Orientation lock is awesome for surfing the web in Safari. If you haven't found it yet, double tap the Home button and scroll left. There's hidden iPod controls there too! - John

If you press orientation lock, the screen won't change to landscape when you turn your phone on its side. - Jackie.H

It disables the motion sensor and gets rid of the portrait/landscape shift in some apps. Most notably, Safari - if you lay on your side in bed like I do on your phone, Safari won't change orientation every time you move your phone. - John

I'm pretty happy thus far. I mean I felt like facebook slowed down but I probably just need to uninstall and then reinstall again. That is by far the worst app! Blah! But I love being able to listen to pandora and text. Total win! - Smart.tea
