Forgive my ignorance, I am not a morning person and do not get up early under no circumstances. So I do not go to DL at opening. But what is rope drop? When DL says they open at 8am does that mean only mainstreet opens and you cannot get past the end of ms until 9am when the whole park opens? Unless it is a magic morning? Does DCA do this? And is it really a rope? Thanks! - SupremeLeader

Yes, there really is a rope. On the days that they do this main gates are open before the published time and people line up at the rope. At opening there is a message that is played welcoming guests to the park. DCA does this too. I have also been there on days when everyone is just lined up at the main gates. - Coaster

They wrapped the rope (not just drop it, pretty obvious hazard if they did!), and we all stood respectfully in our place until they waved us in :) ' - Bunnie

I being there for the rope drop, i wasn't expecting it the first time we were there for it and actually got choked up when it "dropped" and the music started "it's the time if your life" I was so happy! - happilyEVERafter

I've only made it into the park early enough for rope drop once and I got teary-eyed when the music played too!
I'm going for the first time in almost two years in December! So excited! - dLittleMermaid

I have video of my friends and our kids in line outside the gates for a Magic Morning. It's not pretty. I don't think I will ever see a rope drop. - BlueberryCrusader
