My wife and I visiting the parks soon and we have never eaten at the Carthay Restaurant. Should we make reservations or do they accept walk ins? Also, is there a dress code for the Carthay? Thank you for your help MW!

Ok. thank you for the feedback. We are celebrating our 10 yr anniversary so I think I will be calling to make reservations in the next few minutes. - Mickey_Badge  282.8 #1034 9:13AM
Just to let you know. If you make your reservation for about 8:40ish and request the north balcony?( the one facing Hollywood and Buena vista st. It makes for a Fantastic firework dinner. And they also pump the music thru the speakers. That's will be for our next trip 😊 - mini_MINNIE  1140.1 #157 9:24AM
Reservations are always good, but they do walk-ins too. The most I've waited is 20 minutes on a busy day. Whatever you are wearing in the park is okay for the restaurant, it is in the park after all. If it were outside in the general public I'd say jacket and tie/nice dress would be appropriate- but since it's in the park nobody expects that. Enjoy. - Firelt  236.3 #1516 11:03AM
Make reservations! - Cinderella_Schnooks  3370.7 #42 8:48AM
You shouldn't have any problems at lunch. My hubby and I wandered in after Grizzly River Rapids, looking somewhat grizzly. We were afraid we wouldn't get in. The CMs couldn't have been more welcoming. No need to dress up. If you want to have dinner though, I would suggest making reservations in person as soon as you can. - DeadliestPassholder  314.8 #826 8:56AM
Try the Short Rib Ravioli!! They are delicious, have fun! - PamPam82  31.2 #5872 9:06AM
We just had our 6 year anniversary there. We made reservations and dressed up. Seems like we didn't need the reservation but it did make out for a better seating table. It looked as if walk ups were sat in a main dinning area(loud). We did feel a little over dressed for the occasion. Not for the restaurant itself, but everyone dining around us had shorts, flip flops and baseball caps on, with their sweaters tied around their waist. Safe to say, there is no dress code. πŸ˜„ - mini_MINNIE  1140.1 #157 9:09AM
Dressing up is always fun thiufh - starwarsmamma  561.6 #360 9:51AM
I agree with what everyone said, its a beautiful restaraunt so take the time to walk around and look at all the great pictures on the wall. And order the biscuits. :) - madsdad  1868.2 #92 9:56AM
Mmmmm...the biscuits...just don't get all over anxious like we did and bite into them right when they come to the table...let em cool for a bit ;) - aphboomwha  137.6 #2925 10:29AM
^^^ this. πŸ˜‚ - mini_MINNIE  1140.1 #157 10:53AM
Everytime I get the biscuits I get to excited and burn my mouth on the first one. You would think I would learn eventually but apparently not lol. - madsdad  1868.2 #92 10:58AM
Thanks for the advice everyone. Reservations are made and we are good to go. Will be our first time trying the Carthay and I am trying to add as many cool little touches for our trip as I can. I also have an in room celebration set up. Will try and get pictures of the room all decorated. - Mickey_Badge  282.8 #1034 11:32AM
