Good morning! This day in Disney history, April 5th, 1956. The Crane Bathroom of the Future (later known as the Bathroom of Tomorrow) opens in Tomorrowland. It featured a display of citrus yellow "Criterion" fixtures, designed by Henry Dreyfuss. The last part of this exhibit was called "Industrial Flow Control,” which was a display of "Valves in Industry," where guests could use the valves to control the flow of water in a colorful display of transparent “pipes." If you need an actual bathroom, you’ll have to take care of that somewhere else. This is only an exhibit. ;) The Crane Bathroom of Tomorrow became part of the past when it closed on August 31, 1965. Do you remember this attraction? What did you think of it?

I thought it was fun to control the flow. My parents thought it was cool because it was free - Tealtownfan  1015.6 #184 8:54AM
Teehee, free at DL is nice! Good morning Teal! 👋 - Duchess_SMK  6340.7 #18 9:24AM
This was really before my time. According to what I've read, this closed in 1960. For some reason though, this made me laugh 😂😂. Bathroom of tomorrow?? Well it seems like this would have done well with House of the Future. Interesting concepts they had for the "future" back then. Thank you for a very cool Disney History!! I didn't even know about this. So fun learning all these things. You're awesome, Duchess!! - IMissDisney  1205.7 #144 8:55AM
Correction on the closure date...1965 - IMissDisney  1205.7 #144 10:25AM
This whole are was under budget cuts/construction deadlines. And therefore caused it to be finished last w/ Disney reluctantly changing it into a corporate showcase. Yes! The house of the future was another interesting concept. Thank YOU MyPark! - Duchess_SMK  6340.7 #18 11:35AM
Way before my time. Would've been fun to play in though! - LilSterner  5503.0 #19 9:54AM
