Super rough day. I'm so mad at myself for gaining back the weight. I've never felt so fat in my life. I know I'm not in a lot of people's eyes, but the extra 20 lbs really shows to me. Bad day 😩

((Hugs)) I'm sorry, MDM. Don't be too hard on yourself.  You're gonna be fine, and you're gonna look and feel fantastic!  I hope you had a much better day today! 😘 - Spoonful_O_Sugar  706.0 #324 8:09PM

@@ Hang in there!!! I've been working out 3 times a week and eat right and I've gained weight. I've actually gained 10lbs since I've started and I don't care how many people tell me it's "muscle" it's not!! It just makes it so much harder to walk around the parks all day and get on some rides, but I'm not giving up, I am trying to use it to push me harder.😐@msdizmaui - varela2892  103.5 #3715 10:00AM

Happy New Year everyone! I'm back on the low carb "lifestyle" (my son says that I shouldn't call it a "diet"). I finally got up the nerve to weigh, and just like I thought, I gained 15 lbs since I lost my job (20 total). No more See's candy and pizza! I'm actually feeling so much better! Hello ladies and any one else out there, having a support system out there really helps. I'm up for supporting anyone out there!! One step at a time!

Yup. Always better when you have someone (even a cyber someone) to talk you through the hard time and clap loudly when you do awesome!  I'm trying to psych myself up into getting back on plan VERY soon. I've been slowly working on working out. We were just at the parks for a day(and night) and i know exactly what i need to work on! I need to lose 30lbs before my gyno will do my ablation . So this is my first post of many about my journey. I'm not sure if this is the right setting but this is such a wonderful app that i feel comfortable starting here.

Hi there! @@varela2892 so nice to see someone post in here!  You will do great: I'm no expert but I've found it helps to take things in stages: ex: just focus on getting enough water each day for a few days, then add in additional fruits/veggies, then work on adding small bits of exercise, etc.  I need to get going on losing a bit, too, but I'm just trying not to gain right now, and I'll kick it into high gear once Christmas is over, lol.  Hopefully @msdizmaui will see this and chime in, too 😊 It's been awhile since we've had any chub33 activity!  - Spoonful_O_Sugar  706.0 #324 3:56PM
@@varela2892 and @Spoonful_O_Sugar I would love to join in. I've gained at least 15 lbs since I've been out of work. No hidden blame...it's been all me enjoying eating (together with a small "pity party" attitude about being out of work and figuring who's going to see me anyway). Now that I'm headed back to work it's time to get my act together. I won't say that I'll be giving it 100% since it's the holidays, but definitely after Christmas I'm going all in!  My son has lost over 40 lbs following ME in a low carb diet. Tracks your steps,  floors climbed, sleep, calories and calories burned automatically. The app allows you to also track food, exercise, and weight. i was doing so good on eating healthy and getting my 10,000 steps in but the last month i've done nothing. I am very down in the dumps. I took a walk today and felt better but could only walk half of what i had been. starting today i have to get off my butt and keep walking. We've got 60 days till or next visit and i refuse to not be ready for it!!!!

Sometimes it soooo hard, isn't it?  Work, and life, and, ugh...I think we all can relate.  Some days it's a huge victory for me just to walk around the block!  Remember: it's all about taking it one step at a time.  Even something as huge as a marathon is run when a person simply just continues to put one foot in front of the other--you got this! βœ¨πŸ‘πŸΌβœ¨ - Spoonful_O_Sugar  706.0 #324 5:30PM

#WeighInWednesday. Down another pound. At least I'm slowly losing what I gained. I'll take it! Started working with weights this week.

Great job with the scale!  And weight training is so important to our bone health. Weights and resistance training are the only way to maintain or increase bone density. Especially important to women to help prevent osteoperosis (sp?) and fractures. Keep up the good work! - Ilovegoofy  239.2 #1608 8:40AM

Help! I'm having issues with one of my sons and its making me sad and all I want to do is eat. I'm so mad at myself. I worked so hard to lose the weight (and vacation is in August). Why do I let emotions control me (and why do cookies make it all better). Sorry...needed to vent.

It's so easy to stuff our faces when we're sad, mad, frustrated. I do the same thing. Try praying, exercising, or talking to a friend. It helps me. Also, tell yourself you have to drink 8 oz of water before you can snack. You may become so waterlogged, you eat less. Hang in there. They do grow up. Really! - disneyforme  867.4 #255 9:40AM
When?  He's in his 30's!  He had a baby in March but apparently only his wife's mother is good enough to be with it (she from Thailand and doesn't speak English). I've held my grandson  3 x's since he was born!  I'm trying the water trick!  Thank you ! - msdizmaui  1024.0 #219 6:19PM

Hi MDM!  Sorry to hear you're feeling blue.  That must be a tough situation--no wonder you are wanting to eat.  The water trick sounds good to me. Love my Fitbit flex. It does make you more reliant on the app to get info but it does the job.  - TiggersAndTinks  202.8 #2090 8:26PM
It is both a app on your phone or you can use your computer. The only thing about it I don't like is having to charge it about every other day. I know someone who has a Garmin and the charge lasts for a year, it runs off of watch batteries.  @@@@@@mmddgp - varela2892  103.5 #3715 8:51AM
I have Fitbit Charge and I charge it every five days or so. Charges completely in one hour. I usually take it off and charge it in the morning before getting into the shower. I also charge at night if I'm soaking my muscles in the tub.  Either way I'm not missing logging any steps.  - Ilovegoofy  239.2 #1608 8:49AM
Have you ever heard of the book French Women Don't Get Fat?  It came out about 10 years ago.  I bought it on a whim, and read through it, I still pick it up from time to time. What she had to say about food and activity really made a lot of sense to me.  It actually helped me change the way I look at food and health.  We live in a society that sends such mixed and strange messages about food, nutrition, and our health.  On one hand, there's so much excess, on the other there's so much dieting and restriction...it's no wonder we struggle to maneuver through all that!  I recommend having a look. πŸ’– good luck with your new journey! 😘🌺✨ - Spoonful_O_Sugar  706.0 #324 8:46AM
Also, have you ever thought of doing a RunDisney race?  They are so fun, and encouraging, and you don't have to run--many people walk!  Fun family activities ☺️ 5k is 3 miles and pretty doable for people who are in basic good health and train.  They've been great motivators for me and my husband over the last few years.  Much less pressure during the race than I expected, too - Spoonful_O_Sugar  706.0 #324 3:22PM
Thanks for the info on the book, I will look into it. I have done a couple area 5k and really don'tMind them at all. For me it is just getting in the habit of doing something, anything consistently. I do like the strategy of WW everything with in reason is allowed and also get in exercise which is a good balance.   - mmddgp  1680.1 #2 7:38AM
I always wondered if you have to run or can just walk. Thanks for the info and encouragement for everyone! - Ilovegoofy  239.2 #1608 8:50AM
If any one is interested, RunDisney is now doing "virtual" 5K races this summer, too.  That could be a fun motivator and something to do with family/friends!  You get a medal and everything.   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  706.0 #324 6:33AM

I know that there's soft serve in DCA at the Cozy Cones and on the pier.  However, I can't think of anywhere in DL that serves soft serve.  That's a good question!   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  706.0 #324 11:43AM

Ugh. I let my kids buy refrigerator cookie dough this weekend. I just ate two spoonfuls after returning home from the gym. No self control. Not one bit.

I think You have a ton of self control.  Two spoonfuls is nothin! πŸ˜‚   - Spoonful_O_Sugar  706.0 #324 11:09PM
Ha!  I guess I can look at it that way... Could have been much worse I guess. And it could have been Tuesday night which wouldn't give me time to burn it off before Wednesday weigh-in.  - Ilovegoofy  239.2 #1608 9:42AM

#WeighInWednesday. I don't even want to do this this week. I gained 4 pounds. Been walking 10,000 steps per day and drinking water. Must be the eating. How'd you do?

Been working hard and lost 2.9! Used to lose so much more when I worked half this hard but as I get older... - boomom  826.0 #265 9:29PM
Don't be discouraged keep trying! You can do it! - boomom  826.0 #265 9:29PM
Great job @boomom. Boy, do I understand how hard it is to lose as we age. Wish I done this years ago.  - disneyforme  867.4 #255 10:31PM
