Sleeping Beauty's Castle 1967!
Only a few minor changes have been made over the years. The coat of arms (not Disney's) is on the castle. It was added sometime between June or July 1965. These pictures have come to mean so much to me, thanks for letting me share them with you. This picture was taken by a family member. I am the little one in the stroller.

Road trip! We sure have come a long way. I would choose the highway Slumber Bus from the startling idea board. From the experts more realistic future I choose the punch card automatic navigation system with synchronized scanning map in a highly specialized pleasure vehicle. So cool! And Happy Mother's Day! Yes I've been on all the Main Street vehicles at one time or another! They certainly add to the charm of Main Street. My favorite has always been the Omnibus on the top level!!! So fun! I love the sounds of the motor and the horn of the cars going down the street. With the music, sights and sounds... Thank you so much for this amazing post, as she is truly someone to be honored. I have had the fortune of meeting Alice and Marc on three occasions and they were the most gracious people, who were incredibly touched by the kind words and compliments from people. The last time I saw them was three weeks before he passed away and he was telling me stories of when he worked on HM and she was having to lovingly finish his sentences for him. I love these early animations. I noticed the animators worked on synchronizing the music and sounds with the animation. This was such a new medium at the time and animators were often in unknown territories of drawing, art, and music. It's so cool to see how this developed into what became Disney animation. From what i read, it marks a turning point in animation style. Beforehand, characters would start & stop almost mechanically. Norm Ferguson (one of the animators) developed a style where the characters never completely stopped, but when one part would stop another part would start moving, making the whole movement much more fluid. Did you know that the actual Tower is one of the tallest buildings in Anaheim? Also, because of its height, it would have required a light on top for the pilots flying over if the height went over 200 feet. So, Disney made it 199 feet tall, thus not requiring a red light and to keep the tower in "show". - BaseballMickey_CM
