the top part that is circled the the photo below, the 'MW Crowd Index' is usually a good indicator. But keep in mind that the MW Crowd Index is still very new and while it still gets it's feet on the ground, sometimes it's best to scroll down through the current wait times and check some of the Eticket times, such as Indy, Space, Matterhorn, Star Tours and so on, are all great indicators of how busy it is...and if you don't like what you see, check DCAs...hahaπ. That will give you a great thumbnail of the current crowds at the parks! Thank you for joining me today in MW 101....tune in next time for, "What's the weather like at the parks?" πππ
I just want to say, you'd be surprised how many people aren't aware of some of the features MW offers. I talk with people all the time who never knew there was a lounge, and it's the 3rd button down. We can never assume people know about these things and just arent using them. I don't think there's any harm in posting tips people might not be aware of. Yes I'm aware that some days and circumstantis make the times and such not as accurate as others, but since the beginning of MW time we have had people who have spent countless hours of their time entering in wait times so that this app can be the most accurate out there, and I am aware that Unfortunatly the service has not been the best the past couple of weeks and that makes it hard to update times, we are working on fixing that round the clock! And it will be fixed. This info has been useful in the past and will be even more useful going forward as this app continues to get better and better by so many wonderful helpful contributors. ππ - Sweet_Irish_Cream(SIC)

If you are packing for a trip to the park, scroll down more and you will find up to a ten day weather outlook, and many more detailed options on conditions at the park.
