Thank you for your wonderful post! I think being there on opening day and seeing the castle for the first time would've been absolutely incredible!! And, knowing that Walt was there, on the resort. I definitely would have walked up to him, said hello, and asked for a photo. I probably would've been wearing a nice soft, lemon yellow dress and brought a cardigan for later. (Love how mid-century Tomorrowland is! Those chairs and shade providers😍) thanks!😘 - misschurro  7626.4 #12 10:02AM

I hope the next monorail mark 8 has ac in it. One thing about the monorail is wdw still uses the older model from ours but there is a true transportation use throughout. And one change for the monorail here was the firsts one was 3 cars then gradually extended to 4 and now current 5 cars capacity. Β On the speedometer dial it appears the monorail can travel up to 60 MPh but does not travel this speed and of course riding in the front of back is awesomeΒ  - pikarich  6229.1 #22 8:32AM

I really love and appreciate these posts, thank you so much!  I wish I could have experienced the Mine Train, it looks really neat, and I would have loved the Art of Animation. Funny to think we would need tickets to enjoy these attractions. I'm so used to walking through the gates and just enjoying everything, not having to pick an choose which tickets to use and which to save. Amazing how Small World has endured so long with so few changes. Hoping they never add Frozen or Star Wars to that classic ride lol!! Thanks again!! :) - LiveLaughLoveDisney  301.3 #0 2:52PM
I'm so glad to hear you enjoy them! Means a lot that you took the time to tell me so. Thank you! I agree, it would be so odd to have to have individual tickets for attractions like a carnival. Thank goodness they changed that. Too much planning lol! My kids so love Small world. I bet they would be able to pick out any small change or substitution. I'm with you, that would be tragic to save such a classic attraction! - Duchess_SMK  6549.5 #19 4:00PM

I love ToT! πŸ’– Such a fun read and neat to see the opening ceremony with the fireworks and lightening effects!  I just love the feel of Old Hollywood. ✨😍Haven't been on any other versions, but would love to do so. I'm definitely hopeful that the Guardians of the Galaxy change is just a rumor--I honestly don't think there's much truth to that idea since ToT is such a cornerstone for DCA and the Old  Hollywood theme is classic CA, and the ride is beloved and iconic in the park ...  I just feel like it would be like taking the Matterhorn and making it into a Star Wars or Lone Ranger ride...doesn't make any sense to me πŸ˜‚ but I do suppose anything is possible?  - Spoonful_O_Sugar  641.9 #335 8:35AM
I'm thrilled you enjoyed it! I agree, the old glamorous feeling in the Hollywood area is lovely. I so hope you're right about the rumor. πŸ˜” makes me sad! Ha! I never thought of it like that, Lone Ranger mountain is just...wrong!  - Duchess_SMK  6549.5 #19 10:53AM
Hi! πŸ‘‹πŸΌ. I've always enjoyed that very haunting music, while waiting in queue. It's just works to make it feel creepier. I also like, in this instance, how the palm trees are not manicured and look as if they've been abandoned. What a fabulous opening with Mrs Serling! Great special effects with the fireworks! For years I wanted nothing to do with this attraction, thank goodness Mr. talked us Churros into it- it's now a family favorite. I've never been to any other DL resort. As for the change, I feel like it's a Β s t r e t c h. I love Guardians of the Galaxy, but I just have to wonder how the Imagineers are going to retheme it and make it feel natural?? Thanks again for your post!😘 - misschurro  7626.4 #12 9:02AM
Hi! Me too! I get all excited in line, especially since I hardly ever get to enjoy it! I'm glad Mr churro talked you into it too! I still remember seeing the pic from your first time. πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸ» I agree a total stretch! It doesn't seem possible to me to fit! Thanks for taking the time to read and comment! Always appreciated!  - Duchess_SMK  6549.5 #19 9:06PM

Man I hope it's not true πŸ˜“ , it would be a huge mistake.  It seems Disney is removing everything unique and nostalgic lately and replacing it with the crap fad of the moment.  I fear in 10 years the place I love will be unrecognizable.  TOT was the biggest pull for us in that park... This ride is nothing less than perfection! Although, I will admit I really miss Paul Frees' dialogue when you go through the cove that takes you from the past to the present. I miss it every time..."No fear have ye of evil curses says you, Ayyyyeee....   properly warned ye be says I...   who knows when that evil curse will strike the greedy beholders of this bewitched treasure!"(Old ghost's voice)   "Perhaps he knows too much...   he's seen the cur-sed treasure...   he knows where it be hiding? Now proceed at your own risk...  ye may not survive to pass this way again!"I swear, I hear it in my head every time we sail through that cove and I would love for it to return someday, even just temporarily!☺️ - Nala  382.9 #619 9:24AM

Thank you for another great post! I like the new entrance and overhead walkway, but the swiss family is my favorite. Reminds me of the magic i felt as a child. - kimdis  55.2 #4742 5:20PM

That rock next to the left waterfall looks like a skull. From this view it looks different than when I'm standing near the first waterfall. I always think there should be a wading pool right above the waterfalls.  - secretagentangel  7429.7 #14 6:49PM

Wow! What a fantastic viewpoint!!  Really gives great perspective of how things have changed.Incredible that there was a parking lot just right there. - misschurro  7626.4 #12 10:16AM
And isn't it funny that a tram took us to our cars, more or less, when now we walk those same distances to see attractions!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - misschurro  7626.4 #12 10:18AM
Miss the trams from this side. Buses are more WDW - E-Ticket  1477.8 #122 11:14AM
It always felt so far though... Maybe cause I was a kid? Loved the old tram. - brigeet  613.3 #353 9:46PM
Everything!  I loved everything back then...the huge parking lot, the tram ride to the front gate...trying to remember where we parked...and changing into my PJ's before the drive back to West LA (so my parents could carry me to bed and then in the morning I'd wake up and see the shopping bags and balloon...oh the memories!) - msdizmaui  763.0 #267 12:58AM

Love that picture. I think the Disneyland Hotel had just one tower back then. And I remember one lone year (1994) where my premium pass got me parking right by the ticket booths. Thanks for sharing! - redsoxcarlos  3830.1 #42 6:11AM

Hi again y'all! My MW is acting kinda kooky right now on the ride home. For some reason, Β I'm not able to read or reply to all Β your wonderful comments. πŸ˜” Please know I plan to! Just may be later in the day when I'm able to. 😘😘  - Duchess_SMK  6549.5 #19 5:23PM
Rollo Rumkin, Cousin Algernon, Ned Nub, Phineas P. Pock .Thank you for sharing this post. I always enjoy your posts. This is my 2nd favorite ride and a must do when my family goes. I usually have to drag my husband and daughter on it at least once and then I go by myself haha. It was my moms favorite ride. When I go to the parks I am always reminded of fond memories with spending time with her there; this ride is probably one of my favorite memories of us :)  - Wickednspurs  16.7 #8471 10:15AM
I know exactly what you mean...   Haunted Mansion has always been my most favorite ride of all time but I have to ride Matterhorn every time because that was my Mom's favorite and it brings back the best memories😊 - Nala  382.9 #619 11:25PM
