I used to make fun of parents that put their kid on a leash. Now I am one! Trust me - this is a "must have" in DL for toddlers looking to go AWOL from the stroller! Glad my little man likes his hipster lion leash!

Do they make a double one for child and husband?😜 - PrincessAuroraMomma  526.9 #356 1:46PM
If you wear roller blades, then they could just pull you around all day! πŸ˜‚ - Spoonful_O_Sugar  573.4 #319 1:52PM
Oh snap! - Bo22  387.1 #531 10:22PM
We had to use a strap on one kid, one time. My mom (grandma) was going to fly with him from Ca to Ohio. She had to go thru Chicago airport. He was only 2. We just told him it was to hold on to grandma, so she didn't get lost in the airport. It was a big job to keep an eye on her, but he was a big boy, and we knew he wouldn't lose her if he put the strap on his wrist and hers. He loved his strap. Felt so empowered. Those grandmas are quick you know, get lost easily. - Sugarbuzz  184.1 #2100 8:14AM
Love the reverse psychology! - DisneyDawn  419.2 #480 8:29AM
I have a bunch of little tricks like that with raising 3 kids. My other favorite was at the checkout line with all the candy at kid eye level. I told the same kid that was "Oooolddddd candy, and mama would get him new candy." He grew up never asking for candy or throwing a tantrum in the store for candy (cereal). Every now and then when he wasn't with me, I brought home new candy. He would tell his little brother and sister that it was old and mama would get new... I can still hear his little voice 28 yrs later. - Sugarbuzz  184.1 #2100 1:40PM
It's not a leash! It's a child safety tether.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - HasAnyoneSeenMyGlassSlipper  655.4 #266 11:13PM
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚beat me to it!!! - MrsSchnooks  3042.7 #39 11:16PM
One time my hubby was walking our dogs and we had the harness on our son and it was funny cuz our dogs were pulling the leashes and our son was pulling on his. πŸ˜‚ Sorry had to be there. - dumbbunny  626.5 #289 11:20PM
Woohoo. Lol. Good one! - daddystud9  70.5 #3930 11:22PM

You guys are killing me!! Seriously, I have not laughed this hard in a while. 5-4-3-2-1... Brilliant!!!! - daddystud9  70.5 #3930 11:24PM
For the record I used one ;) - PinkElephants  745.7 #226 11:25PM
As long as your a responsible person. I hate when they first came out. Had some kids leash wrapped around my legs, because some parent didn't want to pay attention to their kid. I have not nor would i ever use one. There it my rant for the issue. - mlatour  334.3 #662 11:29PM
Basically what I was thinking PE... - MEHlanie_Mouse  1114.5 #140 11:32PM
πŸ˜‚ MM - PinkElephants  745.7 #226 11:34PM
Hey it keeps your child safe and that is what counts. My son was more then a hand full and would run away for fun. We used a monkey backpack and tether when we would be in the parks all the time. - JediMickey714  12.8 #8467 10:53AM
I think this is how you do it. Keep the leash as a back up... but hold your child's hand to keep him with you. At least they made it a backpack and not just a straight leash to harness. Even the best parents might have that split second where the kid might wander off without warning - and they'd wish they had that leash. Personally, I don't like it, especially when it's use as the primary source of "babysitting" their kid. But if a parent wants to use the leash as that extra safety, go for it. Some kids need it and some kids don't. But no need to judge the parents who use it. I use one..... but not at the Parks.... ;) - LaTruce  2259.5 #54 11:43AM

If a leash is good enough for my dog, it will be good enough for my future kid!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - Spoonful_O_Sugar  573.4 #319 3:52PM
Exactly! I love my girls more than my dogs and I use a lease for my dogs to keep them safe. - PrincessDuckie  799.2 #207 3:57PM
Remember the invisible dog on a leash? I hope they make an invisible kid on a leash. - cereal  145.9 #2674 11:34PM
We were checking into out hotel Thursday night waiting at the front desk. A near hysterical lady came up to me to see if I had seen a baby run through here. I was puzzled but I had not. I watched them and then the elevator opened and a two year old came out by himself! Laughing! Some kids need the leash. Better safe than sorry. - AZDisney  610.3 #296 8:10AM
I don't know if it was intentional or not, but the stroller lady in the back left is totally judging you. - LittleAprilShowers  560.5 #327 4:01PM
No, she's thinking "man, that is one sweet child safety tether that kid is wearing - I wonder if they sell those at the emporium?!" - daddystud9  70.5 #3930 12:42AM
Ok. I see it now. - LittleAprilShowers  560.5 #327 10:19PM

Your son is adorable by the way! - MrsSchnooks  3042.7 #39 11:22PM
Thx - he is rather adored by his 6 sisters. Yup, I said 6. Good thing DL is crammed full of princess for my ladies!! - daddystud9  70.5 #3930 11:26PM
I LOVE KID LEASHES! So far our 15 year old is well adjusted, the jury's out on the 5 year old ;-) - PrincessDuckie  799.2 #207 11:23PM
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I so read this like your 15 year old is still on a leash! - MrsSchnooks  3042.7 #39 11:25PM
Me tooo! And lol! - PinkElephants  745.7 #226 11:26PM
Me too, although some 15 year olds need one more a toddler πŸ˜€ - ShariRenee  5869.0 #15 11:40PM
Agree. - daddystud9  70.5 #3930 11:49PM
Lol! Of course I used them on both when they were younger :-) - PrincessDuckie  799.2 #207 8:37AM
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ That's what I thought too. Hat she was well adjusted to wearing the leash! I thought, you go, PrincessDuckie! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. She is a nice, responsible girl, though. I have witnessed that. Try are both great girls. Well, all three of you! - MeridaFan  3510.6 #33 4:18PM
Some kids need this some don't. When I was a kid I'd stay super close to my mom always afraid of getting lost... my sister on the other hand ran off every time my mom would blink. - clarabelle87  194.1 #1974 12:38AM
This is so true! My Brothers first 4 were typical busy toddlers, and I swore I would never use a baby leash with them being a child psychologist myself...Then the baby came, lol. She is "Houdini Child" and can disappear in an instant, so yes we use a baby leash with her when I bring them to DL :) It really does depend on the child. - hatgal76  441.2 #446 10:37AM
I am truly uber in seeing as how I managed to never need a ridiculous leash to keep ahold of my child. - Lelundrial  529.8 #353 7:47AM
If this was around when I was a kid my parents would have used on me... I was always gettin lost. Maybe they wanted me to get lost? Hummmm. - CallMeFlower  422.9 #470 9:00AM
So many opinions... Lol! As a parent you have to do what you have to do to make sure you feel your child is the safest! :) - mrandmrstooooodles  37.8 #4967 2:30PM
My oldest daughter was an escape artist. If you so much as blinked, she could disappear (and she did, once, at a Disney exhibit at the State Fair - longest couple of minutes of my life!!). We used a harness the first time we brought her to Disneyland. It made it much less stressful. My youngest, on the other hand, was a very shy toddler/preschooler and wouldn't have dreamed of wandering or pulling away. I think it completely depends on the child's personality and the situation. - jmgphx  323.1 #716 4:42PM
I understand, My two year old gets excited about things and she takes off! With me being big and pregnant I need a way to keep the excitement near me! - chunkgirl  249.4 #1266 8:22AM
Lol. Love the illustrative words - big & pregnant! - daddystud9  70.5 #3930 10:05PM
I see a black strap around you. Are you tethered too? ;) - DisneyFan77  671.8 #257 11:26PM
You mean other husbands aren't tethered too?? - daddystud9  70.5 #3930 11:34PM
My hubby broke his, he kept walking off and I kept tugging him back. Lol - dumbbunny  626.5 #289 11:36PM
Oh snap. I mean... strap. I just didn't realize it would be so visible! - DisneyFan77  671.8 #257 11:39PM
My husband is pretty well tethered. Just ask him. πŸ˜‚ - MeridaFan  3510.6 #33 4:25PM
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, dumb bunny. - MeridaFan  3510.6 #33 4:40PM
Totally have a baby "leash" backpack for baby. It lets him feel independent with walking without e having to worry about not being able to grab him before he makes a break for it. - starwarsmamma  561.6 #326 11:28PM
This is great :) , I had to use one on my now 14 year old daughter when she was 5, she is special needs and it was such a peace of mind , but also aloud her to explore a short distance away. We are from Seattle area as well :) - JeanaLeigh  8.3 #11135 11:35PM
the heavens are smiling down upon me. they look at me and say "here nicole, this is for you. here is this post." - nicoleface  1749.9 #79 11:37PM

So how are you liking MW so far? - MrsSchnooks  3042.7 #39 11:41PM
I need a 'πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, MrsSchnooks' button! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - MeridaFan  3510.6 #33 4:40PM
No leashes, this is a situation where you have to supervise by committee, using multiple adults and older siblings. - LeftyLightning  388.7 #526 11:58PM
We did exact same thing. Also take a picture every morning so you can show if he gets lost. - DLKenCA  2057.2 #62 12:01AM
I was in the restroom waiting in line and caught a 4 1/2 year old runner who had ditched his mom! He was so proud of himself till I swooped him up! Poor Mom! I agree some kids just need them! I don't even think he was being bad...just thought this is a fun game! - KelleyandTyler22  799.0 #208 2:05AM
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚a runner, love it! - MrsSchnooks  3042.7 #39 2:06AM
Runners - indeed! Ha. - daddystud9  70.5 #3930 3:49PM
'We got a runner on aisle 3." πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - MeridaFan  3510.6 #33 4:27PM
We had a first grader run out the gate at school and most of the way home, a couple miles away. Escaping disneyland would be easy for this guy. 😜 - bluefairy  643.3 #277 2:34AM
When/if I ever have a kid I am definitely using one. If my kid end up anything like my boyfriend, that kid will be a wanderer. - missmimi90  1769.7 #78 2:37AM
My daughter has me on the leash. But it keeps me safe. - madsdad  1847.0 #76 11:00AM

Thx! We sure are thankful for he and his twin sis!! - daddystud9  70.5 #3930 7:07PM
Those things are the BEST!!! We used one for our little man when he was younger at the parks. Better safe then sorry, and screw anyone who thinks its wrong! - PixieDustAway  262.3 #1153 11:36AM

Yep! unsolicited parenting advise is always a hit with the crowd ;) - ShariRenee  5869.0 #15 2:10PM
I had NO IDEA. Lol. We used to be more uptight but having 7 tends to loosen things up ...and being "old young parents." - daddystud9  70.5 #3930 7:10PM
I'm not a parent so Can't say I'm for them or against them but I sure hated them as a kid , I've also been nearly tripped at disneyland by those things - ChristopherRobin661  269.3 #1087 2:24PM
I use a leash on my 4yearold because she hates hot sweaty hands and holding her arm in the air for hours best for child and parents. - dl811  125.0 #3000 2:26PM
I say to each their own. We personally do not use a leash on our son mainly because we have not needed to do so. He does pretty well at staying close and holding our hand, when needed. I'm honestly unsure what I would decide if I had to cross this bridge. - EpicDio  433.1 #456 2:35PM
I thought the same way. But sometimes it is needed. Don't own one but sometimes I think why haven't I bought one lol - annjay07  170.5 #2305 2:58PM
I guess it is depending on the child and the parent. As a proud father of a 7 year old boy living with high functioning autism we considered using one on our first trip, but Disneyland has had such a great effect on him that their was no need. Instead we are hyper aware of where he is at all times and that he can go with me or his mom...or we can all stay together as his little sister (age 5) is finally tall enough to go on most of the attractions he was to try! - BombFrogFormerCM  841.1 #195 3:29PM
I used to make fun, now after visiting the parks with multiple kids( and friends kids in tow) I'm thinking its not such a bad idea.. It was easier when they were content to ride in the stroller... - carminaire  644.9 #276 4:33PM
Easier for us before twins! - daddystud9  70.5 #3930 9:28PM
They don't seem so bad, I'm considering wearing one since I got lost after a parade and my phone was dead - dorkrocks  1066.0 #149 4:36PM
Well you certainly need one ;) - ShariRenee  5869.0 #15 5:11PM

Adorable! - heather02  20.9 #6499 8:38PM
Well I do not have children but I wonder if these come in large chested female size for when I'm MWing and walking at the parks. I tend to wander off. I'm sure my fiancΓ© would love one of these so be doesn't have to keep track of me as much. - CourtyAstroBlisters  700.4 #240 9:36PM
I just grab onto Slotherini's shirt and say, "Guide me. I'm MWing." 😁 - ZeeAlice  618.3 #292 9:42PM
2 out of 3 of my kids needed harnesses. They were life savers! Of course it was never used to replace holding hands, but I swear little kid hands are covered in butter how fast they slip out and run off! LOL Adorable kid! Hope you all had great fun today!!! - Autoalice  160.6 #2462 9:41PM

CROWD PREDICTIONSpring Break is winding down as Disney reduces hours this week. The MouseWait Historical Crowd Index shows mid-70s for this week which seems about right. Crowds will be lighter than last week with Friday and Sunday being the busiest days. - Admin Apr 14, 2015 12:04PM

I heard a law was passed this year that permitted dogs to be allowed in any outdoor dining patio area... someone should look into if this applies lol ... - TheRealJackandSally  72.1 #0 7:08PM

http://cchealth.org/eh/retail-food/dog-law-faq.php Β  I know folks love theiri pets but I still do not think this is sanitary Β from a food perspective. See the url for CA law. Unless they provide a designated pet area outside, dogs cannot lick the plates/utensils, who cleans up after a dog accident......No pets in at a restaurant for now (service dogs are the exception). Disney is excellent with their food cleanliness in the parks per the Public health inspections. DTD does not fare as well per Retaurarant inspection. Check the Health Care Agency for the current restaurant inspections. As a Public health nurse I always check to see who is keeping clean in their kitchens. Diners beware! - Plumiegirl  8572.2 #3 10:42AM
i asked for MW meet up discount on 3/31 and nobody working knew what I was taLking about but they did give me an ap discount - MelodyMouse  4019.8 #26 4:22PM
