Annual Passholder Event: "Holiday Fantasy" will be held on Tuesday night from 8am-12am. This event is for those who are celebrating their pass anniversary between December 6, 2014 to March 7, 2015. Registration was online and is now closed. Those attending the event can sign-in and pick up their wristband at Ticket Booth #4 starting at 2pm and guests of registered AP holder must be registered in advance and will need a valid AP at the date of the event.
KOST 103.5 Radio Station Christmas Party will be held on Thursday this week from 8pm-11pm in Disneyland Park.
unForecast Crowd Prediction: Expect it to be quiet this week as park hours are shorter for this quick break before Thanksgiving week, but it might be crowded around closing both Tuesday and Thursday when guests for the private events start to come into the park. With Christmas Time in full gear, expect it to be busy again this weekend as the crowds start to show up for the Thanksgiving week holiday. Weekdays, expect CIs to be in the 50s-60s and weekends, expect CIs in the 70s-maybe 90s.
Attractions Closures: Jungle Cruise (opens 11/13), Mark Twain Riverboat (opens 11/29), Pinocchio and Snow White (both closed 11/12, reopens on 11/13).
This Thursday, November 13, is the official start of the Christmas season at the Resort, with many locations having new food and beverage offerings, the Jinge Jangle Jamobree at Big Thunder Ranch open, Jingle Cruise in Adventureland, Viva Navidad in Paradise Pier and so much more!
"Believe in Holiday Magic" fireworks will now show on a daily basis. 8:45pm (Monday/Tuesday), 7:45pm (Wednesday/Thursday), 9:25pm (Friday-Sunday).
Meet the characters of "Big Hero 6" in the Tomorrowland Starcade from 10:30am-1:30pm and 3pm-5pm!
"Wednesdays with Walt" Annual Passholder Event at the Main Street Opera House. Showtimes will vary depending on how long the presentation is. In order to register for this event, present a valid AP at the Main Street Opera House, starting at noon, to recieve a wristband for a screening from the "Disneyland" television series.
unForecast Crowd Prediction: Expect it to be busy this Monday and Tuesday as it is a holiday week (Veterans Day). Expect CIs to be in the 70s-80s. After Tuesday, it might be slow on Wednesday, but pick up again on Thursday through the weekend as it is the start of Christmas, expecting CIs to be in the 70s-80s again. In DCA, expect it to be quieter than Disneyland, so expect CIs to be in the 60s-70s.
Attraction Closures: "its a small world" (opens 11/7), Jungle Cruise (opens 11/14), Mark Twain Riverboat (opens 11/29).
Reminder that the Christmas season at the Resort starts on Thursday, November 13, but some festivities may start earlier.
This weekend, Disneyland will film its annual "Christmas Day Parade" for ABC. If the schedule follows from the previous years, Saturday will be the parade and Sunday will be the musical performances. The schedule and performers are not usually announced until the day of the filming.
Also this Friday, A Christmas Fantasy Parade will debut at 3pm and 5:45pm (notice the time changes), along with "Believe in Holiday Magic" fireworks at 9:25pm (Friday-Sunday).
unForecast Crowd Prediction: Expect it to be quiet this week with CI in the 50-60s, but as the weekend comes with the nice weather and hints of Christmas starting, expect the crowds to pick up to CIs in the 70s-80s. If you're planning on coming to the park on Saturday morning, be aware that it will be crowded along the parade route and Main Street as the Christmas Day parade filming will be taking place.
Attraction Closures: "it's a small world" is closed until November 7, in order to install the Christmas overlay. Also, the Mark Twain Riverboat will be down until November 29.
This week is the last week of Halloween Time at the Resort! After Friday, the parks will be a "transition" period between Halloween Time and Christmas Time, which officially starts on November 13.
unForcastCrowd Prediction: Expect it to be quiet this week, even though it is the last week of Halloween Time. During this last month, we've seen it normally quieter on the days where there is a MHP that night, but the crowd level pick up around 3-4pm, during the "mix-in" time. With Halloween being on a Friday this year, it will be interesting how crowded DCA will be at night. Normally during Halloween Party nights, DCA can get very crowded, with Crowd Indexes around 90+. Overall, expect the crowds to be quiet to moderately quiet (CIs in the 50-70s at DL, and 40-60 in DCA). Weekends though are hard to predict this week due to the end of Halloween Time.
Attraction Closures: "its a small world" has closed for the Christmas overlay. Expect it to open on November 7. Also, the Mark Twain Riverboat is still closed for its refurbishment, opening on November 29. On the DCA side, the Boudin Bakery Tour has closed for a refurbishment from Tuesday, October 21 and will reopen on January 16, 2015.
unForcast Crowd Prediction: Over the last few weeks, we've seen that when there isn't a Halloween Party in Disneyland Park, that day is more crowded than those days with a Halloween Party. I'm going to say that Tuesday and Thursday of this week will be the most crowded weekdays (Crowd Index between 70-85). On Friday night, expect it to be busy again in DCA as Disneyland Park hosts another MHP (we saw a crowd index of 90+ there on Friday night). The weekends should be busy again as it is the last full weekend of Halloween Time at the Resort.
Entertainment Notes: Fantasmic will be shown on an extra day this week, Monday at 9pm and 10:30pm.
unForcast Crowd Prediciton: Expect it to be a little busy this Monday as it is a holiday (Columbus Day) and the park is open later than normal. During the week, expect it to be quiet for most of the day, until around 3-4pm, when the Halloween Party crowds start to arrive. Like every Friday we've seen in October so far, expect it to be very busy in DCA on Friday night while DL hosts another Halloween Party.
Entertainment Notes: Due to Mickey's Halloween Party, Mickey's Soundsational Parade will perform at 3:30pm and 5pm on Tuesday and Friday. Also, Fantasmic will only be shown on Saturday/Sunday.
This weekend (Friday-Sunday), is the annual MouseWait birthday event! Please join us on Friday night as we takeover some attractions in DCA and for the main event, featuring a cake contest, a pumpkin contest and the annual raffle on Saturday afternoon in Downtown Disney. For more details, look under Admin's posts and/or click on the tag "5th Birthday Bash".
This Sunday, 10/12, the Resort will host its annual CHOC (Children's Hospital of Orange County) Walk in the morning. If you are planning to come to the park early that day, be aware that the park does open later than usual for a Sunday morning.
unForecast Crowd Prediction: Overall, expect it to be moderately quiet again this week. With having three Mickey's Halloween Parties this week, expect the crowds to pick up around 3pm-4pm as the party crowd comes in, part of the "mix-in" time. On Friday night, expect it to be busy again in DCA while the Halloween Party is going on in Disneyland Park. And on Sunday, the crowds may pick up after the CHOC walk. If possible, I would take advantage of Thursday night with Disneyland Park open late, until 11pm.
*Disneyland Park will close early for Mickey's Halloween Party. **Disneyland Park will close early for the Cast Member Family Little Monsters Halloween Party.
Disney California Adventure Park: 10am-8pm (Monday), 8am-8pm (Tuesday/Wednesday), 10am-8pm (Thursday), 8am-12am (Friday), 8am-10pm (Saturday/Sunday).
Entertainment Notes: Due to Mickey's Halloween Party, Mickey's Soundsational Parade will perform at 3:30pm and 5pm on Tuesday and Friday. Also, Fantasmic will only be shown on Saturday/Sunday.
Annual Passholder Sing-a-long Event- The Jungle Book (9/30), The Lion King (10/2, 10/3). Located in Hollywood Land's Stage 17. Registration was required, but more seats may be available on a standby basis. unForecast Crowd Prediction: Expect it to be moderately slow this week. This Thursday (10/2), the LAUSD has the day off, so it may be a little more crowded than normal for a Thursday. Also, with Mickey's Halloween Party this Friday, expect it to be very busy in DCA at night.
Disney California Adventure: 10am-8pm (Monday-Wednesday), 8am-6pm (Thursday), 8am-12am (Friday), 8am-10pm (Saturday/Sunday).
**Note: Disneyland Park will close at 7pm on Friday, September 26 due to Mickey's Halloween Party.
World of Color will not be shown on Thursday, September 25th.
The first of many nights of Mickey's Halloween Party will start this Friday night. Due to the separate ticket event, Disneyland Park will close earlier than normal, but DCA will stay open until 12am.
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage will return this Saturday, September 27 after its 9+ month refurbishment.
"Legends of Frontierland" will come to an end on Saturday, September 27. There are some special events and surprises planned for the day, so if you're in the area, feel free to stop by Frontierland between 11am-6pm as Rainbow Ridge and Frontierland settle their land fued.
unForcast Crown Prediction: Expect it to be quiet this week as both parks close at 8pm, and even earlier on other days too. Friday though, will be crowded as it is the first Mickey's Halloween Party. Because Disneyland is closed, expect it to be very crowded in DCA as it will be open later than normal that night. For the weekend, expect it to be busy Saturday and Sunday, until around Sunday afternoon when the crowds mellow out for the new week.
Update for week of Monday, September 15, 2014. Park Hours: Disneyland: 10am-8pm (Monday-Wednesday), 9am-5pm (Thursday*), 9am-12am (Friday and Saturday), 8am-12am (Sunday).
Disney California Adventure: 10am-8pm (Monday-Wednesday), 9am-8pm (Thursday), 9am-10pm (Friday and Saturday), 8am-10pm (Sunday).
*Disneyland Park will close at 5pm on Thursday due to a Cast Member Service event that evening. Also that day, Mickey's Soundsational Parade has been cancelled due to the event.
Fantasmic: 9pm and 10:30pm (Friday-Sunday), Remember Dreams Come True fireworks 9:25pm (Friday-Sunday), World of Color: 8:15pm (Monday-Thursday), 9:45pm (Friday/Sunday), 9pm (Saturday).
Attraction closures: Indiana Jones (9/16-9/19), Mark Twain Riverboat (now through 11/29), Finding Nemo (now through 9/27), Golden Zephyr (9/17-9/19).
Halloween Time has now started at the parks, including with the seasonal attraction overlays such as Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. Also, make sure to check out the many food and beverage locations that offer special offerings just for the Halloween season.
Reminder that Mickey's Halloween Party starts on Friday, September 26, in which Disneyland Park will close early for the private event.
unForcast Crowd Prediction: With it being very hot at the parks this week and with both parks closing early, expect both parks to be quiet as the resort is in "non-peak" season. As we get into the weekend, the temperature is supposed to go back to normal, which will cause the crowds to increase by Friday and Saturday.
