Blind dates - how do you guys feel about them. I have been single a couple of months and am thinking about letting my friends set me up. Never been on one - good or bad??

Never been on one but it never hurts to meet new people. What do you have to lose? - Suzie-Q  434.3 #288 5:00PM
As long as you go into it with an open mind and open heart, with a willingness to just have some fun for a couple of hours to get to know another soul, then why not? No pressure and just keep it casual, like lunch or coffee. You might be pleasantly surprised. - DesperateMousewife  873.8 #105 5:01PM
Never been would be nice if they have similar interests etc - Dizkid  284.2 #707 5:02PM
I wont do them - Dave  8673.1 #2 5:03PM
Auz and I sorta met on a "blind date". We had never seen each other in person, only in pictures. We met for coffee and ended up hitting it off. Blind dates aren't bad. If it doesnt work, it doesnt work... you dont feel the pressure to force something that isnt there right off the bat. Go into it with an open mind and be cautious. Usually your friends are pretty spot on with who is good for you :) If you're nervous... agree to something less nervewrecking and easy to leave if things arent going well. Coffee or ice cream is great! Quick, easy, and you can talk more than you would over dinner/lunch. - michelledork  658.3 #159 5:07PM
sorry I wrote a novel. Posting from the pc so I don't realize how much I've typed... - michelledork  658.3 #159 5:09PM
I don't wanta be stuck with someone - Dave  8673.1 #2 5:11PM
Maybe someone doesnt want to be stuck with you, Dave! ;) hahah thats why you do coffee. If its not working... 15 minutes in say "I gotta leave in 30 minutes to go to work" - michelledork  658.3 #159 5:12PM
Coffee is an outstanding suggestion. I've done long blind dates like a full evening convert in LA, and realized 10 minutes in that I was not going to have fun. Not smart IMO. - Tom  3892.3 #7 5:15PM
Coffee is an awesome idea. Thanks for the tip. It's not a long commitment but if we hit it off we can talk. Thanks guys - LittleLady23  5.7 #9530 7:30PM
I agree a group or coffee is a great idea that way it's either short (coffee) or you have other friends (group) if it sucks. And then you don't feel stuck alone for hours with someone you can't stand - Pixarprincess  531.4 #215 7:36PM
Can't be any worse than meeting online! I can say this because I met my hubby on Match! - Suzie-Q  434.3 #288 7:36PM
Kat is still mad at me for doing the compatibility profile on match. I just wanted to see if her picture would pop up at the end. - HotDiggityDogDaddy  1112.2 #74 7:37PM
I set a couple up on a blind date and now they're married and expecting their 2nd baby! - Calypso  813.0 #114 7:37PM
I also set friends up on a blind date (I was there with my date as well) and they just had their first child, so it can work. I've also been set up on a bad blind date, but it was only an hour. - Pixarprincess  531.4 #215 7:40PM
I've been stood up by blind dates. I think it's because they see me sitting at the coffee shop and they run away. A couple of times I've seen spots of vomit next to the window that I can only assume came from the women who took one look at me. - RadioMaverick  529.8 #217 7:41PM
I wouldn't do it. - CharLovey  179.6 #1872 7:43PM
Lol Maverick! And you do it and it doesn't work, pfht, their loss! - Suzie-Q  434.3 #288 7:44PM
And getting caught in the rain. - Suzie-Q  434.3 #288 7:48PM
Call me simple but here's how I see it. It will happen when the world is ready for you. It will happen when you are comfortable and love yourself, then you'll be able to share the love with another. If you don't go you'll never know and get stuck in a "what if" mode. If you do go and there's no click , then so be it. Lots of times we think with our heads. Tends to fail do we follow our heart and get hurt. Listen to your gut. Belly always knows. You may end up meeting someone that's groovy. You may end ip meeting someone to remind you that you're not ready. Whatever happens, allow it to at least have a chance. And make them Pay. Lol. One of pals says to look for that rather attractive pants bulge....... Their wallet hahaha. And she's plain miserable. Our daughter was telling us about a horrid date she just had and she keeps running into the date all over town. For her I tell her it's a reminder that you do not want to be lime that person. You're better than that and always take the high road. I am writing a dang book on here pardon me. Go if you wanna, or not go. - Butterlina  1308.0 #62 7:53PM
I had a blind date to Prom! It was fun and we are still friends. - Melli_mo  395.5 #339 7:55PM
