I need some random advice... Where's the best place to travel for your first time out of the country?

It depends on what you like and what you want to do/see. Ivebeen places to see family and I have gone places for fun. - AliciaMomMom  58.7 #3583 10:58PM
I want to go some place fun not too expensive maybe costa rica... I just want to know of places that are easy to be a tourist in cuz I'm basically gonna know nothing - LittleMermaid  31.5 #4294 11:00PM

I don't know much about Costa Rica, but it sounds like a cool place to go. - AliciaMomMom  58.7 #3583 11:07PM
England, it's similar enough to make it easy to get around but still very different than life here in the us. And relatively safe. - Zooter  1361.7 #58 11:23PM
If anyone needs info about Costa Rica (like the best spots) let me know, my family is from there  - LBChica  1499.5 #51 11:30PM
England is the way to go!!!!!! - MinnieMe  76.8 #3321 11:33PM
@LBChica is Costa Rica pretty safe for two 22 year old girls? - LittleMermaid  31.5 #4294 11:36PM
No, Ive been to costa rica and going back next month I dont think that its that safe for a 23 year old female unless youre with a nice big group of people - Dave  8630.6 #2 11:42PM
Ditto to what Dave said, it's be best to go in a big group. I think it's always best to travel to another country with a group. - LBChica  1499.5 #51 12:06AM
England sounds pretty safe to me! Go with Zoot. In Zoot, we trust. - tina  1154.4 #69 12:08AM
Depends a lot on your budget and idea of "fun." Wanna do beachy stuff or sightsee museums/churches/temples? Lagers vs pubs with stout vs wine? I loved Italy as my first real trip post-college and am still dying to do England. Check out a "Let's Go" book from the library on the countries you're interested in and make a pro/con list. Often times there's a section in the back discussing safety and female travelers. - Polkadobo  372.1 #369 12:51AM
Thanks this helped! - LittleMermaid  31.5 #4294 3:17AM
You could always do a Contiki tour or something like that. Then you are with a group and you don't need to worry about anything. A lot of people from here start their OE's with a contiki. You'll make a lot of new friends too - JR  21.9 #4884 4:15AM
Contiki is an excellent idea for a young female first timer - BLG  1049.5 #81 4:21AM
