Anybody hear anything about the Candy Cane hotel?? - LeftyLightning  424.0 #520 3:28PM
I have stayed there in the past and its a cute little hotel with shuttle to the parks and free breakfast, but its been a while since we been there - pineapple  137.5 #61 3:40PM
The only place we stay. Just simply wonderful. Also the only place my co-workers will stay. Very clean, continental breakfast included, shuttle (yet within walking distance). Love the CCI - Bo22  394.2 #570 4:52PM
I've stayed at the candy cane a couple of times. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Free breakfast. Easy walk to the parks - chancesr  241.4 #1459 3:35PM
None. We always pick the Anabella Hotel. It's our fav!! It is a beautiful walk and we get to go through the Grand each day! - 1Princess3Princes  611.2 #333 2:38PM
Thanks, I'll look them up - lynniesue42  232.4 #1577 2:40PM
I agree! A much nicer walk and you enter from downtown Disney and not by the buses. They have great family rooms if you need too. - ShariRenee  8577.7 #9 2:48PM
Love Anabella Hotel also! Their rooms are nice and I enjoy the walk to the park. Far less crowded! - utahdisneygal  74.4 #4054 2:56PM
How long is the walk? - lynniesue42  232.4 #1577 3:21PM
And I like the idea of less crowded...anyone know if they offer a breakfast and how is the walk at night? Less crowded? But still safe? - lynniesue42  232.4 #1577 3:24PM
Much less crowded. Safe walk down Disney Way and not the hustle of Harbor. I always feel safe walking there. - ShariRenee  8577.7 #9 3:26PM
Walk is maybe 10 minutes but you can cut thru Grand California. They have breakfast but its extra, not free. Very safe. I walked back by myself at 11 one night and was fine. Its lit up. - utahdisneygal  74.4 #4054 3:33PM
Park Vue Inn. It's right outside the gates. Pool, free breakfast, free parking, free wifi... Not as cool as HoJo though. - EastBaytoLA  1020.8 #181 2:47PM
Are they a good neighbor hotel? I didn't see them on the list, but I'll look again - lynniesue42  232.4 #1577 3:22PM
Hotel Ménage is, by far, my favorite Anaheim hotel. The view of the fireworks from the pool is phenomenal. Out of those hotels you mentioned, Carousel is the best: across from the main gate, free continental-style breakfast, decent rooms. - Diz_Mel  96.0 #3652 2:52PM
Nice too, a little further walk but the rooms are funky and cool. Ask for an inner room so no freeway noise ; - ShariRenee  8577.7 #9 2:57PM
Ive heard good things about them as well...how's the walk - lynniesue42  232.4 #1577 3:19PM
Walks about 15 minutes, on the corner of Ball and Harbor. - ShariRenee  8577.7 #9 3:21PM
Oh and their restaurant is surprisingly good and a Starbucks across the street. - ShariRenee  8577.7 #9 3:23PM
I just stayed there and didn't feel like it was a family atmosphere. Our room smelled like cigarettes, club scene in the lobby, and someone smoking something else in the front - LaPearleNoir  1789.7 #94 4:27PM
I stayed at the Ménage once and was not impressed. I also felt it didn't have much of a family atmosphere and the walk was much longer than we expected, we actually ended up just driving to the park everyday and paying to park, but I guess we're just used to staying right across the street. However, that was just my experience, I've heard good things about it from others; I wouldn't personally recommend it though. - MallE  164.3 #2505 6:11PM
Do not go to the Carousel place. I stayed there last time. Found hair in the shower and on one of the bed spreads. No carpeting, which means they need to really clean the floors. They were dusty, and they hadn't cleaned behind the bedside table in months. - Lelundrial  656.4 #305 3:04PM
Ewww...the hair part grosses me out...though I realize it could happen anywhere....but still... - lynniesue42  232.4 #1577 3:20PM
I agree, it can happen anywhere. I have seen absolutely clean Motel 6's and I have also seen five star hotels have hair. The place is only as good as the management is - misschurro  6362.4 #17 3:25PM
We used to stay at The Candy Cane Inn every yr for 16yrs till a really bad incident happened. Tropicana is a good hotel, also Anaheim Plaza isn't so bad but further from DL entrance. - dumbbunny  627.2 #324 3:33PM
Oh noes!!😱😱 - misschurro  6362.4 #17 3:37PM
It was pretty horrifying. - dumbbunny  627.2 #324 3:38PM

I've stayed at the Carousel twice & it was a nice hotel. - VikkiMouse  182.2 #2224 3:50PM
We just stayed at the best western Anaheim. Short walk to the gates, clean rooms with fridge and TV, daily cleaning service, pool etc. they are remodeling their breakfast area so no free breakfast, BUT they provided breakfast bags each morning for free. Inside was an apple, muffin, small bottle of water, and a granola bar. So nice! :-) - PinkTink88  25.1 #6513 4:00PM
Tropicana, hands down. we stayed at the Carousel last week and we were not impressed at all. - MikeyMouse  145.1 #2795 4:12PM
I almost forgot. We complained about a bad sewer smell coming form the bathroom sink drain. They went down and closed the stopper to keep the smell from coming up. Worked great until we had to open it to run and then drain the water.....I thought that was extremely odd and the management didn't think anything of it. - MikeyMouse  145.1 #2795 5:58PM
I have to say, most places we stay have an icky sewer smell in their sinks. Old plumbing. - misschurro  6362.4 #17 6:35PM
Thanks everyone for your input...turned out Hojo didn't have kids suites like we wanted but we decided to negotiate and just book double queen...anyone know if HoJos water play area remains open in the winter? - lynniesue42  232.4 #1577 4:13PM
I don't know. I was wondering the same thing the other day. I'd be sad if we stayed there and my minis couldn't play in the water! - NellTinkerBell  322.8 #792 4:15PM
I've stayed there in Feb 2011and the kids area was open as usual. I've stayed a few times and its always great! - bayoucruisinprincess  57.0 #4507 4:23PM
I just called and water park is open year round - lynniesue42  232.4 #1577 4:26PM
We stayed there and thoroughly enjoyed the water park last December (especially the giant dumping water bucket). Enjoy! - EastBaytoLA  1020.8 #181 5:28PM
The Marriott was not bad for our friends... - BombFrogFormerCM  1015.8 #183 4:35PM
I would suggest the Park Vue inn. The prices are great and right across the street from the bus drop off. - futureCMChristina  33.2 #5693 5:08PM
I stayed at the Candy Cane Inn about two years ago. All was fine until I saw a huge water bug in the bathroom sink. It was so scary and disgusting! 😱 - notw12  183.5 #2207 5:17PM
We have stayed at the carousel twice now - they have 2 bedroom/2 bath suites that work perfect for three adults (3 beds). I get my own room and bath. I did have to get the AC filter cleaned, but they took care of it without any hassle. The walk to the park is not bad, I've done it after the park closes by myself - plenty of folks to keep you company. - TikiMama  11.6 #10011 5:32PM
We just got home from the Candy Cane Inn, and we had a wonderful stay!! - mrstoad  256.1 #1291 6:02PM
My family really likes the Fairfield Inn, nice hotel, right across the street, decent price, and McDonald's right next door for cheap breakfasts and late night snacks :) Also, if you join the Marriott rewards program you can get a lot of points for free nights in the future. - MallE  164.3 #2505 6:15PM
Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer....I just booked my next trip!!! - lynniesue42  232.4 #1577 7:30PM
