I was thinking about starting a daily goal challenge. The idea is that you can share your daily goal and the results of the goal. Maybe it'll get me thinking and motivated.
I have another good quote from Kim Benson: What you eat in private and what you wear in public. Hardest part of eating changes besides hunger is being honest with myself. Ironically the planning makes it easier. - Plumiegirl

Daily goals are very important, and so easy to forget in the hustle and bustle! I feel like I fell asleep in December and have just woke up to realize it is May already! Maybe a daily goal will help to keep me on track, too. Love the idea! - Duchess73

I thought a lot about my goal for today. My goal is to have a fruit and/or vegetable with every meal or snack. What's your goal?
I tried to get on here earlier, but I allowed my day to overtake me. My goal was to not work through my break today like I did the rest of the week and get outside and walk. It was an hour later than I planned, but I did go out and take my walk. I hope you achieved your goal today Mrs.mouse! - Duchess73

Came home from work and made my favorite (low-cal) cole slaw recipe and thought that I'd share. I'm not sure where I got the recipe - South Beach, Atkins, who knows...but it's easy, low-cal/low-fat and delicious! Hope y'all like it (sorry...don't know the points)! 1 med head cabbage (1-1/2lbs) shredded or thinkly sliced; 3/4 c. low fat mayo; 1/2 c. low-fat sour cream; 2T. cider vinegar; 2 pks. More...
Sounds good! Thank you!! - vernswifevickie

I had to go to Oahu yesterday for a meeting and I'm proud to report that I still stayed pretty much on track (although didn't do Jenny all day). Ate Jenny breakfast bar on the plane, then was fortunate to go with the person that was supposed to order the lunches so I got to get a salad for myself. The hardest part was the after "drinks and pu-pus" - just had one glass of wine and only a few bites of food....not too bad. - msdizmaui

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all my Chub33 friends! I had to work today (got to celebrate yesterday with my sons). Blew it yesterday and vowed to get back on track today and did...until my son brought me home a McDonalds Hot Fudge Sundae! Oh well...tomorrow is another day...
Happy Mother's Day to you too! I also blew it big time this weekend. Having a hard time getting things together this week. - Mrs.mouse

A couple of you asked how the Cooking Light recipes were going. So far so good :) The first was a ground sirloin with cabbage seasoned with turmeric and ground red pepper, very good and super simple. I also did a apple cinnamon stuffed french toast, also very tasty. Tonight I'm going to try the loaded baked potato soup.
Glad to hear its going well. The food sounds yummy. Post some recipes sometime. - Mrs.mouse

Hi everyone!! Happy Monday!!! I ate my way through the weekend and find myself 7 points in the negative and needing to regroup and get back on track today. Who is with me??
I'm right there with you. This weekend I ate 2 pieces of pizza, a pound of clams, sliders, ice cream, 2 hamburgers, and French fries. OMG. For some reason I have a ravenous hunger. I never eat like that. - PirateQueenBriezy

I feel your pain. I ended up gaining 1/2 a pound last week, which I'm sure is due to my indulging on Saturday and Sunday. I did good today though...let it go Jan... - msdizmaui

Hey everyone! I am going to start losing weight and getting into shape.. My goal is to run the Tinkerbell half in Jan.. I know I need to loose about 60lbs.. My current activity level is couch potato, mom taxi driver.. I have no clue where to start any advice is greatly appreciated
Welcome! Start by making small goals like jogging for 5 minutes then slowly work up to longer distances. There is a great training program by Jeff Galloway on the runDisney website. I used that to train for my first half and now I've done 9 half marathons. Good luck with your training! Keep us posted on your progress ✨ - PirateQueenBriezy

good luck. I tip my hats off to runners. Even when I was in shape and serving our country as a Marine, I couldn't run to save my life. - GoofyMom77

Good for you. Set reasonable and achievable goals. Best of luck on your journey. Keep us posted. - Mrs.mouse
420.2 #306 10:45PM
Hi there! I think I said this on your post that was in the Hub the other night, but a lot of people start running with the Couch to 5K program, and then pick up the half marathon training from there. Good luck! Remember to set goals, stick to a reasonable plan, and feed your body well: if you're going to run, your body needs fuel! A lot of people try to cut their calories way low and end up burning out because they don't have the energy to keep training. Eat healthily and fuel your runs! - Spoonful_O_Sugar

It's Wednesday!! I'm in the middle of week four Turbo Fire. Since starting I'm down 3lbs. I found at my local grocery store a cookbook/magazine that has 195 main dish recipes 300 calories or under from Cooking Light. I have to wait till this weekend to fully implement it, but I have tried some of the dishes with the ingredients I have at home. It has breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and soups/sal More...

Cereal doesn't have to be bad, does it? I'd never survive on a diet if I had to cook every meal...that's why JC works for me! Stick with it GoofyMom (and feel free to let us know about the good recipes...as long as they're easy...lol) - msdizmaui

Same here SoS. Every night it's the same thing. Eat dinner...eat dessert (Jenny Craig of course), then scrounge to see what else I can get away with. Tonight it was strawberries, and 2 pieces of celery with peanut butter! I'm just so hungry!!! AGGHHHH! - msdizmaui

This is why this app is so much more than an app. I have had a lot of health problems over the past year. It has left me emotionally, physically, and hormonally drained. Hello, friends! We leave for Disneyland on Thursday. We are getting up at 4am and I have a feeling I won't sleep a wink that night. ;-)
I'm not sure if I met my 10lb weight loss goal. I was half way there about a month ago. I haven't been counting or weighing weekly, but I've been watching what I eat and controlling my portions. I started emeals a couple weeks ago and it has completely changed ou More...

I'm feeling very motivated today. I hope I can make this feeling last all week.
Also, has anyone ever cooked with spaghetti squash. I picked one up and am not sure the best way to serve it.
I tried one once and it was a major failure (and it was supposedly a "can't fail" microwave recipe). I'd like to hear tips/suggestions on this one also. - msdizmaui
518.7 #223 10:48PM
It's been a while, but I cooked it once. I put it in the oven on a baking sheet. Cut length wise and seasoned with Olive Oil, salt & pepper. Then you can use a fork and it will shred. Maybe search Pinterest for some good recipes. I cant remember how long to bake it in the oven. - Fanatic4Disney
257.9 #926 11:39PM
I've never cooked one myself because I can't stand it, but this is how my mom always made spaghetti squash when I was a kid. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 435.8 #283 7:22AM
I put it into the steamer on the stove wait bout 7-10 minutes an then fork shred it out onto a plate. I squeeze a Meyer lemon and a paper thin bit a butter with lemon pepper and herbs sprinkled on it. Maybe a dash of Parmesan on it too. - Plumiegirl
3322.0 #10 10:22PM
The spaghetti squash turned out so well. I will be making it again. - Mrs.mouse
420.2 #306 2:41AM
What method did you use? I didn't like it so maybe I need to try a different way. Glad you liked it! - Fanatic4Disney 257.9 #926 10:03AM
I punctured holes in the spaghetti squash and boiled it for about 30 min. I then allowed it to cool, cut it along the equator scooped out the seeds, then used a fork to pull the strans. I put the squash into the sauce I had made and allow to cook for 30 min. I find that if its cooked more its not as crunchy and takes of a more pasta like texture. I made a light version of turkey tetrizinni with the squash. It was very good. - Mrs.mouse 420.2 #306 2:41PM
That sounds much better than what my mom used to make! Maybe I'll try spaghetti squash again... 😃 - Spoonful_O_Sugar 435.8 #283 6:55PM
Wow! Ill have to try that. When I made it, it still hade a crunchy/rough texture. - Fanatic4Disney 257.9 #926 9:19AM
