Well, while we're listing grievances: Personally, I'm most upset about the fact that I haven't eaten here. πŸ˜‚ - cynDOLEwhip  1175.5 #148 9:36PM
Ditto...and even after 2 invitations. πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’” - Darlingwendi  1222.7 #140 9:44PM

Ditto. Now if I ever do get an invite (which is so very unlikely) ill never have seen the original :( - bks4lou  222.0 #1709 6:10AM

Personally, I have no problems for the Court des Anges (if you're a supposed huge fan of the place, then call it by its real name) being turned into the lobby for guests of Club 33. Although a beautiful part of the park, it is probably one of THE MOST unused portion of the park. Now it will actually get some use from it. It gets passed by 99.9% of the time. It's about time that its used for something.  - Waites4DodgerEars_CM  1002.5 #188 6:41AM
I agree, I think it's a good use of the space. Where guest enter currently is sometimes so busy, IMO it's not that "grand" of an entrance. ::shrug:: This could make it more special. It's nice to think on the bright side...not like we can do anything about the changes.... - Duchess_SMK  6340.7 #18 7:48AM
Waites4DodgerEars- Nicely put. - AZDisney  610.4 #334 7:55AM
@waits: the same knee jerk occurred when they announced the fantasy faire. The area was empty almost all the time, and look at it now! I do miss the private bathrooms in the morning and having cups of coffee watching the ducks and people in n out of frontier land but the change was definetly for the better. This will be too and the vast majority will NEVER even notice! - georgieporgie  183.9 #2196 9:22AM
The stairs of Court des Anges are where we take our annual pictures and see how much our LilChurros have grown 😞 - misschurro  6362.1 #17 9:31AM
Members are just as upset about the Trophy Room as guests are about Court of Angels. Remember members are also losing a place where they too have created memories.  - RickChavez  3671.6 #40 9:49AM
Its true, I walked by last wk and had to turn around and try to find where it was. I'm glad it will get used more....Ms.Churro, I feel your pain, though πŸ˜” - MissMolly  1355.3 #129 9:39PM
I'm pretty mad about the green door no longer being used simply for the fact that means the French Lift that Walt personally had made and installed won't be used by guests ever again. Same goes for the Trophy Room. Also really upset that my favorite spot in the entire resort will be for members and guests only now. - CM_Shadowgamer  2515.9 #56 9:04PM
I agree. - PrincessTiannaBeignet  335.5 #722 9:09PM
I've heard the lift is supposed to move to the Court of Angels. Trophy Room is a bummer. I'm kinda bummed about lunch buffet going away. I hope that doesn't include Brunch with the characters.  - RickChavez  3671.6 #40 9:11PM
Me too  - Fantasmicfan1  1538.2 #110 9:59PM
I agree, this really is upsetting! - CuriousAsAlice7  165.2 #2493 8:06AM
There is a new elevator going in and the old lift will be seen in the new club. Thats still being worked out. I wondered how long it would take for this info to get out. Last monday began the previews - A video was shown as well as numerous design boards and blue prints. It was made clear that they looked back to original concept drawings for inspiration, so much of what will be seen was originally looked at before the club even opened such as interior murals. There will be nothing from Disney to the media on this like there was for 1901. Everything will come from members. Excited for Salon Nouveau. - SparklingMare  53.9 #4623 11:39AM
This is an expensive, exclusive club. Personally, I think they deserve a more private, beautiful entrance than what they currently have. Everyone and their mother gawks in front of the current entrance to take photos. It's logical to use the CoA: so many people know about C33 now, they might as well have a grander entrance that creates a quiet buffer for members and their guests. While I'm sad that a special place for some people will be taken away, there are other quiet and beautiful areas in the parks to make new memories. And that's the beauty of DL: there's ALWAYS something new to discover if you are open to change 😊 Maybe DL will create a new little hideaway somewhere nearby after CoA closes! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  613.1 #331 9:39AM
i'm most upset about CoA. i think it's dumb. - nicoleface  1752.6 #96 9:18PM
It really is the only place they can use though. A lot of people are upset about CoA. Members are upset about the Trophy room but having that be the kitchen the Club doesn't want the first room guests see to be the kitchen when they go upstairs.  - RickChavez  3671.6 #40 9:38PM
really? they don't want that to be the first room they see? like they can't block it off when something? it's money grubbing. let's take away one of the most beautiful and secluded parts of the parks away from guests to please a select, exclusive group. it's sad. - nicoleface  1752.6 #96 11:34PM
Let's be honest. This area is always empty. It has a lot of memories for people but its always empty every time I walk by. I too like this area and going for a quick break but its just not being really used. - RickChavez  3671.6 #40 11:38PM
let's be honest, if every square inch of the parks were crowded with people it wouldn't be as enjoyable. i think CoA could use some benches or tables to make it more of a relaxing area for people. not every space has to be occupied all the time. it's not a huge piece of the parks that's wasting away. it's a small hideaway full of detail, one of the things that makes disneyland, imho, more intimate, charming, and lovely than the other parks (granted, i've only been to WDW). that magic doesn't come by figure out how to maximize profits, it just doesn't. - nicoleface  1752.6 #96 12:01AM
Great points there. I'm kinda just going off by what I heard Disney wants to do as it doesn't have the real estate or budget like WDW. - RickChavez  3671.6 #40 12:04AM
I am not one of the exclusive 33 members  but I agree with @RickChavez the area is never used, so why not.  The Court of Angels is a beautiful area, no doubt, and the Walt history in Club 33 is also very cool. But all of Disneyland is magically laced with Walt's finger prints & there are plenty of places to create new memories. Club 33 members are happiness is all that matters. They pay hefty fees & wait a long time to join. Disneyland is awesome regardless. - RosettatheRunner  16.4 #8169 1:27AM
I'm not a Club 33 member, nor have I ever been invited there, but to say that their happiness is all that matters is really an inappropriate statement.  Walt did not intend Disneyland to turn into a place for only an elite select few.  I don't think any of the Club 33 members that are MWers would agree with your sentiment.  As a matter of fact, many of them have invited people to join them at Club 33.  So obviously, they care about the happiness of others just as much as Walt did.   - DisneyDavidEMT  2630.4 #50 4:48AM
Well said DisneyDavidEMT - Bibba  462.5 #470 8:18AM
@rose: well said. It blows me away how often "you get what you pay for" is switched to "I deserve what they pay for " at the parks. TDA does a great job of offering a tiers product line and subsidizing tickets to include everyone. That fact is often overlooked because it "isn't enough for us pass holders". - georgieporgie  183.9 #2196 9:15AM
I wouldn't be so bummed about it if we could all somehow enjoy it.  It's sad that the price of admission is unattainable for 95% of the "guests". I enjoy the court of Angels all the time - it's my quiet retreat when I need to sit for a bit and retreat from the crowds.  I guess I won't be able to enjoy that anymore either.  I'm guessing that my annual pass price will not be reduced - despite the reduction in park I will get to enjoy...... - Sfarrell  97.7 #3630 4:57AM
I know I am in the minority here but I just would love to eat there once in my life time...lol - TrampsLady  1641.8 #102 9:27AM
Great info, thank you! - Geekery  409.4 #547 1:00PM
Glad to help - NickDoubleyew  1083.2 #168 1:08PM
This answered so many questions. My quiet time in The Court Angels is coming to an end.  - adisneyfamily  1003.9 #187 1:18PM
I know, I'm not happy. Oh well.  - DeadliestPassholder  314.8 #825 2:14PM
Not happy either. We are the minority. - Winnie111286  12310.7 #4 11:18AM
As a former club 33 cm, I can tell you that the senior servers (those with long standing seniority) have to be pissed! They will now have to work elsewhere during thus remodel to protect their seniority . Β Can't wit to hear about that drama ;-). And I bet dues are going way up. - Disneyjen  49.4 #4805 2:30PM
Dues are not going up this year.  - RickChavez  3671.6 #40 5:41PM
Thanks for the update.  - Linzee  1188.6 #146 8:30PM
I wanna go while it's still the original.  NOT FAIR.  - TrueFromOzLovesDisney  531.4 #391 8:36PM
I also see no mention of the jazz club, one of Walt's original plans for the club. - NickDoubleyew  1083.2 #168 9:18PM
The part where where they talk about a new lounge like Club 1901 is what they are referring to. - RickChavez  3671.6 #40 9:41PM
I was wondering - NickDoubleyew  1083.2 #168 9:50PM
Also I think it will be called Jazz Lounge. At least that's what I've heard it reffered to.  - RickChavez  3671.6 #40 9:52PM
Salon Nouveau - SparklingMare  53.9 #4623 11:43AM
Old Blue prints show this new club space as a proposed steakhouse, so it was originally intended as a restaurant/lounge space. - SparklingMare  53.9 #4623 11:45AM
Man! Wish I could see it before they change everything. Maybe if I sit by the door with a super sad face, a member will take me in lol - BriarBeauty  121.7 #3191 10:42PM
One more thing that will be on my bucket list forever, I guess.  Ah well, can't have everything! - iteachdisney  196.7 #2033 10:43PM
Thank you for the update! The CoA is such a hidden gem! Always makes me feel like I'm in "A Street Car Named Desire" in ole N.O. - JediCOTA  93.4 #3690 11:51PM
Hang on to your club 33 stuff. Im sure this will get out by next friday as well.  - SparklingMare  53.9 #4623 11:49AM
Also there were several mobs of families in there yesterday when we made out ritual quiet time stope, they were all lookin around amazed at how pretty such a small area could be and taking a ton of photos I have never walked by and nt seen at least one person in or standing out looking in. Obviously I don't have a say and can't change it but I will greatly miss it and agree with Nikki that it is definitely not wasted space. I never see people at the Harbor Gally getting food when I go by so that must never be used right? Nope. Over all I don't think they "deserve" a grander entrance. - starwarsmamma  561.6 #360 11:20AM
I agree. They are few. Leave our Disneyland alone. The many need it more. - Winnie111286  12310.7 #4 5:32PM
