There's a BIG difference from Glow Fest to ElecTRONica. More to do and it's Disney putting it on, not an outside contractor. And it's not a rave, it's a family friendly dance club - CMdman

Has anyone replying to the effect that Glow is like a rave, ever actually been to a Rave? Glow is like a club/street party where adults can enjoy a nice cocktail just like anywhere else in DCA btw and families can dance together and be silly. Ive been going to raves for a little over a year now. And honestly it feels like a rave. Loud music, bright lights everywhere the only thing missing are the zombies walking around drugged out of their minds. I see alot of security at glowfest so people shouldn't be worried about drugs coming thru - mrnavarr0

All of the music at Glow Fest my 8 year old so. Loved. We went one a week almost every Friday. Never was it like a rave. It was a street party. I never once had an issue with my son dancing around and learning choreography from the Glow dancers. Whom ever is saying it was not family friendly or nonDisney didn't attend or is uber conservative. Lots of mini MWers got to enjoy themselves along with their parents. That is why Walt created Disneyland, so chidden of al ages, families alike could enjoy eachother. That's sure what I did!! Jay jay I agree with what you said!! I loved Glow Fest, it was one of my favorite parts of Summer Nightastic. Accoring to Coaster Glow actually got better reviews than WOC!! - Disneybird

I was standing next to a mom and dad who brought their baseball team to Disbeyland and the boys were all 15 16 17, the too cool to dance and look like a fool age. She and her husband had tears in their eyes because ALL 12 of the boys were dancing, having fun and she was So excited!! - Disneybird

The one an only time I went, there were a lot of families at 9. After I watched WOC at 10:15 and rode TSMM there were still families around dancing until the parked closed. I'm sure its different everyday. I'm from the bay area, so I don't get to see glowfest as often as the rest of y'all. - missingblackapinoatDL

This is a friendly debate. You posed an interesting question. Would Walt have approved Glowfest? That kinda segways into would Walt have even thought up DCa then right? Club 33 has a fully stacked bar. No question that he disapproved of alcohol all together. Then again he didn't put beer carts in DL or vend alcohol all together accessible in the park. We closed it down. Almost every Friday. And walt created a place to drink in Disbeyland because at that time they didn't have alcohol. You can

Glowfest was all about having fun and a place to go to get people away from world of color, and it worked....there's alcohol everywhere in DCA and just because some drunken kids come into the park and end up being stupid shouldn't create a black eye for glowfest or elecTRONica....there's a difference between having some drinks and having fun than having drinks and being stupid....I also saw a LOT of little kids having a blast being able to dance around and get worn out while the parent has a drink in celebration of getting the kid worn out for an early bedtime - AuzRoxUrSox

Reading this reminds me of last night. I got into a discussion with another CM from another department about this very thing. He said Glow is a rave, I said I hate when people call it a rave because it's not a rave, it's a family dance club. He said Walt wouldn't of liked it. Haha don't worry about it. I get asked questions like this all the time. My commute usually takes me about 30 minutes no traffic 45 - hour with traffic depending how heavy. I'm in the Resort Transportation & Parking and I really enjoy my job, it's rewarding knowing that I'm helping make someones day weather that be by showing them where to park, telling jokes or stories to the kids and making them smile when the lines for the trams are long, or just even a friendly smile, a wave and a have a good time. You can apply 2 ways. Online or I recommend going into Team Disney Anaheim and applying there. I find you hear back quicker from TDA then online. TDA is that green building on Ball just before you turn on the street for the structure - CMdman

Plaid says it best. I enjoy Disney a lot more now then I did when I was an AP holder just because I now know all the hard work that goes into it to making the magic and fun happen. I commute from San Dimas. Just do it, I have CM in my department, and I'm sure Plaid does too, who drive farther distances then you would - CMdman

Wait until you graduate then go to Team Disney Anaheim (TDA) on Ball and Cast Place and put an application in there. In my experience you have a better chance to get hired if you apply in person then online - CMdman
