I'm having a hard time dealing with the fact that people are re-selling the ghost Mickey popcorn buckets for profit on ebay..... discuss
I don't care for the idea either! - Calypso

I don't see the point, how much are you really gonna make? $20? Leave them in the parks for the people who really want them! - KelBelle
452.8 #272 9:05PM
Agreed! I can't believe someone would spend $30 on a plastic bucket either. - CravingDisney

It's for people who live in another state and can't come over to buy them. - DisneyAPpass

I think its such a bummer. I guess not everyone appreciates the magic like we do! They're probably only making 10 bucks plus whatever else they can scrape together out of the shipping fees... - michelledork

That's the American way. Make a profit on anything. - gratefull
32.1 #4279 9:11PM
Awe that's nice of you but we have plenty of MWs outta state I'm sure would love this!!!! Tell em to paypal you if u want to get your money back... Just a suggestion! eBay takes so long for an auction to end - rachyboo

I've been thinking the same thing. I want to be able to walk in the park and buy one for my son so we can enjoy the popcorn together (and I can tell him about how "mama used to make popcorn for Mickey Mouse"). When they sell out because people are buying "31" one of them, it makes me sad. Saying that, DL needs to do better with their supplies, like have a focus group on MW determine if something is going to be "hot or not." "Up" grape soda pins? Hot. Duffy the cute but generic bear? Not. - Polkadobo
372.1 #372 9:13PM
I'm not just selling to anyone. I'm selling to someone who really wants it out-of-state; I'm also giving one away on Sunday for MW anniversary. How is that not good? - DisneyAPpass
38.8 #4035 9:15PM
I think putting them up for out of state people is great... but not for $12 more than what it cost in the park plus shipping. Selling for $9.95 + shipping is what should be happening, but its not. - michelledork
658.3 #159 9:20PM
Disney AP.. I'm more talking about the people who go in and buy a ton strictly to make a profit. - Calypso

After eBay gets their fee, you're not going to make squat. - John

It's been happening since the first day they were sold, which was Sept. 17 - BaseballMickey_CM
2863.1 #16 9:22PM
If I had one, id keep it. If people wanna sell it to make a profit, I really dont mind. But if someones gonna go and buy like, alot, just for selling, then its kinda disappointing. Because there couldda been like, 5 more people who could buy buckets because they love them, not because they want to sell them. - DisneyBaby
7.9 #7649 9:23PM
DisneyAp if you can sell one to someone out of state and it pays for you to give one away in the MW community I say go for it. - YTheRum
2072.7 #33 9:24PM
I agree with Rum! - PrettyPixie
759.2 #132 9:26PM
I just think it sucks when people sell them for 3x the price at DL! - KelBelle
452.8 #272 9:31PM
Easy money. I have a annual pass, live 3 miles away, and go 3 times a week. I have shipping supplies at work. I can pay for my annual pass. - Leatherneck

i think it sucks because we go for the fun and magic a my two girls want one but there sold out mean while someones making 3x off of it not cool boo - i-airbrush-Disney
40.9 #3976 9:58PM
Thanks guy that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm kinda broke but I really wanted to help people out w/ the buckets. I only want a MW to win the bid so I can give one away for free. ^_ - DisneyAPpass
38.8 #4035 10:07PM
I don't see a problem with selling a few to make up for money spent at the park or to pay for the bucket you bought just don't believe in buying more than 5 for resale you gotta remember Disney does the same thing to us with food and drinks $4 for a little simply orange juice is outrageous - Vinnymation

I'm glad someone brought this up because I don't plan on bidding on eBay. I think it's all well and good to make a profit on stuff, but people on here have been pining away with all the pictures. I feel stuck back in the tickle me Elmo rush when some woman told me I could have one for $100 and she had just paid $20. There have been so many examples of Disney magic on here (thank you again Marieezy) that this bucket selling thing kind of bothers me. - Missshelly

lmao missshelly or the furbees - Kittymeowmeow
271.3 #816 10:17PM
You can't control who wins your bid so you have no sayso on whether it is a MW'r or not. And if it is really about the MW'rs who are out of town then post them here and not ebay. There are so many here that want them I am sure no one expects them for free and would be more than happy to pay a reasonable price (for the person's time) and shipping to have one. Putting it on ebay is not about MW in anyway. It is about making a profit. - SupremeLeader

690.3 #147 10:22PM
Oh dear. I think perhaps some people like the buyer/seller protection offered by going through eBay. Granted, we may feel like we know each other, but based on recent events, how well do we truly know who is on the other end? Personally, I already bought one for myself when they came out. I offered to buy some for mw'ers about a month ago, for cost plus shipping. Some people replied and I bought those buckets for them, and no, I'm not making them bid on eBay for them. Didn't mean to upset anyone with pictures of buckets. :( - bluefairy

bluefairy, will you be going back again? - DisneylandFan2
427.2 #297 10:42PM
It is possible. I may go on Sunday. If not, maybe sometime next week. - bluefairy

I was wondering, if possible, could you pick me up a bucket please? They were out when I was just there and I wont be going back until November. - DisneylandFan2
427.2 #297 10:57PM
Let's take this off mw, my email is theblueforest[@]hotmail[dot]com. Basically, if I have any extra or can get more, I will make them available to mw'ers. - bluefairy
627.4 #174 11:15PM
This is how a free market works..Its supply and demand...Disney buys them for .25 each, they sell them to us for 10.00, 9.75 profit..AP buyer, 10.00, Somebody in BFE who loves Disney sees it, cant get to disneyland has too have it, starting bid 12.00 final bidding price maybe around 35.00 plus shipping....This is the USA not the USSR...I think its pretty cool that so many MWERS are buying them and giving them to others who cant get to the parks but the market for Disney stuff is crazy esp on ebay..Im sure you could go on there and the free maps they gave out for the 55th will be pulling in money..It is what it is...Maybe Disneyland should put it limit on them like they do other limted editon items for this reason - Dave

Dave I totally understand. I had to buy the 55 map because I wasn't anywhere the park that day. It sucked but at least I was able to get one. - DisneyAPpass

I know!! I want one but everytime I've gone they have been sold out! - Briana

This is like the Jessica pins on disneystore.com. The LE 250 Jessica costume pins sold out within hrs of being released in the middle of the night last week. People bought them for $15 and they are on ebay for $40, $45, even $60!!! It's one thing to buy a pin you don't want for a good trader, quite another to get one to be greedy and make a large profit. Heck, there's one that's not even sold out on Disney's website yet that is going for $20 when they can get it from Disney for $15. To me that's just not right or Disney-like - TickledTink

People thought this way when I was in the dream fastpass business. In this economy, it's necessary to seize the opportunity. - BCC

Dave hit the nail on the head! We all love Disney and have this grand vision of what Walt wanted his park/ company to be, but bottom line is the Disney co. Is about PROFIT. free market capitalism is what America is all about. I would gladly pay a industrious MWer a fair price for one of these buckets for my wife, she wants one so badly. (rant off) - connielu

I have some going on eBay right now - BCC

I'd be happy to pick some up for other MWers for the cost plus shipping if I end up at the parks tomorrow. I'll post and let people know. - LilSterner
2656.0 #18 9:13PM
Let me know! I've looked on eBay and they are all going for $30. - Missshelly
690.3 #147 9:30PM
That is so nice of you Lilsterner. I can't make it tomorrow and all I could do was cry. So frustrated. Not sure I will be able to make it up before they are all sold out again. I will watch for your posts just in case. The last one I looked at on ebay a few minutes ago was $26 plus $25 for shipping. :( - SupremeLeader

$25 for shipping??? I've sent messages to everyone I promised, so we will see if there are any left for others. - bluefairy

Yea bluefairy. My husband said just buy one because I was so upset about not being able to make it up there. But, I just couldn't. I saw more the other day but could only find 1 tonight. Also, not everyone has text so they may not be able to get your message. - SupremeLeader
