Who has a good Disneyland wedding proposal story? Here is mine. It was July 1998. It was easy to decide that Disneyland would be the magic place to ask my girlfriend to marry me, but where? I decided I wanted it at a place that would be there forever. So I chose the drawbridge at the entrance to the castle. We arrived to the park before it opened. We got to the front of the drop rope. My girlfriend, Cathy, asked me where we were heading first. I said just wait and see. She knew we would likely be heading to the left for Indiana, but if we ran to the right, it would be Space Mountain. She looked at me with a confident grin like she had figured me out. Five minutes to rope drop. A kid next to me yelled, I’m hungry! I heard others discussing the plans for their mad dash to various parts of the park. I was starting to get nervous. Is the ring in my pocket? Yes I can feel it. Three minutes to rope drop. My hands are getting clammy. The kid next to me yells, I said I was hungry! I’m thinking come on kid knock it off, I’m trying to focus on my plan. Let’s see, run straight to the drawbridge, don’t knock anyone over, don’t drop the ring, The ring! Yes I still feel it in my pocket. One minute, hands are now sweaty. I look at Cathy. She looks at me with the same confident look like yeah I know where we are going. I feel like a racehorse waiting for the gate to swing open. Cathy says, so are we heading to Indiana? I don’t say anything. Suddenly the rope drops. We start running. I hear a CM yelling please don’t run in the distance behind me. We are running straight, not turning. Cathy looks over at me like, he idiot, where are you going? We get close to the draw bridge when all of a sudden I notice a film crew filming some kind of commercial on the draw bridge. Inside I yell Nooooooo! My idea out the window, we are still running and I have about 5 seconds to make a new plan! I think hey if I stick to the plan maybe they will film us, great! No wait Cathy does not like being in the spotlight, what do I do? Just as we were about to step on the drawbridge, I saw it! Yes, that’s it the wishing well, my plan B! We ran up next to the wishing well and stopped. I looked at Cathy who now was totally confused. I dropped down on one knee. Her confusion changed to shock! Before I could even ask the question, she yelled yes! After the shock wore off, I told her to choose where she wanted to go. We ended up at Splash Mountain. As we were getting on the ride, two Cm’s noticed Cathy was crying. They came over and asked her if she was okay? She yelled yes I’m getting married! After the ride, she pulled out her phone and said I have to call everyone! She called her parents and found out they already knew the plan. She called her sister who also already knew. Her brother and cousin, yes they knew too! By the sixth call she realized everyone knew it but her! We stayed that day until Disneyland closed. A year later at our wedding, what was on the top of our cake? Mickey and Minnie of course.

Disneyland unFORECAST (BETA) is here! Top MouseWaiters giving you the rundown of what's happening at the Disneyland Resort. The unFORECAST now has its own page on the web www.unFORECAST.com
unFORECAST for the month of April 2016 Spring Break traffic continues to make the Parks busy, however, we've made it past the heaviest part of Spring Break. Expect strong crowd levels through April 11th, and then things should slow down a bit. Look for crowds to pick up again at the end of the month and through May. Looking back at MouseWait's Historical Crowd Index (available in our MagicPlan iOS Calendar), through April 11, 2015, crowds averaged in the low 80s (approx 80% capacity), then the Crowd Index dipped into the 60s, until later in the month when the Crowd Index rose to the 70s. Remember, we've seen larger crowds ever since the 60th Celebration began, so keep that in mind when looking at historical Crowd Index data. To get a real-time look at crowd levels, check the MouseWait App for Crowd Index averages and wait times. Have a great week! - Admin Apr 4, 2016 3:24PM
