It's time for Spooky Tales with Jayjay!!! I know we have a whole new fleet of Newbies so here's ur opportunity to impress us. And you regulars who always got a good spook to contribute, show these newbies how we do it. Tell us a ghost story you know, heard or personally experienced. Creepy creeps and cold running chills are what we wanna read about!!! With all the halloween theming in here this should be a great thread. Let's get our scare share on peeps!!!!
When my nephew was about 3 or 4 we used to catch him in full conversation with absolutely. He was so focused on something it looked like he was making eye contact with someone. He started doing that while me and my sister and brother were in the room and asked him who he was talkin to. He said "it's my friend Razzum" We had him describe him and he was wearing red shoes, a blue ripped shirt and black pants. Oh and he said Razzum had HORNS!!! We freaked out and ran outta the room. The house down the street from us is supposed to be haunted. My in-laws built it and used to live there, and lots of weird things used to happen there, like we'd see weird shadows or lights or energies or things like that. But after they moved out, a new family moved in and started remodeling it and that's when the craziness began. That family knew nothing about what we knew (my mother-in-law swore it was built on an Indian burial ground). I have too many stories to tell so I'll just tell one per post. One day, they came home and found THOUSANDS of killer bees, dead in the shape of a perfect question mark right in the middle of the living room floor. The scooped up 5 garbage bags of bees! They called a bee-removal service, who ended up finding a nest of African killer bees on the roof that was burrowing its way inside. The family figured the ghosts were friendly and gave them that warning with the question mark. (There were many other incidents leading up to this.) If I make this any longer, you guys won't read it, so I'll stop here. - Melody

I don't know if you guys remember about me telling you how my one-year-old got out of her room. We put her to the test several times and she just can't repeat it. But moving on, we've noticed something else. Her room has been getting colder and colder. The other day it was 59 degrees, while the rest of the house was near 80 (we don't have an AC, just a swamp cooler in the living room). It's just been kinda freaking me out. - Marieeezy

OK, one night, the man was in bed and felt what he thought was his wife's arm around him from behind, so he squeezed her hand and she squeezed it back. Then he remembered, his wife was out of town. He sat up but said he felt oddly relaxed, like she was someone comforting him. After that, even when the wife was back, they both would feel someone sitting on the edge of their bed. My husband's grandmothers both have passed away since, and that was the only house they'd known out here, so we wondered if maybe they came to "visit" and didn't realize my in-laws had moved. Whoever it was did NOT like all the new construction. - Melody

NOt really spooky...But here goes. An old friend of mine moved into a house on The Strand. A teeny little house with tons of charm and character, but she said something felt a little off. She is one that cam communicate with other worlds so to say, but her Mom is the uber communicator. Anyhowz, Her little some ( i think he was about 5 or six at the time) would talk about playing with the kid in his room. Yet he is an only child. So his mom kinda snooped around and realized that there was someone there, but couldn't really get the other little boy to "show up" as it were. Next episode....research the house and Granny comes to pay a visit - Butterlina

When I was 18, my best friend Casey and I were living in a studio type "bungalow". There 4 of these little bungalows built around a small courtyard, all constructed around the 1940's. Well, Casey had this habit of always leaving one light on at night. He would never tell me why.. All he would tell me was NEVER, under any circumstances, should I turn off all the lights. Always leave at least one on. I am the type of person that needs complete darkness to sleep. So, one night, after Casey fell asleep, I turned off the last light. About 2 hours later, I got the overwhelming feeling of someone looking at me. I was terrified to open my eyes, but slowly I did. There, in the hallway, about 20 feet from me was a solid, dark, figure. I knew it wasn't "human" because there were no legs, no feet. Nothing touching the floor. I quickly closed my eyes and prayed for it to leave. - CMsMom

My daughter woke up with crazy hair in the morning and i thought it was cute so I grabbed my iPhone and took a pic of her. About a month later i was cleaning out my iPhone pics an noticed something weird behind her. It is clearly a face of a man. That is a chair around him but u can clearly see his face if u blow it

....And we're back. Granny comes to visit and she is able to find that the little boy lives in his bedroom. She's not able to communicate with him either. They decide to searc city records and old newspapers to get some history on the home. Eventually they hit paydirt. It seems that around 1930 the family that lived there one day ended up having their son disappear. The strand by the way is a hoity toity part of Manhattan beach. Foo Foo La La Pardon me for even looking at you style. Whatever. It seems that one summer day the little boy went out to swim by himself and unfortunately never came back. They did learn his name and decided to try and help him. They were able to gather some items from that time, and put them just outside of the closet in the bedroom that he seemed to favor. Granny tried to talk to him a bit, and eventually a teeny shaodwy thang seemed to come towards them. They spoke with him for about an hour, and said that it was ok to hang out if he wanted to, or if he wanted to go see his Momma and Poppa they would help him. And we'll continue after the break. - Butterlina

as I continue to type to myself Hahaha. Any ways, the little boy hung out for about a year. Eventually he asked if they still would help him see his Momma and Poppa as they had promised earlier. They told him that of course they would. and as soon as they said that to him,, he was gone. Never spooked me...it always kinda made me smile when they'd tell me.
So my Friends son is now about 25, and the other day he asked me if I remembered what his granny did. Of course I did, and he said that he thinks of his little pal often, and hopes that he's helping Granny. She had passed away that morning and I didn't know. SDo not spooky, kinda heartwarming to me. - Butterlina

My grandparents told me a story about how one time they went to Vegas and stayed down town. They decided to go and walk to some of the different casinos. As they walked out sound they said they couldn't hear anything. People were walking by talking, cars were driving by(this was before they closed the street in and put the show in) and they could hear nothing! But strangly they could hear each other. They said it was like there was a bubble over them. They decided to go back inside of there hotel for a few minutes and then go back out. When they did go back out they could hear noises again! My g-ma said she had never felt so scared in her life. They never figured out why this happened! - MelB

Yea, totally freaked us out when I finally saw it. The weird thing is that my son who is older than my daughter had been telling us since he was like 2 1/2 (now almost 5) he would say, "mommy, there a scary man at window" and would make us close the window and the blinds. Our nephew who was 3 at the time he came over was playing with my sons toys and all off a sudden runs to his mom bc he said there was a scary man standing at our stairs. So many other scary things have happened here too...I have blessed my house with holy water like crazy! - SusielovesDisney

So what I'm about to tell you only my immediate family knows and my hubby which he hates it when we talk about it. He leaves the room, he doesn't do scary!! Here goes, I was in the second grade and lived up in Placerville in the hills at the time. My mom came to pick me up from my friends house. She had gotten there just before dusk and when she arrived she asked my friends Dad if he could check under her car because she had ran over something and the car didn't seem quite right. My family is convinced that we have a ghost in the master bedroom closet. One night, all our power went out. We all stayed downstairs in the family room, with camping lanterns and flashlights, playing board games. We all could clearly hear someone walking back and forth, pacing, directly above us. It was so loud that my husband thought someone had broken in our house. He went upstairs to check it out... No one was up there. Our closet light goes on and off by itself. One time, without telling any of us, my husband unscrewed the light bulb and left the house. When he came home, the light was on. - CMsMom

Now it's almost dark and we leave. Once we leave and head down about a 1/4 mile the car starts making this weird noise and we start smelling this horrible smell that's like no other. I've never smelled that before nor have I ever again. All of a sudden my mom's brakes give out, now mind you we are up in the hills and there are sharp turns like on the drive to Lake Tahoe when you get up high. We are driving up on the hill and swirving all over the place. I'm bouncing all around in the car. One second I'm on the dash of the car next second I'm in the back seat being thrown all over the place. My mom starts praying and I know now something demonic has taken over the car. And that smell, that horrible horrible smell it just wouldn't go away. My mom continues to pray and finally the car suddenly stops. I have two younger brothers, one who is thirteen and one who is six. I also have a 10 year old cousin who lived in our house for a few weeks. Well, all three kids at one point would talk to "something" while they played. This happened around the time they were 3 or 4, when we asked them who they were talking to they always said "zapas". This happen with all three kids. My family always thought it was strange. - littlebugy

We get out and start to walk a bit and see a dim light in the back ground. We walk toward the light and finally come upon someone's porch and knock on the door. A gentlemen comes to the door and is amazed by our presence. We ask if we can use his phone. He says sure but how'd you get here. We said we followed the light. He then told us mam there's cliff drops on all sides of you and only a small walk way up to our house. He couldn't believe we didn't fall down the side of the cliff. He then said every night he turns off the porch light and something kept telling him to turn it on so finally he got back out of bed and turned it on. He said he's never done it in all the 22 years he had lived there. The next day my mom had the car looked at and it looked as if there were scratches and tears and mangled up pieces that no animal could've done the mechanic said. He asked if a person was messing with our car. My mom was conviced right then and there it was some kind of demon. While the sun was still out my mom went to check out the spot where the car finally stopped and was amazed we were still alive. The cliff drop was fierce and the road an extremely small walk way to the man's house was barely anything. So that's it that's my scary story. I don't watch scary movies so why am I reading this??? I accidentally saw the preview for that new Exorcist movie and had to wake my husband because I was scared. I work at a hospice in a 1873 victorian in San Francisco as a volunteer. Even when we were under construction the lights would flicker and doors would shut on their own. I and a scot budhist friend both have seen and felt ghosts there! - BirthdayGoof

Don't really have much of a story so I'll just tell you some haunted areas of good 'ol Paso Robles :]. There's a house in our oldest neighborhood in town. A lot of the houses here are old almost 200 yr old Victorian homes and this is one of them. Back in the early 1800s the original owners of the house were "witch hunters" and would invite women who they secretly thought practiced witchcraft to their home and stone them to death. Since then people ALWAYS hear screaming coming from the house even though it's boarded up and abandoned now. There's also a stone wall surrounding the home at the bottom of a little hill that's supposedly made with the stones that were used to kill the various women. - michelIe

The house supposedly drove some of the previous owners crazy. One of them killed themselves and another one was murdered there. My brother went in there once and said blood from the stabbed victim was still there. My bfs mom used to live down the street from it in highschool and said she'd hear women screaming at random hours of the night. - michelIe

Paso also has the Adelaida cemetary and it's actually just A few streets down from the haunted house. I've had friends who have went there before at the middle of the night, park their car at the bottom of the hill, and once they're at the top of the hill the car would honk and there would be no one there. Peoples car batteries and cell phones die there, and I've heard of people almost always losing their car keys there. - michelIe

During the summer of 2008 my dad and I flew to New York to help my sister move back home. Originally it was going to be my sister and I driving cross but my dad disnt think it was a good idea so he decided to tag along. One night before we left Long Island my sister and I went out to dinner, on our way home my sister got off the freeway because she was almost out of gas. My sister had no idea that the exit where she got off was the exit for an old abandoned psychatric hospital. The road was soo dark and lonely. I got really scared and told my sister that we should just get back on the freeway and take our chances. When my sister turned the car around we noticed that it looked like someone was walking towards the car, but it looked like they were limping. My sister speed off and we got back on the freeway. - littlebugy

I have had many people pass on me in my life so far. Well, my daughter had this male friend throughout school. Once they graduated they got together. I really loved him like a son! We had a blast together. It didn't work out for them and so he and I would talk here and there. He would call me and say hi. Yet, whatever happened between him and my daughter she really didn't want much to do with him but was perfectly ok with us keeping in touch here and there. Anyways, he called me in December and we talked about things. The day after Christmas his parents came to my door and he had died Christmas eve from undiagnosed diabetes. Needless to say we were devastated, he was 22 years old. Some time had passed when I would hear him talk to me. He said things like, "now I understand why she couldn't be with me" and "I'm really ok and it wasn't that bad." Well I thought I was trippin out and it was my imagination. Then I went to this store and it was a psychic type store and they were giving readings so I tried one. The first thing she said to me was....you can hear them can't you? They talk to you and you can here them. Listen to them they are telling you something. WHAT!! Some time later, maybe a year later I got a reading from someone else and the first thing she said to me is...oh your are audio. What? You hear them....those that have passed talk to you and you hear them. REALLY??? OMG!! Did he really talk to me? And has some others?? - SupremeLeader

Since I'm hijacking the thread I'll give my one and only possible encounter with the supernatural. I've only told this to one or two people because I question it myself. I was 15ish, sitting on my bedroom floor looking at a book. All of the sudden I could see my grandfather standing off to my side. I could feel the hair on my arms standing up, and almost an electricity in the air. I somehow knew that if I was to turn my head he would disappear, so I kept looking at him for several seconds in my peripheral vision. When I finally turned my head he just vanished. My Grandpa was one of the absolute most cool people in all of my life, and had just passed a couple months before. Mind playing tricks? Imagination? It sure felt real is all I can say. - Tom

A few years ago my family and I went to Utah to my sister-in-laws wedding. The have a home in a Scofield that was a coal mining camp back in the 1800's. In 1900 The mine in this area had a horrific explosion and collapse killing several hundred miners. We were staying in a bed and breakfast down the hill from the cemetary where the miners were burried. My wife and daughter had already gone to be and I stayed up reading about the disaster and associated ghost sightings. I finally went to bed and about 2 hrs later I was awaken by someone sitting on the edge of the bed near me! I jumped up and there was no one there, my wife and daughter were sound asleep! I felt the edge of the bed sink as if someone sat down....but no one was there!! - yfdengineer

When I was a young teen I had a recurring dream of a man standing by my bed. He would talk to me for several minutes and then vanish. I had this dream 3-4 times a week for several months. I could never remember what he said to me. The last time I had the dream he said something that made me afraid and I woke up screaming. Never had the dream again. Then several years later my oldest son was around the same age and he told me one morning at the breakfast able that he had been having the same dream for several nights and he described the man I used to dream about exactly down to what he was wearing. My son only had the dream for a few weeks and then it went away. He could never remember what the man told him either. I never told anyone about that dream. - Eraf61
