Question: last night I was at World of Color and after the show I was walking back to the yellow section when I passed a plaid explaining to some people that "he's with his girlfriend." As I continue walking I ask a lead if we had a celeb in VIP and she said yes and when I asked who (bec I couldn't tell who it was) she said "Zac Efron." I then notice him with his arm around his girlfriend and he's being escorted by 2 leads and a plaid to our backstage area to "ditch" the stalking fans being distracted by the other plaid. My question for you is, so you stalk celebs at the park or do you respect their privacy? Yes their line of work puts them in the public eye BUT don't they have the right to enjoy themselves without being stalked all day? I've seen posts on MW where people have been very respectful and blurred out kids or taken pics from a far but then I've seen people who post about hearing someone is I'm the park and they beg for pics or state they are on a hunt. I will admit I still get a little star struck when I notice a celeb I know but honestly, most of the time I walk right by them (like I almost did last night.) I just felt kinda bad for Zac bec he was just in the news for going to rehab and his birthday was recent as well and I'm sure he just wanted a nice day with his girl.... ***pic was found on google bec we all know CMs can't take pics on stage

I admit, I have been known to stalk Mickey while there.  I just can't help myself! - AZDisney  610.2 #289 9:15AM
Of Course You Have To Stalk The Characters.Lol But When I See Celebrities I Just Say Hi Or Nod And Be On My Way. They Do Need Privacy too - gonzofam  303.3 #803 9:53AM
And if I'm really lucky, I catch him with his girlfriend! - AZDisney  610.2 #289 10:02AM

I Know Right haha - gonzofam  303.3 #803 6:50PM
Growing up in Los Angeles I have never been concerned with celebs as they are just Normal people with fun jobs. I believe everyone has the right to enjoy themselves without a bunch of people bugging them and think people should let them be.  However, when u choose that career path U know it is an inherent part of the job. So they can't complain when the fans go a lil nuts in a public place. However I view these fans as a lil nuts. But again it goes with the territory. And Holly Madison should've of thought of that when she posed naked for a mag and did reality tv. U can't jump into water and wonder y u got wet. But again I don't think u should intrude on anyone's time uninvited.  Celeb or otherwise.   - FarelMickey  119.4 #3094 10:41AM
100% agree - missariel33  1683.7 #81 10:45AM
I believe they have the right to enjoy themselves, just as much as the rest of us do.  Let them enjoy the magic! - Cyette  6.1 #13692 8:48AM
Holly Madison's attorney and the judges and the following court appearances told me she does not liked to be chased down for marriage proposals. - madsdad  1846.5 #74 10:06AM
I'm a discreet stalker. I might follow for a little bit and take a pic from a distance without being completely obvious. I've never asked for an autograph or a photo with a celeb at DL. John Stamos is the only one who I would approach without hesitation.  - nerdgirl  82.4 #3687 4:57PM
I totally agree :) and i probably have passed by celebs with Plaids more than I know. But I am πŸ‘΅. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  4702.3 #20 9:00AM
U and that πŸ‘΅!! πŸ˜‚ - missariel33  1683.7 #81 11:36AM
A long time ago, I worked at a certain fruit store, when I went to training I would hear stories about how my coworkers in other parts of the country were considered rock stars at their store. That was never the case in my store where we were visited often by actual rock stars, movie stars, non-children stars, models and professional athletes. I never thought twice about it when we were face to face, because that's just how I was brought up. I grew up in a town where the guy down the street could be a 49er, a television star, a Silicon Valley millionaire, or baseball player, and I went to school sometimes with their kids or saw them daily at the ice cream parlor or grocery store I worked at in high school. They are normal people, and to me getting my picture with them as normal people is just weird. It took me years to want to do character pics at the park even, and they're working. I don't know, celebrity doesn't always phase me, certain celebs have done great things and I would feel compelled to thank them for those things even more than their movies or products if I got to speak with them. They get so few chances to go out and be themselves or a family, Disneyland is everyone's chance to escape, I won't encroach on their chance too. - BeatleMike  565.5 #315 9:00AM
I feel the same way...especially working where I do. Although I still get tongue tied around Patrick Marleau!  - ythdudette  1174.1 #126 9:09AM
Yeah you have lots of interaction I bet. I was more awestruck sometimes by the guy who comes in and handed me a computer full of "Iraqi sand". Those were the people I gave star treatment. - BeatleMike  565.5 #315 9:12AM
I pretty much second everything BeatleMike just said except I worked at a salad bar and then a regular bar. lol. While my coworkers would be falling all over themselves for somebody like MC Hammer, I'd request to not serve him because he's a cheap-o tipper. πŸ˜‚. Also it's a long standing shouldn't need to be said rule that we don't post pics of anybody's minis unless we have permission...celebrity or not. - Linzee  910.1 #174 9:47AM
Oh Patrick Marleau..!! Those eyebrows get me every time! - London-In-Wonderland  450.9 #429 10:01AM
It's a weird phenomenon isn't it? Yes, they do live in the public eye, but that doesn't mean the public should stalk/hunt them down. Certain celebrities go out with the intention of attracting attention, but others obviously just want to have a nice day at DL with friends and family (for example, he chose to visit on a Tuesday evening, not a busy Saturday). It's one thing to have a conversation with someone and ask to take a photo with them, but I'm not a fan of stalkarazzi stuff--I feel like it's a violation of privacy. - Spoonful_O_Sugar  562.9 #316 9:08AM
everyone deserves a fun time at disneyland andwe  all respect celeberty mini's or like you said take there pick from afar. mwrs see them pic and post and move on but there are a few who like to interact with people at the park, dont you take to park guests at parks as well as a guest or cm working do.I do believe it drives us a bt crazy because you rarely see celebs around unless your in there hangout areas or functions so seeing them out in a magical place like dl is like wow even if the paparrazi dont know they are there are they are trying to enjoy there day. one thing is you can raise notice is to have a plaid although some celebs go without - pikarich  3337.2 #31 9:25AM
I wouldn't even notice these people. - Lelundrial  498.3 #377 9:41AM
Trust Me Neither Do I At times - gonzofam  303.3 #803 9:53AM
Neither do I.  Plaid or not.  πŸ˜ - AZDisney  610.2 #289 10:05AM
I was lucky enough to see my fave OC "housewife" Heather Dubrow at Dland in sept.  While I would have LOVED a pic, she was with a young child and plaid and in passing just told her I thought she was fabulous, to which she smiled and said thanks, I think you are too!  Made my day but wouldn't have chased her down.   - DisneyPrincessT  76.0 #3790 9:57AM
I'm torn. I've seen a few celebs. Most of the time I just leave them be. Maybe take a picture from afar.  I met Ken Jeung (Hangover) at parks in a line. Asked him to take a picture with my son. Did not include his wife or kids. He was very nice and I let him go about his day. I also would have understood if he said no. If they are dodging people, they obviously don't want to be disturbed, I leave them alone.  Yet many of them are earning millions of $ and it is a bit of the price for their fame as long as you aren't going overboard or really disturbing their visit. - DLKenCA  1856.5 #72 10:13AM
you have my permission to take my picture but you keep refusing - pikarich  3337.2 #31 10:24AM
I kinda agree. That saying does go, "the price of fame". But some of these people go way over board. People do pay for their success so it's only fair for a hello or quick picture when the time is appropriate. I don't know. I'm torn too. Everyone deserves to enjoy disney magic. Privileged or not. - mini_MINNIE   1019.3 #156 10:28AM
For sure. I think if its a "natural setting" like in line or by the restrooms (that's where I me "the game" lol its one thing but to stalk anyone is not OK- celebrity or not IMO - missariel33  1683.7 #81 10:56AM
In line it's almost rude not to strike up some kind of conversation after a while. - BeatleMike  565.5 #315 11:23AM
pikarich...you already broke one of my cameras when I tried. You are worse than the celebs. - DLKenCA  1856.5 #72 1:43PM
I actually got to help out Mr. Efron last night in Critter Country. I didn't recognize him at first, because he was wearing a hat, but a recognized his voice.  He and his friend bought some goodies from themselves and some to take home. He was really nice and even paid for his friends' food. - BaseballMickey_CM  6494.4 #12 10:31AM
I bet he's a really nice guy. - Malefitiff  8.6 #10546 11:06AM
You are all amazing! I love the Mouse Wait comminity! The thing about last night was it was just him and one other person and his plaid. He didn't have an entourage or a group of guy friends. So with that said I would assume he's there to enjoy some "down time." I just felt bad that he had to be taken back stage and shuffled around to ditch the stalkers... To be honest, when I'm WOC I look at VIP every time and never see celebs and I bet it's because I don't recognize them   - CM_Tamstirr  551.3 #324 11:11AM
By the way, thank you for the backside of Zac picture. - mrAZdisney  35.9 #4993 11:24AM
Oops!  Just realized I'm signed in as my husband! - mrAZdisney  35.9 #4993 11:34AM
Hahahah!!!! - missariel33  1683.7 #81 11:36AM
Here's a little tip for celebs that don't want to be noticed...don't hire a plaid. If you just experience the park like any other guest, no one will even notice and those that do won't believe it's you. - bluefairy  643.3 #263 12:16PM
I get what u r saying bluefairy but from a CM POV not having a plaid could pose certain security and safety issues. Without a plaid last night he would not have had the option to duck back stage. Plus the plaids worked together with the WOC leads to distract said stalkers while they got him out of there... - CM_Tamstirr  551.3 #324 12:24PM
I've never understood the fascination with stars. They are normal people outside of their work. I normally don't recognize them anyways and if I did I would definitely give them their space. - sawman911  665.4 #252 11:22AM
I feel bad for celebs who get stalked at the parks, they're there to enjoy the day and escape reality with a little Disney magic like everyone else. I encountered a crowd of stalkers last year in cars land when Louis from 1 Direction was there with his girlfriend, I had no clue it was him who everyone was stalking until my 1 1/2 yr old at the time walked right in front of them almost bumping into them, I apologized to them and then realized who he was, told them my son was still getting used to the whole walking thing and they laughed and said it was fine, also mentioned that my son was cute lol and then they were rushed off cause of everyone following them. I felt bad how they had to be hurried through carsland because I'm sure it was their first time there and probably their first time at the parks seeing as they're from England. Tim Allen goes to my church along with a bunch if other celebs who have visited as well and they're all just regular people like the rest of us trying to do the little things we do everyday. - angelinuh  10.0 #9590 11:36AM
I personally do not care about celebrities most the famous people that the rest of the populous know I don't so they are nobodies to me haha - starwarsmamma  561.6 #317 12:07PM
This is how I look at it...yes, they are in the public eye but, they are still people wanting to have fun with their family and friends so, I just smile and let them be...just saying - dawna  290.0 #882 12:11PM
If they're in my path of walking I might take a pic or say hi. I usually only do so if it's someone I like or someone that somebody might enjoy a pic of. - ChristopherRobin661  269.1 #1067 12:25PM
