I think it's weird that we have different Thanksgivings but Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to the other Canuck MW'ers. Hope some of you are in the park!

Turkey, mashed potatoes, carrots, yams, pickles, some kind of bread, and apple or pumpkin pie in my family. Can't forget the gravy!! - CaliCanuck

All Of the above plus Perogies. I find it so weird that I can only find tiny packages of them in US grocery stores but Costco here had big, honking boxes. - Missshelly

Missshelly I totally miss perogies!! I keep trying to convince my mom to bring some in her suitcase when she visits. Unfortunately we think they'd thaw too quick
I think we have Thanksgiving in October because we don't celebrate Columbus day (our Thanksgiving is tomorrow actually). Plus we don't have a holiday in November when US Thanksgiving is. At least that's my take on it. My family always made a point of recognizing what we are thankful for. - CaliCanuck

I think you are right, they would thaw out! I had to google what our thanksgiving means as it doesn't have the historical significance that the US has. It's a day of giving thanks for the years bounty. We always do turkey.
