Omg...just when i think the day can't get any more crazy. A POSSUM came into our bedroom through our balcony door. We keep it open on warm nights. No idea what to do or if it's still in there. Ugh. Crazy.
Where do you live? My aunt lives in Lake Forest and she always has raccoons or oppossums on her balcony or porch. - Marieeezy

My uncle had a male living inside his RECLINER! he worked nights and slept during the day and he kept finding poop in his living room and kitchen and couldn't find out where it was coming from. So he finally had a exterminator come in and the exterminator found the possum in his CHAIR! they had to call animal control to come get it. My uncle figured it was living there for just over a month!! - DisneylandChick11

OMG!! Don't kill it cause it's considered an endangered species. Fine is $500! We had one years ago in our backyard. It attacked our 1st dog & bit it's forehead. - BeautyandTheBeast

Well Mrhoney went into our room with a long stick and our black lab. There was a weird cooing noise coming from the animal, so now I'm not sure if it was an opposum or a racoon. The noise was loud enough to scare MrHoney out of there. He bravely went back in after the noise stopped and inspected things. We also let all of the animals in to inspect. It seems to be gone but since it's late and dark and we can't find our flashlight, I'm quarenteening our room for the night. We will sleep in our guest room until tomorrow, when we have the whole day to thoroughly inspect every nook and cranny of our room to be certain there isn't something in there. Plus sleeping in there would be too much fun for MrH as I'm jumpy and he's alredy scared me a few times tonight by saying "omg look it's the opossum!" or making the hissy cooey noise at me. - MsHoney

All is safe. We have checked everywhere and it's gone as far as we can tell. Thanks all for your prayers and concern. @GoW it is spelled opossum but I was freaking out as I typed- sorry for the typo! - MsHoney

I guess I'm the only one who thinks Possums are kinda cool. We saw an animal show one time and they had a trained possum in it named LeStat (sp?). He was very cool and if you learn about them, they're pretty amazing and interesting creatures. - Nink

I also meant to say that doesn't mean I'd want one in my house and I'm glad everything worked out. - Nink

Opossums are mean. My grandma had one in her garage once. She had to call animal control to have it removed. Glad everything worked out. Nothing farms to venture into our space. I think our 75 pound lab scares them away. What they don't know is she's a whip. Lol. - PrettyPixie
