I need prayers. My best friend's little sister was just diagnosed with leukemia. She's 16 and the family is understandably taking it really hard. I've known her her whole life. She's the sweetest girl and she doesn't deserve this.

I just read on kidshealth.org that chances for a cure are very good with leukemia and that with treatment, most children with leukemia are free of the disease without it coming back!

I'm so sorry to hear that and I can relate as to what your friend's family must be going thru. My cousin has a lifelong blood disease she has to fight and she has had it since she was a newborn. She was born with Thalassemia major. It's a genetic blood disease. We think our grandfather is a carrier and my aunt, my mom, myself and my two boys are carriers. My mom and myself also has anemia.
It hurts to watcha family member go in and out of hospital, having to have blood transfusion and have meds pumped into them on a nightly basis.

Many prayers. Have they diagnosed the type of leukemia it is? Which hospital is she in? Get them in touch with LLS and City of Hope. We are huge leukemia awareness supporters, and have a lot of info. - Wife4Matt
