So I think we got a baby alligator instead of a puppy. He loves nipping anything in sight...especially toes! Ouch! Do any of you doggie parents have any tips to stop this? Thanks in advance :)

That English dominatrix lady on animal planet says this is because they didn't get enough feedback from their littermates so she yelps really loud when dogs are mouthy - Maybe it works? - Robynlaurel

If you folks can swing it, a good thing is to get another buddy for her. That way they have each other. Does that make any sense? And RobynLorealParis...I never thought of her that way....and now I do. Hahahaha. - Butterlina

I thought my Newfoundland would never out grow doing that. We would grab the top of his snout and push his upper lip into his k9 tooth. It took a while but it worked. - tinkfan

I agree with the being vocal and yip at her when it hurts. It should work also, I know it sounds mean but bite her back. Show her it hurts and she should stop. It worked on my doggie. - Arielkitten13

There's that alpha dog thing you could try. When she does it or better yet when she is about to do it, press your finger oin her forehead between the eyes.....There you can be your own Dom. - Butterlina

Should I wear leather and use a whip? Haha! Thanks guys. And Butter, I'd love to get her tons more buddies but we rent so we are maxed out now with 2 cats and a dog - MrsJackSparrow

We sternly said "No bite!" and held my dog's snout while we said it, she figured it out pretty quick - TinkPen

Haha I can't believe I'm the only one who thinks that when I see her Anyway I've had dogs my whole life and the one thing I know for sure is that they need a boss in order to feel safe and happy, but you can be that without hurting them physically - Robynlaurel
