So the scale is still not budging at all.
  But I did get in 9 miles yesterday, so my training is going well and on track for the WDW Half in January.  I also made my TNT fundraising goal (which is a huge relief!).  So I'm just going to keep focusing on my training and worry about the scale after the race.

Mine is budging...going up!  Once again I gained weight back.  How many times have you all heard me say this.  Will I ever learn to KEEP it off!?! - msdizmaui  716.8 #270 4:07PM

I had the same problem with training for the DL half.  My husband was good about reminding me that my body comp was changing: I was losing fat, but not weight.  It seems counterintuitive, but it's so much more complex than the old "calories in / calories out" theory: there's a lot of chemistry involved.  One thing I had to really be conscious of was my fuel before, during and after the run.  The Gatorade, gels, blocks, coconut water....they all add up (and then I have the added issue of being STARVING after a really long run).  It's taken a lot of Googling and playing around with diet, electrolytes, and hydration, but I did start to feel comfortable in the weeks leading up to the race.  I didn't lose, but had the same mindset as you: my performance was more important than the scale.  You are doing amazing: just think of what your body is doing!  :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar  613.1 #331 5:59PM

ah, thanks for that.....glad I'm not alone in this. I'm still figuring out the fuel and hydration thing as I gain mileage, so you make a good point about the calories adding up. I'm trying to just concentrate on getting stronger (and hopefully a little faster!).  :0) - D55CR  249.9 #1354 11:24AM
