Can't find the reason why Disneyland is not so fun anymore with prices going up. It made me realize how much money I actually spend everytime I go to visit.
Thays why bring your own snacks/water/juice n such, eat outside of the parks and it will save you a ton! - Ms.Mouseketeer

I do... But just saying in general because I remember the days when churros were $2.00. Popcorn was $5. Mickey ears were $7 with free embroidery. Parking was $10. Just isn't as enjoyable like thw good ol days. Remember there were free refills on popcorn too - Kingdomhearts209

Very very true. But gas was once a buck a gallon, houses were cheaper, minimum wage was less and unemployment was lower, oh the joys of life - Ms.Mouseketeer

Yep it only took 5 or 10 bucks to get around - Kingdomhearts209

Dave isn't kidding $8.75 for a burger $4.75 if you want to add fries oh and your thirsty ok that soda will be $4.75. Knotts food isn't very good and for 4 of us to sit down and eat the bill was just under $80!!! I'll pay DL prices any day verses any other amusement park! - MedievalMickey

Oh trust me Dave I have. I am just saying.. Before it wasn't about money, it was about fun and family. Now almost anything that can become comodity is sold at the parks. Those skull chomping things, bubble guns, churros are $3.50 which is the same price for a gallon of gas. We wouldn't dare spend $16 on steak, but willing to drop $9 for a turkey leg. Popcorn is nearly the same price as the turkey leg for the souvenir bucket. - Kingdomhearts209

Just thought I'd mention the free coffee refills and soft drink refills at certain locations. Keep your receipts! - Wizard

just check the lounge...so many people give ways to save money at the parks..I mean some buy the glow stuff and bubble guns at home online first and save a ton and they are just as good...Oh and the food at Knotts is more expensive and why I say charge more...Kids smoking in line, lack of security, bad customer service, run down rides and lack of safety...and the main part is people that go..When I was a kid going to Knotts and Magic Mountain did not have pat downs and a metal detector...Its a realy too bad that it got this bad - Dave

My boys went the other night to DL.. They brought a backpack full of snacks and packs of hot chocolate. If you ask for a cup of just hot water its free.. Then mix your own hot chocolate from the packets you bring in. Works the same for ice water.. Then mix in your own kool aid individual packets ( or ice tea/lemonade individual packets) Now you've just saved money on drinks - CMsMom

I come up form SD and that about 60 in gas,i bring 40 each for food. We will walk over to Garden walk and the whole family can have Jonny Rockets for less then 40. we eat in the parks and make sure we use every discount. I spend about 500 when i stay overnight but i get 2 rooms cause i usally have 5 teens with us.
I think it worth every penny we spend.

I live locally and try not to spend any $ in the parks. My hubby has been in and out of jobs all year and it's a treat to afford gas to get to DL. My 3 yr old knows the drill on not asking for anything. We take our own snacks and water. Eat before we go and leave before lunch or take sandwiches. It's all about spending time with her and creating memories. Went to Knotts on Friday and agree with Dave. I remember when I liked going there as a kid. But it's so dirty and the employees are so rude. Glad I can now afford to renew my DL AP. - DznyHeart

I used to love Knotts. Many wonderful memories there... But, since the Knott family sold it, it's gone downhill in a real hurry. - CMsMom
