Aaaaack!!! We are about 2 weeks out from the Rock & Roll and I'm pretty sure I broke my toe this morning! I tripped over one of our bags in out Motel room as we were packing up. It's purple and painful....it looks like no Rock & Roll for me. I'm pretty bummed about it :(
Oh no. I'm sorry. I hope you didn't break your toe. I hope you're able to put your feet up, ice your toe and take it easy. - Mrs.mouse

Haha! My sister did my pedi for me before we left for the weekend! I'm going to the doctor at noon today. I think it's only a broken toe but I'm having it checked out just to be sure. - vernswifevickie

So...the good news is that nothing is broken. It's all bruising and soft tissue injury. He said its similar to the sprain that happens when you twist and roll your ankle...except its my toe. They buddy taped it and gave me a boot to wear. He said no running at all for at least a week and then I can MAYBE start back at about 10% of what I usually do and work up from there. So, no Rock & Roll :( But it should heal with no lasting damage. It sure does hurt...lol - vernswifevickie

Hang in there. This is a real testament to how far you've come. Not too long ago you would have been thrilled to have a reason to not run. Look at you now! You are amazing. - Mrs.mouse 420.7 #307 8:55PM
Glad you are ok. Can you bicycle instead like a light workout? - Plumiegirl 3322.9 #10 9:23PM
Glad to hear it isn't broken! Sorry you won't make it to the Rock & Roll, but we'll be here to cheer you on your next adventure! - Duchess73 294.0 #644 9:26PM
Thank you!! Plumie, he said to try and rest it and do nothing much at all for a week. Then he suggested biking or the eliptical to keep up my cardio while I ease back into running. I still have a gym membership that I never use because I'd rather run ....lol....looks like I'll be hitting the eliptical there next week. - vernswifevickie 348.6 #416 6:54AM
Glad to hear its not broken, but I'm sorry about the Rock and Roll Half. There's always next time :) Have you ever thought of swimming? My husband swam and coached competitive (US Masters) swimming for years, and it's an excellent complement to running because it's such great cardio but non-impact. Just an idea! Glad to hear there won't be lasting damage! - Spoonful_O_Sugar 436.2 #285 8:12AM

Today's goal is no fast food as I'm taking my daughter to a dr appointment an hour away. We are gone for about 3 hours total (we do this 2x a week for her treatments). If all goes well we will only need to go 1x a week! I'm allowing myself to get a drink, but no food. Also, I want to continue with my goal of fruit and/or veggies at every meal. This has been quite successful this week. I'm loving More...

Happy Monday! It's a new week, a new day. My daily goal for today is to go on a walk. Share you goal for today and the outcome.

Happy Tuesday. I carefully considered my goal for today. I want to tell myself "no" and follow through. Such as, no you don't need to eat a bowl of Mac and cheese as a midnight snack, an apple is a better choice. I struggle with that.
I did achieve my goal. I told myself "no fast food". I had errands to run and didn't want to stop for lunch. Instead I stopped for a drink and ate when I got home. I also went on a walk. It's been a good day. - Mrs.mouse
420.7 #307 8:54PM
I love this idea of a daily goal!! Mine today is to not eat as a comfort over my disappointment about hurting my foot two weeks before the Rock & Roll Half :( - vernswifevickie
348.6 #416 8:59AM
I do that too; hope it worked out for you today, and I hope your toe is healing well. - Duchess73 294.0 #644 8:26PM
I did not achieve my goal today... I knew I was going to pick up Nothing Bundt Cake buntini's for a meeting tomorrow, and they always have samples out. My goal was to get in and out without taking a sample (it is a no-no what with the no grain thing)... I thought I would make it until the sweet gal behind the counter offered me a sample while I was waiting for my order and before I even thought about it, the sample was in my belly. I'll do better tomorrow. Hope you achieved yours today Mrs.mouse! - Duchess73

I say no to a lot of things. Samples and food from the food pushers at work. I assume that unless I know who/ when the food/sample was put out - it is likely "suspect" meaning it might have germs on it from others touching it. It's extreme but if I convince myself it might be contaminated it's easier to say no. I also think about how much more I can get on my plate with a different choice. I need to get my weight down due to age and trying to lower my blood pressure so it is easier to say no out of health fears. Remind yourself that eating clean ( within your diet ) will get you to goal faster. I like the quote by Kim Benson - what you eat in private is what you wear in public. - Plumiegirl

Hello Chub33! I'm thinking about starting a weekly meet up to walk the circuit. Would anyone be interested? Mama needs to lose some baby weight!
I would love to walk with you but you'd be done by the time I can get there (I need to lose the baby weight also...and my baby just turned 32!). - msdizmaui

So my goal for today is to not give in to my emotions. Long story short, my insurance had some kind if glitch and I can't pick up my Zoloft. I'm out of pills and coming off of them is very dangerous. The pharmacy is trying to get me an emergency supply until its sorted out. I've been out for a few days.
Tell us about your goals for today!
Sorry to hear it, hope things get straightened out quickly! I missed my morning walk, so my goal for today is to make time to get one in before bed. - Duchess73

I was thinking about starting a daily goal challenge. The idea is that you can share your daily goal and the results of the goal. Maybe it'll get me thinking and motivated.

I thought a lot about my goal for today. My goal is to have a fruit and/or vegetable with every meal or snack. What's your goal?
I tried to get on here earlier, but I allowed my day to overtake me. My goal was to not work through my break today like I did the rest of the week and get outside and walk. It was an hour later than I planned, but I did go out and take my walk. I hope you achieved your goal today Mrs.mouse! - Duchess73

Came home from work and made my favorite (low-cal) cole slaw recipe and thought that I'd share. I'm not sure where I got the recipe - South Beach, Atkins, who knows...but it's easy, low-cal/low-fat and delicious! Hope y'all like it (sorry...don't know the points)! 1 med head cabbage (1-1/2lbs) shredded or thinkly sliced; 3/4 c. low fat mayo; 1/2 c. low-fat sour cream; 2T. cider vinegar; 2 pks. More...
Sounds good! Thank you!! - vernswifevickie

I had to go to Oahu yesterday for a meeting and I'm proud to report that I still stayed pretty much on track (although didn't do Jenny all day). Ate Jenny breakfast bar on the plane, then was fortunate to go with the person that was supposed to order the lunches so I got to get a salad for myself. The hardest part was the after "drinks and pu-pus" - just had one glass of wine and only a few bites of food....not too bad. - msdizmaui

A couple of you asked how the Cooking Light recipes were going. So far so good :) The first was a ground sirloin with cabbage seasoned with turmeric and ground red pepper, very good and super simple. I also did a apple cinnamon stuffed french toast, also very tasty. Tonight I'm going to try the loaded baked potato soup.

Hi everyone!! Happy Monday!!! I ate my way through the weekend and find myself 7 points in the negative and needing to regroup and get back on track today. Who is with me??
I'm right there with you. This weekend I ate 2 pieces of pizza, a pound of clams, sliders, ice cream, 2 hamburgers, and French fries. OMG. For some reason I have a ravenous hunger. I never eat like that. - PirateQueenBriezy
